So, now that dungeon finder went live, i´m starting to feel less leaned towards fiveboxing. At first, i started fiveboxing mainly due to the instant group situation, to running instances. But now, with the dungeon finder success, im starting to think i should downgrade my multiboxing setup (maybe to 3 or even 2 accounts)... what are you guys feeling about it?? arenas will still be an issue, specially at 2´s, but battlegrounds are totally playable, and with a triple team we can still deliver some damage lol.

My experience with the lfg dungeon finder is simple: if i join a team with 2 or 3 guys, it ends up in trouble. I only use it solo or with 5. Only people that know what multiboxing is see the advantage of having 3x same dps in their group, the others just whine & complain instead of playing the game.

I've been doing quite a few dungeons with pugs with the new system (got the pet :)).
Mostly with my main (tankadin), later with my mage and my tankadin. (2 boxing)
The groups don't see this, and don't whine.

The speed most pugs clear an instance are insane.
Can't beat that with my own team, not even close. (7 mins for azol narub or whatever it's called)

I tried some on my battlegroup, but wasn't too impressed. I like playing with friends, with my guild, and with my group, but to be honest the average wow player in a pug doesn't appeal to me. Still five box dungeons - My group is relatively geared and I clear dungeons probably just as fast as most and faster than lots of pugs. Also the queue times if you are a dps on my battlegroup can be pretty bad. If the only reason you multiboxed was for instant dungeons, then by all means cut some accounts. Me I actually just enjoy playing five characters more than playing one, and couldn't imagine cutting one of my babies!

I still prefer multiboxing my own dungeons. In 30 minutes, I get 20-30 emblems(depending on if I get a random dungeon that I can box) over five characters or a max of 14 emblems on one character pugging the random heroic. The only time I really use the LFG is for dungeons that have upgrades for me that I can't box myself.

I'm a 3-boxer now, and I've never yet joined a group that complained about the fact that I was multiboxing. Even when I was blundering around trying to tank, heal, and dps at the same time, one of them calmly suggested that he heal instead and I switched my 3rd druid into DPS mode.

/votekick only requires a 3/5 majority

If people aren't willing to make even 1 pull to see how good you are, that is their own problem. If they become jackholes half-way through a run, even tanks/healers can be replaced in a matter of moments.

A few heartbreaking runs and the pug thing is over for me. With pugs it seems that shit happens every fucking pull.

I mean at times on my own I get a slave that runs off into the distance, my multiplexer crashes, the slaves assist on the wrong unaggroed target, I fail to drop the right totem combination, I dps a reflecting damage mob, I get the my left or your left slave strafe messed up when facing the slaves, etc. But those are on my dime 5boxing, and frankly its a rez up and stomp the instance.

With pugs it just gets worse, now someone's upset and is wanding instead of casting spells because you told them not to land amped pyroblast's before your avenger's shield hits the mob.

Ran one pug with my team, just dropped a dps cause I wanted to even out their badge counts. Huntard with 700 dps who wouldnt shut up, yeah no.
These new random pugs are like grabbing a few people off the streets and asking them to fix a car. Half of them dont know what they are doing, some leave and some call you an a$$hat for not handing them the wrench in time, even though they ran around a corner.

The heroics with gear requirement (ToC and ICC 5-mans) seem to be a bit better than the average where people will que up with quest greens :)

PUG have been so bad that I started 5 boxing. Not planning to go on a PUG any time soon.

Yeah that is still the same when you solo it, plus you get the people that have a "imba lvl 80 main" and they are running around on a mage or somthing doing 700 dps, and telling you how to tank and shouting "go go go".

The worst ones i have found tho is the lower end of the LFG, when ur running around as lvl 18's and some ppl still try to play like they are/ have a geared lvl 80, pull to much and cos a wipe.

Maybe it's because I'm playing long past I should have gone to bed, when only other hardcore, hopeless WoW nerds are on :) ... but I queued for two heroics tonight with one of my locks, and everything went totally smoothly. I was by far the lowest DPS on the list (including in a group with a hunter who still had mostly level 200 blues), and though I'm not one to gauge my performance by Recount (e.g. I didn't try to pump up my score by throwing in any AOE), it's some indication that I need to work on my sequence. I wouldn't have known otherwise. So ... random pugs were a good thing. :)

When I go on a PUG I really have a hard time keeping up - with the TEMPO! Shite, I think at least 9 out of 10 times I run with DPS'ers at 3,5-4k DPS and tanks with 40k HP that runs through so fast that any instance is both trivial and fast. Awesome for badges when solo boxing, not so fun when you want to see the place or challenge yourself, hehe.

I'm keeping my team!

Its a bit of a conundrum personally. I started boxing to avoid insane LFG times, and now they aren't so bad. The only reason I have left to box is my completionist attitude of maintaining an 80 of each class.
