View Full Version : NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2
Anyone got some info on this card. The only leaked info I can find is a few pics and someone saying it will be 30% fater then an 8800 ultra.
2xgpus per card with quad sli.. would that make it 8 gpus total?
Also with it being 30% faster then an 8800 ultra does that mean in quad sli it would be 120% faster then the 8800 ultra is tri sli.

Let me cast your mind back a few years...
People were saying this about Dual Core Processors. Back when the FX57 was king of kings.

Oh Im well aware of that, I was more referring to the pictures, I mean it a big ass black thing with a PCIX strip on it and in this day and age with the masters of photoshot around you can make anything look like anything. Like I said I dont doubt that a dual gpu card is in the near future, but those pictures in that article look 'meh' to me.

I doubt this is faked. This is nothing new, they have already done it before. This is just like the 7950GX2. It's not 2 GPU per card, it's two cards, one piggie backed to the other. Probably 2x8800GT PCB's. Think people with 7950GX2's had a bunch of problems and I have no reason to believe the 9800GX2 will work out any better. Will wait for a real upgrade to the 8800ultra myself and not bite on this monster mash fusion of two cards.
