1/15 Weekly Raid Alts (Ignis) Signup Here Plox

I'm going to be putting together (at least 1, maybe more) a team to go hit the weekly raid.

Time: 7:15 PST (shooting to start at 7:30 or when we fill)
Place: Uldulolololololar
Bosses: Flame Leviathan & Ignis

Requirements: over 9k GS (too easy) The only requirements for this is going to be 3.9k GS + Ability to bring 3k+ DPS. If you have 3.9k GS and can't do 3k DPS, we need to fix your macros :D The only other requirement is that you watch the tankspot.com videos before the raid. We'll likely try Ignis speed kill if we have the DPS, since the speed kill is actually less complicated than a regular kill. I don't mind boxing DPS, but boxing tank and DPS or heals + DPS is probably not going to be ideal if for Ignis.

Tankspot videos: Please watch these, the Flame Leviathan video shows hard mode, we won't be doing +4, maybe +2. But make sure you understand the role of all of the vehicles so we can get going quickly. If you have never done these bosses you will not get an invite unless you verify you have watched both of these videos. I know Ulduar is SRSBSNS but I prefer clean runs to wipes.

If I'm on, I'll assist with as many characters as you need. I'm totally comfortable boxing MT + Main healer and DPS (so one healer for the rest of the raid and we're golden).

I can bring a total of four toons. But this directly depends on my ability to reduce wife aggro on the fly. :D

but srsly, I can bring any of my toons, im not saved yet. Hell I can box 3-4 DPS if we need to fill spots. ive got 4 toons I know can pull 4-5k dps.

I would love to make this, although I'm taking the wifey out to dinner tonight. I should be able to be on by 8:00 PM PST, but don't wait for me if you get full. I have 5 toons that are above 4500 GS and another 5 that are at 5K GS, so shouldn't bring you down if I'm able to attend.


On a broader note, I was thinking about these weekly raids and it seems a real shame to do these 10-man. Though almost all of us box we can each only get a toon or two through in 10-man raids and all of our alts have to PUG them or do without. About half the raids are pretty trivial (all the Naxx ones and OS), but the others require a bit more work. The Ulduar ones need 4-5 roles to be filled that take some focus. This means with only 10 spots, the ability to play multiple toons is very restricted. However, the 25-man versions of the Ulduar raids still only require 4-5 "focus" roles, allowing much more flexibility to get credit on multiple toons. This means DPS may not be optimal, but this doesn't really matter if we outgear the instance.

So my thought is that doing 10-mans is missing out on a key opportunity we have as boxers and that doing 25-mans would be more beneficial, more challenging, and more epic. If we plan the raids each week, filling up 25 spots should be pretty easy. I personally can bring 10 if needed, but be more than willing to be the first one to start to remove toons if we have more "real" people to fill the spots.

Even for the Naxx ones and OS (all of which I have soloed on 10-man), it seems like it would be more fun to do them as 25-mans and allow more guild alts to get credit. I know we ran Naxx 25 a number of times on Magtheridon with only 3 or 4 of us actually playing with great success.

If you think this has merit, the only other input I would have is that nights tend the be the one time during the day that my wife expects me NOT to be playing. Just about anytime Saturday or Sunday (except Saturday night) would work for me. Of course, I'm just one small input, but take it for what it's worth.

I think Malygos, Ignis, XT-002 would probably be the hardest to box on 25 man. The others should be doable pretty easily.

After a few months of boxing Naxx 25 i gotta say i'd really rather not make boxing raids a habit its just not that fun for me especially with all the new mechanics blizz has been throwing into raids... although doable its too much of a pita to deal with imo.

We've had numerous attempts at trying to get people together to box 25 mans, and we've never had a significant sustained group, so we never get a vibe for each others play style, ppl keep coming and going, so some nights have to get cancelled, which makes more people less likely to keep coming... Boxers 'box because they like to have their own schedule, its hard to organize people like this.

That said, I'd love to go do some older stuff. I've got a bunch of toons that need to do naxx (well just KT) for the friggin title.... (champion of the frozen wastes)

We've had numerous attempts at trying to get people together to box 25 mans, and we've never had a significant sustained group, so we never get a vibe for each others play style, ppl keep coming and going, so some nights have to get cancelled, which makes more people less likely to keep coming... Boxers 'box because they like to have their own schedule, its hard to organize people like this.

That said, I'd love to go do some older stuff. I've got a bunch of toons that need to do naxx (well just KT) for the friggin title.... (champion of the frozen wastes)

So with this new Occulus loot buff it seems like a TON of people are reporting getting drakes. Is the drop rate really that good?

Maybe I'll have to get off my lazy butt and set up some marcos for Occulus instead of just insta-leaving when I get it on the random heroics.

I think I mentioned before that we used to 3- or 4-man much of Naxx25 on Mag. So me plus two of 5-boxers... doesn't sound like it would be THAT hard to get together. ;)

There is probably a lot more than you think. Triumph gear only covers so many slots - I'm always amazed at the higher-geared toons STILL needing a peice here and there - especially trinkets and off-hands
