View Full Version : Auto-follow nerf?

Alright, so I recently started two-boxing a month ago. Yesterday, I logged on to my two accounts (using one computer), and started setting up the bars ( I use keyclone). This is the problem: I put my druid on follow, switch over to my other instance of wow, and my druid wasn't follow me! I switch over to my druid, and he follows the hunter. Switch back, not following. I turned off all of my add-ons to see if they were interfering with the following mechanism, but nothing worked. This has been happening ever since the recent patch, so I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue, or if I may have some new feature turned off. Please reply.

Keyclone doesn't do auto-following as far as I am aware. You must have it setup in macros or be using an addon like Jamba. Auto-following definitely still works with Jamba.

Your keybindings might have changed. Which key do you press (if any) when switching between your characters and do you have anything bound to that key, like a follow macro?

I got this "bug" too after last patch. I use Keyclone and this "bug" seems to happen with every macro I have on my slave clients. Follow macro was first that I noticed was not working.

This is avoidable if you don't minimize your wow clients to task bar, but keep them open and maximized. If I use Follow macro when I have slave clients minimized, nothing happens.. but when I maximize client window, macro executes.. like it's waiting me to look what is happening.

Something is preventing macros to be run (or waits until window is maximized) when window is minimized.

I hope this will be fixed, way or another.

WoW may have changed the conditions under which it handles keyboard input, deferring execution until it is maximized again. I've never played with clients minimized, so I can't confirm this for sure, but it sounds like the issue.

If this is a big problem you can play with the windows open/maximized but in the background, I run this way with no issues... Hope that helps if you can't find another way to work it out.

i dont think its new, at least to me. If i used a macro for follow focus it almost never works when the window was minimized to the task bar. always leave the slave windows opened. just make them really tiny if you want. I always leave my windows up and aout 1/2 the size. No problems since patch.

I have never had to keep those windows open/maximized.. and keeping them open slows fps on my main quite alot. But, it seems to be only way to avoid this bug.

Would be great to know why this started happening after previous patch though..

My friend has same problem, with some other program.. also since last patch.
