2v2 Arena Boxing Class Pairing Discussion

I'm a long time dual boxer of wow (like 4 years) and I'm wondering if anyone has ever been real successful in 2's. I've read a lot of the PvP posts today and it seems the most successful comps are in the 3's and 5's brackets (ele shaman, melee cleaves).

I've been struggling to get above 1300 hundred dual boxing a rogue (main control) and a resto druid. The rogue has 245 weapons and both have around 900 resil. I'm a programmer by trade so I know my way around macros and such. I basically have the tree following me around with a click cycle that keeps up rejuv, swiftmend, and bloom x3 up constantly on the main target - if those are up it will regrowth, and nourish x 3 before the cycle repeats. This forces me me to focus the melee DPS on melee, if it switches to the rogue (the heal spam will continue on the druid if there is no target, or an enemy target).

It's fun but I came to the forum looking for some improvement. I have a lot of other level 80s on the accounts, not as geared, but I'm considering class changes for a better 2's set up.

Who's the highest rated comp in the forums for 2's?

I haven't actually heard of anyone doing 2's in here. Most are playing 5's, I think I've heard about a couple of 3's, but no twos. I think your result is pretty good, considering the strong point of boxers is usually focus-fire. I'd love to hear more about people 2-boxing if it's doable.

I'm working on rogues myself at the moment (intended for BG's mostly). They're not level 80 yet, so just theorycrafting - have you encountered any dual rogue teams in 2v2?

Boxing a healer means that healer will always be out of postion for a switch,ManaBurn(druid I know) and CC.

Turn that resto into feral or boomkin. Between a KS(if you have IKS) you should be able to put enough pressue on their healer that the game is pretty much over or the momentum is so much in your favor that its over. I have had a bit of success boxing 2s/3s but am hesitant of posting too much about it here. I dont want groupies or a cult following. However, with that said there are a bunch of good combos and in fact I believe all double dps teams(minus mage) can get to 1800, if not higher(but whats the point in 2s). If you utilize your instant CCs/sliences on the correct target you will do fine. I am fond of having at least one class with an execute type ability if not both classes. The cool thing about boxing is you dont have to call out who has the next slience/CC/interupt on vent because its just you. ;p

That's my buddy's 2's team. He was doing pretty good but got bored due to games taking forever as a 2's team with no MS and we're having more fun with our 3's team. That may be the highest anyone's gotten dual boxing (recently at least) in arenas - 2's are extremely competitive and synching doesn't gain much of any benefit in 2's. 3's and 5's are way easier to box.

I do know of atleast 3 teams 2v2 ranging between 2k-2100 that are boxed. However, I doubt you will see him/her posting/boasting because they just dont care about that sort of stuff. Hell you might not even be the highest 5s arena boxer....we never knew about you until you started posting about it.

The idea that you know of 3 clandestine 2v2 boxers over 2k seems a bit farfetched. If you're going to downplay someone else's achievements at least link some proof.

The original poster asked who was the highest 2's boxer. I answered to the best of my knowledge. He didn't ask for advice from someone who's never boxed with any success in arenas, or for someone to create "at least 3" fictional teams over 2k.

Do you really care? He has done well in 2s for several seasons. whoopde fricken do. He doesnt play to impress the wowpvpdbfuriousnerds. All I am saying in this entire thread is that just because people post their "3000 rating in 3 hours!!" doesnt mean other people are not doing the same thing or god forbid better. Declaring you're the best because you are the only one to boast about it is just stupidity. Anyone with half a brain could come to that conclusion.

Edit: I wanted you to have the last word, but I never made fun of your buddy's team and I never said the 3 2s teams that I know of were the highest rated, only that they were currently at a higher* rating than your friends and that you shouldn't assume.
