Hey guys,

I have been posting on the wow suggestion forums because I opened up a ticket with a gm because i can not to a heroic daily anymore. I have 5 shaman team and you must have a class that can que as a tank. Anyway, the gm told me to post on the wow forum's under suggestion. So I did and now i am getting trashed by a forum troll or a boxing hater. So if you agree or disagree with my post please give me some input.

Advice: don't feed the trolls

Sadly this, the suggestion forums are filled with people who are just waiting for an opportunity to attack.

You have to try and be a little more diplomatic with people over there and flat out ignore the people who are only there to attack and not read the suggestions.

Wow forums have an ignore feature also. Works great for the resident trolls.

If I agreed with your post I would have posted "I would like to queue my non-tank class character as a tank for the random dungeon".

Overtly saying you want to do prearranged / premade groups with your non-tank classes for the random dungeon likely isn't seen as a problem with Random dungeon as some of the response say in the wow thread.

Its not likely your queuing your shaman (as tank if you could) to play with people randomly.

Unless they have removed the troll posts, i can only see 1 'get a life' where he quotes you saying that you box. The others give you a hard time, which seems to be the idea of a suggestion forum: discuss the pro's and con's. That being said: it's called heroic, the highest challenge in the game, if you want to make the challenge harder for yourself that should only be encouraged. So pre made teams should be free about their roles. On the other hand i'm a new undergeared lvl 80. To learn instances i might queue with 1 toon as a dps or healer. And i really don't want to be put in a group where the tank is a dps as well, it's already hard enough this way :p

- remove check for pre made teams
- keep check for random teams

Hard thing to make it happen, still you can do them the "normal" way instead. Not much to make a fight about IMO, better to just go with the flow. It will create so much problems for blizz that its not worth it. GL :)

Hadn't realized the LFD was that restrictive. Does it look at spec? or just class?

I suppose it's necessary given that it's cross-battlegroup and some dufus would sign up as a tank when they are a mage or something.

So much for Blizzard thinking outside of the box on this one. The holy trinity will forever live on.

The tool was made to help random people group together and complete an instance.
I doubt many of the random people out there you might party with would like your shaman (or why not priest/mage) to queue as tank.
The difference in your case is that you're not after a random group at all, you have your group already sorted and just want the benefits of the LFG system (unlimited heroics, extra badges etc) I guess

In short, you're using the tool for something that it is not designed for, and unfortunately i doubt this will be changed.

I'm going to disagree with OP. I like this system as far as tank/healer/dps to stay the way it is.
Making it otherwise would allow mages to queue as tanks etc, justy one more tool for assholes to be able to grief people.

There's other, more important, changes and fixes/tweaks that need to be made to the LFD system.

Not sure that the argument about random LFD not being designed for a premade group really stands up. If this were the case, they should really change it so that you can only queue as an indivdual. How many groups here use random LFDs to crank extra gold/embems out of the system? I know I do. More to the point, I have guildies that form groups then use random heroics in exactly the same way.

My fix to the system would be simply to remove role requirements when a full group queue in random. If they don't want this to be possible, then make it so that a full group can't queue.

Couldn't agree more. There are more douche bags than multiboxers. In turn, the douche bags would just abuse the system and grief everyone else.

People have already addressed this - only skip the role check when it's a full group queued up for randoms. That way there is no problem at all.
