I found a unit frame addon that has plenty of options but not too much shit to bog you down

also it has a copy and paste import export feature for the layout so you only have to config for 1 toon then just copy and paste the config for all

also seems to be low on mem usage like less than 900kb

Link is here (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/shadowed-unit-frames.aspx) its called shadowed unit frames

ps i have a copy of my hunter layout with emphasis on the pets since i tank at lvl dungeons with them if you want
just pm me and ill give it to you i would just post it here but its too long

Interesting. It looks _exactly_ like Pitbull.

SUF is a lot like pitbull4, I think the template system is just spot on where pitbull4 will be going.

What might be most useful is the ability to easily share / copy configs from one player to another with cut and paste from within the addon.

You could have a whole section just for the layouts people could post them and you just copy and paste
and bingo new layout people could build the layout copy and paste the export to a notepad text doc to save it and copy and try 1000 more from other users and if you dont find one you like better just copy and paste yours back in and done

Does the unitframes have an option to show party members' cast bar? If so, I may switch to this addon from x-perl.

YES
And it has nice options for the cast bars as well

The addon will show cast bars for

Player
Party
Party pets
Pet
Target
Focus

But not

Target of target
Focus target

I've installed this and this is the first unit frame that does not overwhelms me, and most importantly that comes with an intuitive configuration. Most other UI's that i've installed resulted in 1 big clutter and i disabled them right away. Might be that they are as good, but they were just not my kind of thing.

great tip!

Doesn't X-perl do this? I see my party casting bars in my party window. Not sure if this is what you mean? or you wanted something else.

SUF looks good though. I never tried Pitbull, been using X-perl for a long time and just never bothered to switch to anything else.

yes, x-perl does show party cast bars. I was wondering if shadow frames does, it not, then I will stick with x-perl.

Ah, sorry. I just misinterpreted what you wrote.

I herd the default blizzard unit frames don't require patches and always work.

Yeah but they look god awful..... I had some LUA errors after patch, and accidentally clicked on "disable" when it popped up... i couldnt stand it.

I use xperl and have been very happy.

They don't require patches? What happens on Tuesdays? Oh yeah, that's when the NPCs get to sit down for a few hours. ;)

I am a new adopter of SUF. X-Perl always gave me random issues I could never track down. So far SUF has been exactly what I have been looking for to replace xperl.

As far as Pitbull is concerned, when I tried it, I was stunned by the amount of time required just to get up and running. Call me lazy or whatever, I just want things to work when I plug them in. It is nice to have options to change things but I do not want to configure them all on initial install before I can attempt to play. It may be different now, but it ruined me back when I tried it.

I tried this - thanks for the tip. This is the first unitframe addon I have found that allowed me to stop using Discord Unit Frames. Took me a couple of hours to get setup the way I wanted it (and it still doesn't look quite as nice as Discord) but this is far better than PitBull.

Pitbull only allows frames to be sized based on the restrictive sliders. This means that if the Healthbar can slide from 1-100 and you want it to be 103 wide ... you're out of luck. With SUF you can type in 103 and it actually goes to that width (or, in my case, 600) This is really nice because I have the Player Health Bar take up most of the bottom of the screen (so I can see it on the 1/4 sized slave screens).

I saw someone ask if this supported cast bars - the answer is Yes - for just about any frame you can add a cast bar.

No profiles which is a negative - so you can't really switch between UI configs.

Question: Is there a way to change the Party Sort order? Right now it is set to Index. I can change the Raid sort order to Name ... but not the Party sort order.

I've been using pitbull 3 for a long time, looked into shadowed unit frames, and vuhdo unit frames, but waiting for them to start getting updated less frequently was in vain. So i'm still using pitbull, and pretty happy with that for now.

Updates LESS frequently? Not sure I understand - I like the fact that they are in active dev. I don't want a stale app.

Pitbull only allows frames to be sized based on the restrictive sliders.

Which version of Pitbull are you using? PitBull 4 allows you to manually input numbers as well.

I'm using Pitbull 3.x, which is very customizable, and displays all the information I want.

My only knock on it, is needing to copy the .LUA file, to have the same set up on each toon.
No option for import/export from one account to another.
But this was relatively fast.. navigate, copy, navigate and paste x4.

Pitbull only allows frames to be sized based on the restrictive sliders. This means that if the Healthbar can slide from 1-100 and you want it to be 103 wide ... you're out of luck. This is incorrect. In my config, there is a text box next to each slider where you can click it, select the text, type in a number and hit enter. ;)

Looks like you got one that works for you, though, which is all that matters. Grats!

Uhg - I tried that. I type in 104, hit <Enter> and it changes to 100 :(

Though that was in PB4 I think.

As you said though, I found one that works which is what I wanted.

SUF is still missing some options I would like, but since it is still in active dev I have hopes.

is there a way to put the group in alpabetical order for easier healing? or does someone know another addon to help with this?

<- SUF fan aswell. Always used pitbull, but can't be bothered with the chinese config options they have atm. I don't even want to configure everything, just fix in 2 min and go. Exactly what SUF does.

I've switched to SUF.
It is closer to the set up I had with Pit Bull 3.x then Pit Bull 4.x is.

Most of the raid unit frames do this, suf/pitbull. Sort by natural/class/name and maybe role, often I wish there was a secondary sort, but they all seem to do natural.
