I've always multiboxed without using RAF making new teams.

Is it alot better using RAF versus just creating new chars in your current accounts?

you'd need to buy new BC and Lich king keys each time.

won't that end up being alot more expensive versus leveling new toons in ur main accounts?

im thinking of doing RAF because leveling is taking SO long but want to heat other peoples opinions

thanks!

Lets say you already own 5 accounts.
And plan to continue 5 boxing.

Just leveling toons on your existing accounts will be both the cheapest financially and the longest time investment.
$0 extra, but 25-30 hours of your time.

You could purchase 2 classic wow (not battlechests, BC, or Wrath) accounts.
Then RAF link from 2 existing accounts to the 2 new accounts.
Level (boost) 4 toons with one booster.
Then possibly character transfer from the 2 classic accounts, to two of your existing (and upgraded) accounts.
This costs you 2x Classic Wow + $50 (2 transfers at $25 each), but reduces 1-60th to 1/3rd normal time.
In the neighborhood of $100, but you save 16-20 hours of play time.

If you had purchased a slug of the $5 anniversary accounts.
It would be possible to level two keeper and two disposable characters.
And then repeat the process with two more of each.
And only cost $20, for 2/3rds the 1-60 time (save 8-10 hours).
If you were to buy 4x classic retail copies at the normal price, this might be close to $100.
But, if you were planning on boosting multiple sets of toons, this is cheaper then transfers.

It is always a balance between financial cost and time cost.
Purely for the RAF speed, combining with existing accounts, you only need classic wow.
But possibly character transfers too.

Well.

Your time > your money
(hopefully)

Your sanity > your money
(almost definitely)

I wouldn't even consider doing 1-60 without RAF unless it was specifically to see old content again.

haha your right. out of the two my sanity > money :P

and yep my time > money.

i gues what I will do is RAF 1-60 and then transfer the chars to my mains.

i should of bought 10 copies when they were 4.99. Damn.

so as far as i understand.

X>A
A>B
B>C
C>D

X will get a free month
A will get a free month
B will get a free month
C will get a free month

Is that right?

so all im paying for is $100 for char transfers and $60-80 for 4 copies of WOW ?

30 days included in WOW and 10 days trial. Plus some of the guys get free month on top of that? Or how does that work?

hopefully within the month i will be 60 already and continue them on my main accounts

With RAF, when the new/friend account pays for the first month.
The referring account gets one month free.

And when the new/friend account pays for the second month.
The referring account gets one Zhevra mount (for a single character) free.
That is an extra achievement, if you are collecting those with one of your toons.

With RAF, and four linked toons being boosted by a geared 80 tank type.
You can do 1-60, in 8-9 hours of played time, if you are half geared and are efficient.
I'm never that fast, but quite a few people have done it at that speed.
I can easily do 1-60, in a weekend, with RAF.
Even without a booster, if you were to RAF 5x new toons, it will be fast.

With the toons you boost or level, granted levels from the toons boosted, etc.
You could RAF toons on both factions or on two servers, and have near full accounts on each.
Three months of RAF time is quite a bit.

You also get to grant levels, based on levels granted to you, ie they cascade.
For maximum effect, you want to boost two toons, for each link in the RAF chain.

sorry but what does boosting mean?

Is booster when your main is 70-80 level?

I was thinking of starting fresh 5 new toons. Would all benefit from the features?

luckily I have some high level chars so I can send some gold because as i understand youll be training quite frequently.

Boosting is that you have 4 characters practically adding nothing and a higher level toon solo'n the instance at a fast pace so you get good exp / hour.

You don't need a booster for RAF.
A booster is probably the fastest way to level...
But four toons are leveling, not five.

Without a booster, ie, five new accounts.
All five are leveling, at 3x the speed of five accounts without RAF.
I would recommend having one toon who can tank (Prot Pally or Feral Druid) on the first team.
When they are all 60th...
Continue in Hellfire, as Burning Crusade gear is a huge step up from classic wow gear.
With much better gear, and probably 62nd or so.

You should be able to boost later teams to at least 45th.
ie, The end of Scarlet Monastery.
And then run them through quests etc.
That will get you the most teams to 60+ during RAF.
