I've been gone for a while and I'm just getting back into it... does anyone still use QuestHelper?
I see Blizzard added their own version of it, and frankly I don't like it.
But when trying to use questhelper, it just seems to be all messed up now... Like it shows the blizzard "mob areas" for quests and stuff and I can't turn it off.
Does anyone still use it, if so, how do you go about using it?
You should turn the blizzard feature off. You can do that on the Map, or in the Settings. Once you turned it off, Questhelper shows correct map coordinates again.
I like Questhelper more than the blizzard implementation. In special it interacts with TomTom and other Addons.
The problem about blizzards implementations always is that its never more than the basics. The equip manager got no stance equip modes, no intuitive design for example, it just got the basic functions and a very clumsy handling. The addons which are available for a long time often are way better. Same goes for the Changes for the Quest UI.

I use QH. In fact, I much prefer QH over TourGuide when doing 5-man quests. TourGuide just seems bugged lately, and was giving me fits. Because I have a Pally, even 'slow flying' mounts aren't so bad once the group hits 62. And because my group of 5 cuts through mobs like butter, I just grab all the quests that are not "gather 15 of X" (Unless I know it's an easy one), and let QH guide me.
I'm sure it's not as efficient as TourGuide working smoothly and optimized for 5-man MBoxing, but it's still pretty quick.

I only use QH. Thats all I need to do my quest. Its truly a epic mod.

I still use questhelper on all of my toons, it makes keeping track of those damn collection quests a lot easier. It's just annoying to spend time working on a quest and having all but one toon complete a quest.

I use QuestHelper, TourGuide, and TomTom. I haven't tried leveling solo with TourGuide, just used it for RAF so far. I like how QH gets along with TomTom. Makes for solo questing a lot better than the clunky basics Blizzard gives you.
I have noticed an arrow difference between TourGuide and QuestHelper. If you are in a different zone than the current objective, TG points at the objective while QH will point at a safe spot to cross into the next zone. So it is possible for them to be pointing in different directions, yet still be helpful and working on the same quest/objective.

I've moved from Cartographer to Mapster.
I preferred Cartographer, but CK Knight has posted he will not update it.
The Cartographer map was about an inch off (to the left) of the actual map.
Although the x,y coordinates were still spot on, for actual position.
With Mapster, the map is in sync, with the actual wow map.
I have the QH points, off on the world map, but still use the arrow in play.
And then go with the blizzard points on the world map, along with the regions where an item can be found.
The combination seems to work fairly well.
Cannot blame the horrendous drop rates on "Spinal Dust" and "Rotting Hearts", in the BE newbie zone, on the quest tracking options.
That's the first horrendous collection so far... gave up before finishing on the first toon, let alone do all five toons.

I used it a while back. With all the performance issues it gave me, I switched to Carbonite Quest and haven't looked back. Don't need extra mods to make all the features work as Carbonite is all integrated.

I use it on my main toon only. Questhelper is still a huge memory hog.

I second Carbonite, it seems to be less of a resource hog despite having more features. I liked it so much that I had purchased a subscription back when it was paid. I told myself I would never do that but it was just too handy.

Guess the question I asked was skipped over:
Even if I disable the WoW/blizzard quester tracker... when I have questhelper turned on, for some reason it shows the "areas" you need to go to for the quests... they're just turned on, and there's no way to get rid of them.
Here's a picture:

As you can see... WoW's quest tracker is turned off. Yet the areas it shows me are stuck there. Questhelper still works just fine, when hovering over quest icons on the map it'll show the area I need to be... but since the stupid WoW tracker areas are there it makes a giant cluster ****.

Ah okay... after playing around a bit more I see what you're saying...
But... what determines a "blue" area vs. a "red" area?
And... why do the areas sometimes automatically show up, and other times its only on a mouse-hover that they appear?
Thanks for your help.
