Hi everyone, I don't post much because usually all I can think about is comments to techie things. It's the type of job I have and it's always making me think in that frame of mind, but enough about me... I was thinking on this concept the other day as I'm leveling my 4th team and making a large transfer of world servers that I had never thought it though when I started each team for compatibility with other team toons. So, this move has allowed me to kind of align my toons to the appropriate accounts for how I play these toons. I was wondering how everyone else aligns there toons on the various accounts and how they are used, here is what I mean:

Account 1 <Tanks>
Account 2 <DPS>
Account 3 <DPS>
Account 4 <Healers>
Account 5 <DPS>

I'm sure some of you are wondering why I have healers on the forth account, it's because I started triple boxing, then moved to quad, and finally went for the dreaded "I'm totally hooked to mboxing" dungeon team layout 5th box. Interestingly enough at this point I have opted for the DK + 4 Shammie team, but during the transfers I have moved things around to allow for an extra "fifth" shaman to replace my DK for some BG fun.

So, I have had some very interesting talks with blizzard folks about these transfers and I hear of other mboxers that are transfering heavy amounts of toons as well. Is this the case of server moving or account transferring to re-balance the accounts to work better? Have others who are just starting out even considering these mixes and the types of considerations for team rebuilding? I know the ones that have been around for a while do this without even thinking about it because you can tell by the way they have either personnel guild lay out or the fact that I have seen them online with different mixed groups.

Can some of the veterans share your thoughts on account building and considerations for teams that you think about or just do as it has become natural to your layout system?

The organizational approach is neat.

I've tried to have a tank viable toon on each account.
As well as a dedicated healer type as well.

Which would allow for a lot of mix and match play.

But having all of one, essentially is like a menu.
Take your choice from this box, and then your choice from another, etc.
Basically works out the same, but is probably easier to organize.

Mostly I build teams as sets of characters.
And they stay together.
Although I did move a Paladin to my 5x Shaman group.
And moved the 1x Shaman to my mixed group of casters.

I use a similiar approach.

Acct 1 = Tank/Healer/DPS .. this could be with dualspec or without.
Acct 2 = DPS
Acct 3 = DPS
Acct 4 = DPS
Acct 5 = Tank/Healer/DPS Same here as acct 1.

accts 2-4 hold all my dps and like Ualaa said it is a kind of menu. I mix and match as I need. This allows me to try a lot of different combinations and varieties of gameplay. Acct 1 and 5 I have had forever and a day when I used to dualbox the old inefficient way of tank/dps teamed up with a healer. clicking on each screen separately.. lol.

I use a similar approach, atm i'm only tri-boxing until I get my new pc (hopefully soon):

Acc 1: DPS (all toons 60+ with 2 80's)
Acc 2: DPS (Level 80 boosting toon, transfer to acc 1 when 3&4 all 60's))
Acc 3: DPS (All toons 40+)
Acc 4: Heals (All toons 40+)
Acc 5: Tanks (Will be linked to acc 2 for RaF grind)

But as i'm going for one of each class on each account, I will have a large mix of toons to choose from eventually. Gonna get a PvE team to 80 first, then gear up and grind badges for heirlooms to make levelling easier for the other toons. I find putting all the slaves in my own guild much easier for levelling and storing items (Legio Altus (http://eu.wowarmory.com/guild-info.xml?r=Steamwheedle+Cartel&gn=Legio+Altus))

I came up with some fancy setup done in Excel before I started RAF. I am limited to only 6 slots on my main account (keeping my 4 current toons on the opposite faction) and had certain things I wanted to get max RAF level while leveling. so after getting a paladin as my main 5box tank on my main account I can be more flexible as I level my other groups. I'm planning on having a "main" tank and healer on my 1st and 5th accounts with the occasional tank/healer spread around in the other 3 accounts. Since I don't have a way to get boosted, I'm having to manually level all my teams. Having a tank and healer on the 5th account will allow me to gift to my 3rd and 4th team and use that tank/healer as theirs. So I'll split time between the tank/healer on my 1st and 5th account, but still get 4 viable teams for instancing with. I also manage to get all 10 current classes on my 1st and 2nd accounts, that way if I decide to downscale down the road, I can keep 2 accounts but still have access to all classes.

In the end I'm still just doing a modified Tank/DPS/DPS/DPS/Healer where I can swap my tank and healer slots.

Really good feedback and nice breakdown of how each of you are handling the layout, I know this info can help anyone who is considering more than 2 or 3 accounts to box with on any game.

When i signed up with wow a few months ago i decided to:

Tank on 1 (leader of the pack)
DPS 2
DPS 3
DPS 4
DPS/Healer 5

The healer on 5 because i considered him the sucker of my group :P

I kept that layout as the alt teams i level up can make use of the same healer(s) in the future. This is the account that can't get granted levels. So it makes it easier to share a healer among teams.
