Okay, first off, I take every bitch I had about PUGs back. I've been pugging my mage all day, solo, and it's a breeze. No gearscore (my mage is okay geared anyway), no Recount stupidity, no complaining - I fell off the ledge in nexus and they just laughed.
The emblems are rolling in. This is EASY.
I'm not sure when I'm going to have broadband when I move in a few weeks, but I think I'll be able to play one at a time, and if so, I'm totally pugging my gear. I'll let each one expire (one has, one expires in a week, and the rest expire in Feb, then keep one open at a time, and gear 'em all up, so when I'm ready to 5 box again, I'll have most of the badge grind DONE. :)
Now, to learn all 5 classes. LOL. My mage was tipping 3k DPS so no worries there, I'm gonna have to rethink my other toons. The druid may have to go feral, even though she has no gear, and the lock...not sure about the lock, he's got the lowest dps of them all. The pally has ret gear, and the priest will go shadow. DPS all the way, and buy healing gear for holy.

Glad to hear your having fun. IT's hit and miss on my Battlegroup which Gul'Dan is a part of. (not sure which one it is)
Saturdays, and early mornings seem to get the most pleasant people to work with. Sundays though , it seems to be very hit or miss.
Now IF I would just get off my butt and level my other toon so I can farm Nerubian Chitin, I'll be set.

I've gotten 56 Triumphs today, about 200 gold, got the triumph shoulders, got an epic ring, rolled on the bronze drake twice and lost, and have been having a BLAST. This is an entirely different experience than when I had to pug just from my server. I've been in groups where I was top dps (2.5-3K), and was in an UP group with what looked like Ulduar/TOC geared guys, who were doing 4-5k - wow. Took me a few runs to get into chain pulling and managing mana, now it's a piece of cake. I've gotten the achievement for Heroic Gundrak, Drak'thul, UK, UP, CoS, Halls of Stone, Violet Hold, and Nexus.
Damn.
The new LFG: WIN. I'll gear up my guys in no time.

Good for you. Now you can see strategies solo and know exactly what to do when you box them.

Exactly. I'm really enjoying this. I'm done for tonight, rack up another 34 emblems, no big loot. Did AZ for once, I would never get through that place without seeing the fights first. Exalted with Kirin Tor, but nothing I can use.
I saw a DK doing 800 dps, though, I guess they do exist! Couple of sub-1000 hunters too.
I'm also seeing how to get my other characters together to get through this, too. Experimented with AOE, rotations, I have mana management down pretty well. Been having fun with Spellsteal too, I never get to really use that.
One thing that's helped me, is I lay out a table first thing, no asking. I must be an oddball, I get a lot of nice comments. Hey, if they need to res me or buff me, it's the same cost, really. What's 1g to make the run go faster?

I think the new lfg system is fantastic. The vast majority of pugs are a breeze, but I've had a couple where the tank just wants the two frost and wants to skip bosses.
One guy was pulling when the healer had no mana - let the healer get killed. (lied and said he disconnected when I could see him going through his tanking rotation). He said he was going to skip bosses, going to get to the last boss as quick as possible. - we asked him not to. He caused so many problems. And was a total ass when we caught aggro on mobs he just ran by.
So we used the other fantastic thing they introduced. Waited till we got to trash before the final boss and voted his backside out of the group. I can just imagine the nerdrage.
But that's one prat out of loads of groups.
i have to agree with most the comments up there.
I've been playing on and off (mostly off) recently and don't have much time to play. waiting forever to get a group was a big no-no and now it's a breeze.
getting instance in less than 5min (as dps) and gearing my shaman (3rd 80 after paly and druid) nicely for when i can multibox them again.
the LFG system is really good.

It really is a blast - I'm gearing my mage up so fast it's scary.
Got AN done last night, several runs of everything else...gulp...HToC pops up...warn the group, never done this, they say no worries...the place is EASY. We got the pally tho.
In several groups, players were talking how much better it is. Met some really cool players last night, on one run I ended up with two couples, and the comments between the two were hilarious.
I'm 8 badges from the Triumph headpiece, which will be a major upgrade for my mage, after that, it's all Triumph gear, except for the Frost chest, that's what I'm saving for.
Tonight, I'm going to start my Boomkin on her runs. She needs the gear the most, and I can still learn the fights better as a caster. Not *quite* ready to heal or tank yet.
My team will be fully geared for Cata, now. With LFG, you can gear out a character in less than a week. It's *awesome*. No more grinding Moorabi for weeks for one badge a day!

You can gear out a team in less than a week. It took me a while to get the first heroics down and I had to spend some money on gear but once I was able to clear the first few heroics regularly the badges just rolled in. I went 5/5 T9 on my whole team just for giggles, not optimal but I have a thing about sets. 2 bronze drakes and a blue drake so far.
I enjoy the challenge of doing it with the team and getting the team geared and progressing as a team. Working on HToC at the moment and when that is on farm onto ICC.

IT really is a blast. Took about half a dy to farm the Crusader orbs so I could make my Ensorcelled Nerubian Breastplate. How easy is it now to get the chest pieces done, and the rest of the gear is cake.

I keep telling myself that tonight's the night I pug a raid, for the experience and emblems ... and then every night I decide to do something else, because my main is a tank now and I haven't had to put up with criticism of my tanking for over a year now. Multiboxing has made me shy. :)

lol, I can understand that. Only time I tank is for my guild. and even then it is rare as we have built up so many alt tanks. It's just not worth the stress for me anymore, having done nothing but tank on a warrior, then again on a pally for close to two years.
It is just so relaxing to sit back on my DPS shamans, and enjoy the game.

I know, but I can't box for a while - I'll probably be on dial up or a net card for a while when I move in a couple of weeks. So, until I can start boxing again, pugging will be fine. :) I can pug my way to a decent gear level on everyone, and clear on my own for the rest.
