Hi all!

I am theorycrafting and am trying to get ideas from those more experienced than me with warlocks and hunters.

Question: What is the simplest attack macro/spec i can get for warlocks and hunters for instance badge farming?

(for example: with frost mage and pretty much nothing but frostbolt spam I was able to get pretty close to 4k dps non heroism. easy to box and good synergy with the team with the replenishment effect & +5 crit to group. or with my shammies I pretty much did 80% lightning bolt spam with a few chain lightning tossed in. again, this was simple to box and macro and took a minimum of concentration)

so for warlocks, am I right in assuming destruction would be the easiest to box with just shadowbolt spam? never boxed warlocks before in instances. do i even bother with curses? (curse of elements I assume is needed for bosses if boomkin or unholy dk are absent, but otherwise is it even worth it as trash die so fast.)

and for hunters. is marksmanship the way to go? will steady shot spam be sufficient, or must I mess with cast sequences to begin to even tap some of the max dps potential? if i can get by with 80% efficiency with steady shot spam i'm fine with that. unless there's another spec i should go with? which pet do you pick for group synergy?

again, looking for folks who have experience running these 2 classes through wotlk heroics. any feedback would be appreciated. if these are viable i might renew my subscription for a month to putz around with them to spoonfeed them some 3.3 epics. :D

thanks in advance to any who can help!

Destro locks are more fire based than shadow now. The only time I throw a shadowbolt now is when i'm up against an elemental immune to fire.

However if you check out the click macro compendium thread (in fact i think it's been updated on the wiki) there is a /click macro sequence for warlocks. You will be able to mash one button and put out really nice DPS with a warlock group.

There is a hunter macro for surivival as well i think.

I'm presuming you are only running these as the dps and that you will have a tank and healer as I don't think they could do heroics otherwise.

very TOP of the macros and addons section of the forums... stickied.. and one of the most popular things on the forums. Takes 2 seconds to do a search. :P

If you looking to spam one spell like frost bolt, warlock isn't going to really work that way. Your going to need a real click cast rotation.

My buddy and I are seeing a lot of succes with BM Hunters.

You're going to have to learn to write macros though.

I have a one button spam, warlock click macro.

It calls five other castsequence macros.
The first is CotE, which I manually pull out of the rotation, except for bosses.
Others in order are Immolate, Conflagrate, Chaos Bolt and then Incinerate as the fall through.

My click macro using both trinkets.
And command /cast [pet:imp] Fire Bolt.

I'm generally happy with the warlocks DPS.

Ty to all for the feedback.

So it seems like the consensus is that to get good efficiency out of the warlocks, then go with click macros. Will go work on that then. ty all again. :)
