Just in case no one's figured this out yet, you can boost your team of lowbies using your 80 with LFG. I'm sure I can just run to a dungeon and boost but why do that when I can teleport in? Unfortunately, having that 80 in my team of 63-64's doesn't let me. Well, since I have a buttload of 60's from RAF time I just make the premade of 63-64's with a random lvl60 and he can still queue up for say....Slave pens. They teleport in and I immediately leave group with the 60, prompting the next party leader to see if he needs a replacement and I say no. I then invite the 80 and they immediately get the option to teleport to the dungeon.. boosting on!
I'm sure if you wanted to be heartless that you can do it with your 4 premade and just votekick the random that joins your group so you can invite your 80.
EDIT: This is also incredibly selfish and inconsiderate to screw someone up and/or negatively impact someone that way just to save a bit of travel time or character swapping.

Great information apart from this ^^^
I think it's beyond heartless. It's selfish and inconsiderate, and negatively impacts someone else.
If you are kicked from a group do you lose the 15 minute random dungeon debuff?
If you are kicked from a group, does it put you back at the head of the queue or does it force you to requeue all over again.
It seems incredibly selfish to screw someone up that way just to save a bit of travel time or character swapping.

I agree with you, wouldn't do it myself and I don't condone this behavior. Nevertheless, it is still information and not advice.

I got 2 teams to 60something at about at the same time but one of my teams is 5 priests and lfg wouldn't let me do 5 priests, so I did that by picking 1 melee from my 2nd team to get it, then leaving with that one and replacing it with the 5th priest - it worked great until my guys hit 65 while the other team was still 62/63 and the random instance wasn't working anymore because of level differences - but if I had kept the teams at about the same level (which I may do again) it would continue to work - so yes, you can do that with your own toons - I wouldn't do it with a stranger ! (plus I think someone mentioned you can't kick someone right away anyway)

I'm confused, if someone could clarify...
OP is saying level 80 can LFG with 4x 30's into a dungeon... but level 80 cannot LFG with 4x 63's into a dungeon?
What’s the mechanic behind the LFG preventing this? Where does is it drawing the line?

Well I didn't say anything about 4x30's but the point is that you can't do LFD if the toons are of wildly different levels. If you are lucky enough to have a near-level toon on the boosting account then you can form your random LFD and have that toon leave the group after porting in and then invite your level 80. You can still clear the dungeon and get your random loot bag at the end!

I misunderstood the first opening sentence. By lowbies you were referring to anyone under 80 (in this case your mid-60's). For whatever reason, I initially read it as the lvl 80 could que up with any four-member team... but only up to a unknown level. Thank you for both clarifying and the topic in general, I haven't messed with the LFDungeon tool yet. :D

I'm pretty sure you can't kick(vote) someone in the first couple of minutes. So that wouldn't even be an option.

Cant vote kick while the 15min debuff is on as far as I can tell.

Just a note - discovered that an 80 can queue up for any northrend dungeon including UK, if you're still planning on boosting or helping a lowbie group in Northrend.
