How do you guys cope with burnout?

Been grinding constantly for the last month to get 9 groups of 2 to level 40 (Well, 6@40, 2@45 and 1@55), all without any form of distraction while playing (no tv or music in pc room http://multiboxing.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif) and it's getting hard to even log in at the mo!

What do you guys do to alleviate the boredom while RaF levelling?

I'm about heroic burnt out atm. So what to do about it?

Start 3 paladins to go with my existing 80 DK and Paladin!

:)

I can't even face my 80 mains at the mo (DK, Rogue and Paladin).

May finally have to try this LFG random thingy, not used it yet (been stuck in SM:Cath, only 210 runs done!)

Take a break from wow.
If the game isn't fun, there's no point in playing.
It will be there, when your interest grows again.

When you're doing boring/repetitive stuff.
It helps to have a distraction.
Is there any chance of a TV/DVD in your gaming room?

Have this forum in the back round and bs with us :P
Try other games, its not blasphemy if you dabble in an rts or fps now and then. I'm into battleforge right now, its a complete money hole but at least its fun.

I spent a while just chilling with "Dragon Age:Origins", which by-the-way has you control a whole party of characters in battle real-time. Kinda like multiboxing :)

I'm just not logging in atm. Will take a full on WoW break when Mass Effect 2 arrives. I spend my burnt out time with my kids, my girlfriend, watching movies, and recently picked up a few seasons of my various favorite TV series. I also do SCC's on Final Fantasy Tactics.

I never RAF leveled, but I did take regular breaks. Take a week off - don't read WoW sites, don't log in, enjoy the holidays, or what's left of them.

It's just WoW.

I actaully did get burnt out about a month ago and cancelled all accounts for the time being. Im actually having tons of fun playing modern warfare 2 and socom confrontation. End of next month is mag look it up. 256 player maps so 128 vs 128. Oh yea this is gonna be fun. Funny thing is i bought a new computer for wow and now ill barely use it for the time being oh well at least its there when i come back.

So when your burnt out just cancel them and do other stuff then when u got the itch to play again reactivate them. When i do comeback i am going to activate them all on the same day instead of staggered. Other then that its time for sleep and wow is on perma vacation. I dont even get on vent ne more so blah. What i got like 10 months till cata.

So i got ten months to get back into if not then i guess my addiction will be done. Really dont want it to be since its a great game and all but hey. Like love if you leave it and it comes back it was ment to be if not then move on and find something better. I think 4 years was a great attention span for adhd lol.

All you other boxers enjoy and take it easy i might be back one day might not laterz.

I got burned out, now I spent my time revisiting addons and spent my time with my new rogue team, basically prowl Org while I wait for battlegrounds.

The flux of the game environment is pretty high, hopefully the further stages of battlenet will address a lot of the grind.

I think i'll be fine once RaF runs out on these accounts, it's the rush to get to 60 while triple xp is on :D. Think I just played too much trying to get all teams to 60 in the first 30 days, I still have 50+ days to go so I can afford to relax a bit now. Think i'll get the T9 gear for my new 80 Pally, then when I come back to boosting it SHOULD be a bit faster lol

U can afford to relax? Unless u depend on the game for a livin', ur livin' it too much.
Play a couple hours per day, it's enough :)

If you feel like you get burned out then you are doing something wrong, I think =p
Just play if you want to, and dont play if you dont want to, problem solved :)

I've taken three 2 to 3 month breaks, in the past.
And another 3 week break, fairly recently.

That definitely helps, at times.

Everything in moderation, is a decent mantra to live by.
Unfortunately, when I'm wowing, I tend to go for long sessions and lots of them together.
But then the breaks can help, in that situation.

Well, just play a different style. There are so many different things you can do in wow.. Tired of leveling? Go for instances. Tired of instances? Go for BGs. Tired of BGs? Go for Arena. Tired of Arena? Go daily questing. Tired of multiboxing? Play a single char. Tired of single chars? Play a class you did not play before. Tired of that one? Go and level another team.

I leveled up 10 teams in the past few weeks. I love leveling, but even if you love something, it could become dull. So after i finished my Pally team at level 80, i did stop leveling the 8 other groups (1 was already 80) and ran instances with the Pallys. Am not bored yet. Will continue until i am tired of instances.. but by that time, i will go back leveling the next team.

So much to be done in a game without end.

Make a new team and level up in BGs - the exp sucks, but it's great fun when you're in the upper part of the bracket :-D
