Hello, I know i haven't been on or on and off for some time. I got into raiding switched guilds, and benched warmed too much so i quite. I sort of want to get back into wow, probably solo making a druid. My main was a DK and was doing great dps, but never could get into groups because "flavor of the month" and groups always had tons of DK. So i am thinking about making a druid. This way i can cover all the grounds, healing, ranged dps, melee dps, and tanking. I started on my druid and got him to lvl 31 without a refer a friend. Got bored and quit.
Here is my question. This is my DK http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Icecrown&n=Darkenangel
She is in her dps gear. I have a tier 7 tanking set too, but no where near what i have like my dps gear (oh i also have 2 good 1 handed tanking swords). What i need is a good boosting spec to help boost my toon to lvl 70. At 70 i am just going to do wrath quests to get to 80.
I have the 2 professions maxed right now (225 enchanting and 225 tailoring) on this toon so i don't want to remake. What i was thinking was get a battle chest and power lvl 2 toons to lvl 31 and then switched to my 31 and start grinding. Would this be a good idea or a bad idea? I know the triple xp would be great but will starting from lvl 1 again be worth it? So would the triple xp from 1-60 be faster then lvling 31-60?
The other questions is best instances this is what i am aiming for:
if i have to reboost 1-31
8-10 RFC
10-20 SFK
20-35 SM
35-45 ZF
45-55 Strat (work on getting horse too lol)
55 -65 mix of steam vault, shatterhalls
65-70 SL
I just remember when i was boosting my 4 shams in zf to get from 40-45 seemed like forever.

10-25 SFK Yes you can go to SM at 20, but I found the extra 5 levels here made it more bearable than trying to get 20 there
25-35 SM
35-45 Sunken Temple. Clear the bottom two loops and the dragon level. quick easy and takes less than 15min and you dont have to move from the entrance to get all the xp.
45-60 Scholomance. Like sunken temple you can clear the large rooms in about 17min and not have to move your boosted toon from the entrance. Jump off the bridge, clear, kill the next room, kill the dragon welps, hop down and kill the boss and get the key. come back up and go kill the basement with the caster boss lady, come back and open the door and kill the teachers, repeat. If you dont have the key, use the new LFD tool or go buy a stack of blacksmithing keys from the AH for like 3g
60-70 quest http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=26508
Post has a list of quests for 5 zones, should easily be 68-70 and off to northrend. With flying at 60 you will be done in no time.

cool thanks. I was thinking sunken temple, but didn't know if it was good xp. I have to look at a map at sunken temple to see what you mean. I was thinking scholomance, but wanted the mount, but i am going to stick with what i wanted to do making the druid, just to go out in instances and kill stuff. Not going to worry about getting achievements.
Also rethinking the battle chest. It will cost me $40 to get my toon to 60 and then not going to use other account, so i am just going to get the basic $20 one.

I like druids quite a bit.
You can tank (bear), heal (tree), and dps (cat or owl).
Then again, if you are boxing, you'll likely cover all the roles you need.
Depends how many toons you are running.
You mention a battlechest and powerleveling two toons.
And then also mention when you were boosting four shamans.
4x Retribution Pallies + 1x Frost/Blood DK, is a popular melee team.
4x Shaman + 1x Paladin, or 3x Shaman, 1x Warlock/Druid, 1x Paladin. (Could replace Paladin with Bear easily).
5x Shaman, 5x Druid, 5x Rogue, 5x Warlock, 5x Hunter etc.. are fun. (Or add 1x Healer, to 4x whatever).

Alright Starbuck, I'm going to try this - my guys are at about 32 in SM and I'm getting sick of it. :D
That said, my normal loop:
10-20 SFK
20-40 SM - the hard part here is it is VERY easy to go past the 5-in-1-hour rule
40-45 BRD (just the Bael'Gar wing 5 or 6 times)
45-55 Strat (Dead Side, usually through the Service Entrance...if you have Key)
55-60 Ramparts.

The trick to a good boosting instance is being able to leave your alts in a safe spot while you clear with your main. This allows you to focus solely on clearing it as fast as possible without worrying about if they die etc. Also, a dungeon that you can clear in a circular fashion is better to minimize run time. To that end, here's my boosting path:
1-10: Questing.
10-20: SFK. You can leave your alts at the zone in portal and clear the whole instance. On your way back you can save about 2 minutes by jumping onto the roof and then hopping down into the zone in area.
20-35: SM. With my DK I can clear all three wings in less than 12 minutes. You can't leave your guys at the entrance in any of the wings and still get XP but you only have to move them about halfway through on each one--I clear it to half and then move them up while I gather the rest of the mobs. Cake walk.
35-45: ZF. The slowest part. You can clear straight up until you get to the T junction and leave your guys there. Go clear the rest of the instance (it's a circle) including all of the tombs with the zombies in it. Then you can mount up and reset.
45-55: LBRS. I don't know why people take Strath or Schol over LBRS. You can zone in and clear the entrance room and then go down to the drop off and leave your alts there. Then you can drop down and clear all of the orcs and then move your way up through the troll area all the way to your alts. Alts get XP the whole way and you only spend about ~45 seconds inside the dungeon where you're NOT killing mobs.
55-60: Ramparts. I tend to bring alts with me but you can move them forward across the bridge and they'll get XP for the whole instance.
My fastest boost was just over 7 hours. I think you could cut an hour off of that by not wiping and somehow speeding up the 1-10 portion.

shit 7 hours to get to 60... that is what i am looking for. I would have to do LBRS till 60 though sense i am only getting the original game. I thought about it a lot and i think redoing the 1-60 with triple will be faster then the 31-60 with solo xp.
Heres what i did with my retripaladins.
1-10 questing
10-20 RFC (not worth moving to SFK and such once you have started here)
20-40 SM
40-45 ZF (about 1 hour)
45-55 Stratholme
Played about 18h so far, and that inculdes some macro time aswell.
GL. I boosted with a combat rogue untill ZF, then i swiched to a frostmage instead.
edit, typoes.

I found wen i was boosting toons thro SM that i could leave them at the entrances, go get the bosses and work back towards the entrance, pre wrath backwards walking, post wrath the bbble that lasts for a minite, name escapes me at mo, divine sheild to open the door for herald/ catherdral. Its a lot easier with a prot pally than a DK in either dps or tank mode.
And what about stratholme, esp dead side, empty bags, lvls 45-56, i used dead side for faster boosts/ mount runs. and the pally could cleanse (not saying druids can't, have no experiance with playing a druid yet! ) but found strat to be a fast xp instance for boosting and if you get bored, go for a full run.

An easier way (i've found to boost) through SM cath is too leave the boostees at the door run all the way, don't aggro anyone ( sacred shield just incase) open the doors, sacred shield, holy shield, then kill mograine asap. Then make sure you've got atleast 8s left on Holy shield and sacred shield and that you are facing toward all the mobs and get Whitemane down to 10%, she stuns you for 7s, then run back strafing with SS and HS on, jump down the waterfall one Holy Light, turn on retri aura run into the first corridor, all the mobs aggro. Kill!
Are those 7 hour and 18 hour times with RAF and +xp gear?

I just finished getting a quad of paladins to 60 in 19 hours, with lots of AFK time. My paladin was only 74, so couldn't make huge pulls in Scholo or BRD, but I went:
Grind to 10
10-20 SFK - 2 pulls
20-40 SM - 2 pulls
40-45 BRD - 3-4 pulls
45-55 Scholo - 8 pulls
55-60 Ramparts - Multiple
If you do not want to purchase more then Vanilla, you can still do Ramps if you accept the 10-Day Burning Crusade Trial.
Actually, I accepted this trial, then created my Blood Elf Paladins and leveled them to 60 before the Trial expired :p
SFK - Park Toons at Gate. Open Door, run up ramp, circle around into Food Hall, pull mass to gate and kill. Then run up over ramparts to the "nest" area, pulling most Sons of Arugal, bring back to Ramparts near roof where toons are parked and kill. 8 min runs, approx 1 level per run.
SM Cath - Toons at entrance. Kill first mob (he will agro toons). Open Cath Door, agro Mograine and back up to Cath Door. Kill him, then run back to Waterfall. Kill pack at top of Waterfall. Go back to Cath Door, damage Whitemane. Pull Mograine (who will now pull the rest of Cath with him) back to entrance to kill. This pulls all mobs in Cath, except a few Chaplans that leash.
DON'T RESET! You will be wasting your time waiting for instance limit to lift.
SM Arm - Toons at Entrance. Run all the way to Herod without getting agro, this is possible by using the cannons against the walls to jump from, and skirting the wall in a couple sections to avoid the wandering caster. Pull Herod and run all the way back to the First Stairs, gathering the rest of the mobs through proximity. If you can handle it in 1 pull, run around the courtyard as well to collect the 10 mobs there. If you can't manage to get to Herod without getting agro, don't worry about it. You will only lose out on Herod and the 4 mobs he spawns when he's agroed.
BRD - Move toons up to the first 2 agro mobs and park. Pull first large room, venturing out into each of the 4 branches that contain mobs. Rooting mobs are annoying (Wardens).
Scholo - Toons at Entrance. Kill 4 Risen Protectors in entry room. Drop down from bridge to pull all the undead in below room. Pull next room and LOS in the Undead Room, took me 2 pulls. Once this room is cleared of casters, door leading to Jandice opens. Go down there and 1/2 pull all the undead. Coming back up, pull Drake room, LOS around corner. Run back to entrance, DON'T PULL SUMMONERS, tag other mobs on your way. Kill last pull before zoning out and resetting. Fast Fast Fast XP.
Ramps - Toons follow booster around. My Paladin is in DPS gear with a tank spec, so he pretty much blows. I did ramps by pulling maybe 6 mobs at a time (2 groups). It didn't take long to finish a run, and each run gave approx 80% of a level, so not too many runs. Maybe 2 hours total from 55-60. I killed everything, even Orom and Nazan/Orc Dude. If you are going to take on Nazan, note that his fireblasts can hit your toons from anywhere in the zone. You will need to set up movement keys for them and walk them around as he spews fireballs at them. Or just let them die :p all the need is the loot :p
From 60-70, I plan on leveling via AV. Is this recommended? I don't really want to bother instancing or questing solely in BC, and my Paladin is way too crappy to efficiently boost in Shadow Labs or UK. I'm sure I'll be using AV for 71-80.
Hope this advice was useful, and thanks to any answers to my AV question!

For stratholme:
- in enter through service entrance
- put my toons right before the gate to enter the first zone: they are protected from any mobs there (actually i leave them behind the corner when i enter, as soon as the gate closes behind my tank, i move them towards the gate)
- I pull first pack (12/13 on map)
- I pull 2nd pack (green 3 on map) and kill them as where the X is
- I pull 3rd pack (green 2 on map), and here it's getting tricky to get the xp. It's really required that you kill as east as possible. It's a rather large pull and long walk so i save my hand of freedom / divine shield on my pally for when i pull them towards the east, if possible kill them where you killed the prev pack
- 4th zone is done in 2 pulls. first i clear right zone, then i pull the left zone to the right and kill them near the x.
- with looting this takes me about 20 minutes (without looting 13) on my prot pally and gives about 100k xp at level 50 (4 in group)
- i don't do barons run (zones 14/15/etc on map) cause its too frustrating with the spiders throwing a web over you. Unless you have ranged dps to kill them fast, i avoid it as much as possible.

RAF bonus doesn't apply if the toons are getting boosted correct? If so, is it faster to quest with RAF or boost in instances?

Yes, RAF does apply to toons that are boosted in an instance, and it is much faster to Boost 4 RAF toons from 10 to 60 with RAF than to quest. 18 to 24 hours /played (with a decent geared DK/Pally/Druid).
Oh, and Zenga does exactly what I do....though sometimes I throw in the spiders too, just to mix it up.
Edit: Okay, for the new/average boxer, with a decent (200-232 purples) booster, I still say 18 to 24 hours is good.
For someone with much more experience, and really stacked toons....perhaps 7.5 hours is 'normal', but personally I'd say that's "World Class" speed.
Don't want to give new people the feeling they are way off.

7 hours is RAF with no +xp items. Usually 1.5 hours of that is 1-10 questing plus setting up macros.

I boost BRD, Strat and Ramparts with a DK. When a spider webs me, I Death Grip him and chop him up to vent....it's all good!

okay, so at 36 i left SM to go try sunken temple. Just finding your way to zone in is a total nightmare.
regardless, at 36 i was getting a level about every 20 minutes which was a clear of all 3 wings (cath, armory, library+cath againish) It takes me dead on 15 minutes to clear the 3 areas. I was getting about 110 xp per mob.
In sunken temple i did that strat where i left my guys on zone in, cleared 2 rings below and also the dragon circle, took me about 10 minutes after i had done it a few times, at best you could get to 8 minuts, but that doesn't do you any good due to lockouts. It came up to about a level every 35 minutes. I got about 160ish per mob but when you compare it to the million mob zerg in cath it just loses out.
I've done ZF in the past and it felt really slow, maybe i was doing it wrong.
I really hate having to go to 45 in SM though :(, specially since the mobs are 38ish i think?
if anyone knows of any other faster ways to go from 40-45 let me know :)
thx!

After a couple days grinding i got to 60 and now sitting at lvl 68 (3 bars from 69). Thanks for everyone's help, it helped me a ton. This is what i wanted, my lvl 32 druid to be lvl 80 the fastest.
This is what i ended up doing:
- I went out and bought a new original copy of wow ($20)
- Re-actived 2 of my accounts (the lvl 80 dk and 32 druid account) ($30 just did 1 month for now)
- Linked the new account to the druid
- This is where i messed up. If you have been inactive for a couple months you get a free 7 days back, well i never converted my account to battle net so i thought that i had to setup a payment plan to get the 7 days. Nope had to set up a battle net account to get it. So i could have got the account that my druid is on for free, so i could have saved $15
- Created 2 new druids with RAF (i wanted something that i could grind to 10 with quick, i have 5 shams so didn't want shams, so i went with 2 druids. It took about 1.5 hours to get to lvl 10. Haven't done macros for some time so had to relearn. But let me tell you going from 1-10 seemed pretty quick)
- 10-20 did SFK in 3 pulls. Went in with dk, killed first 2 mobs [they seem to always agro low lvls]; bring guys in to fence; pull rooms to the guy that unlocks the door and kill them; i go up the ramp and come back down the dinning room and pull to the fence and kill everyone; next pull all the way to the dog; go back and reset. I didn't time myself, but i think it was taking about 7 minutes a clear with no looting (didn't need anything)
- 20-38 did SM in 2 pulls. The first 2 times i almost died because i forgot how to pull SM. After that it was easy. 1st pull clear outside, with toons at the starting point. 2nd pull toons at the fountain. After a couple pulls i found a secret with the 1st pull with dk, instead of pulling everyone outside and then grouping them up to kill them; well gathering everyone spam blood boil the whole time. When i started doing this i took a lot less damage because the guys would be dieing behind me and toons still got xp. At lvl 32 i switched in my toon i wanted lvled.
- 38-45 ZF tons of pulls. This was the longest time, not only because of the pulls but i needed to loot. The reason for looting to get get my first aid, tailoring, and enchanting up. Didn't need to do in SM because i didn't need that cloth anything. What i did was i kill each group separate, i know i could have pulled more, but didn't want to chance it. If you do the ZF instance make sure that you get the 4 quests that are in there, this will give you about a lvl and a half. You need to be lvl 40 to do the quests, i turned them in around lvl 43 and a 4th.
- 45-60 Strat. Like ZF i needed to loot for the cloth. After i didn't need the cloth it took about 7 minutes if i didn't have the slow buff and 10 minutes if i had the slow buff. stupid druids couldn't remove debuff. I did something like zenga just didn't do his 4th pull, but i did do the spider boss (parked the toons at the gate to start the timed event)
-60-61 grant lvl. I made sure my "friend" toon was 1 bar higher then my main toon. when he hit 60 i granted the other toon a lvl so got my other toon to 60 with only 1 bar left
After all the lvling for my main was done i then granted my other lvl 32 druid with the other lvls. So i now have 2 unused druids at lvl 60 :( oh well.
I don't know how long to took in total (i'll find out later), but i went really fast about like 3-4 days of boosting (not hardcore boosting, here and there boosting). The thing that slowed me down a ton was the stupid 5 instance in an hour rule.
Funny thing was i was going to do the BC trail, but when i got to lvl 55 i forgot about it and next thing i knew it was lvl 60. After power boosting you have almost no gear to go into outland. Even if you have gear it isn't nothing compared to outland gear. What i did was i had my dk do the first couple quests for my druid so i could get my gear, also did 3 Ramp runs (not worth boosting without RAF not much xp), and killed all the elite bosses in hellfire for the quests. After all the first couple quests where done i transfered my druid to my dk account (i have tons of badges and got the xp boosts stuff and weapon). When i put those on i started to attack a lvl 58 pig, it almost killed me. I started to cry a little i was like shit i just payed $25 to transfer to this account and now i cannot kill anything. After about 2 minutes i look at the chat log and see that my defense was at like lvl 20, after boosting that it was easy. The only shitty part was the bracers i had to go into the next questing zone before i could get new ones so the whole time in hellfire i had lvl 1 bracers.
What i found out i love about druids is that i have pretty much no down time with a feral druid. After every 3 battles back to back i put a HOT on and at full health and don't run out of mana because by the time i need healing again my mana is at full. Another great thing is the flight form. The reason is that you can gather stuff and the mobs will not attack you most of the time. What you have to look out for are casters but they are not that bad, by the time you cast a spell you have already looted the item.
