Does this seem like a good combination?
Prot pala / Disc priest / Shadow Priest x 2

Do it if you really want to do it, but I don't see it being that good because a priest will be in shadowform to DPS and would have to switch out of it to heal, unless you made one of them a dedicated healer. Even then, I don't think there is much synergy here. What do you want to do with this team?

Why four toons and not five?

Prot Pallies are superb tanks, a strong option and easy to macro.
Disc Priests are great healers too.

Not sure how shadow stacks up now, although it was supposed to be buffed in 3.3.

If this is a pvp composition, I'd ditch the Paladin for another caster.
If it's a pve group, I'd probably exchange the two shadow priests for say a warlock and an elemental shaman.

Not saying don't go with priests, if that's what you want to run...

I personally know a few shadow priests who were always high on the DPS charts while raiding. It's all personal preference. The buffs they got will make them a bit interesting to play but keep in mind that dpsing as a shadow priest end game in heroics or in raids requires micromanagement like an affliction warlock due to all the dots and the haste change (where dots fall off early due to haste)

I play 4 because I play with a friend a lot. That way we can do stuff together without I have to drop one.
Also, with the new group find system it won't be hard to find an other dps for heroics.

I'm not planning to use my team for PVP

I've been thinking of swapping the two shadowpriests out for hunters. (any input on this?)

I don't want shamans or druids or mages because I already played these.

Your group will work with Shadow Priests or Hunters, either way.

I like to spread my classes around, so gear has a greater chance to be useful to at least one toon.
But playing two of the same, generally makes macros easier.
