Hey all,

I'm a retired multiboxer who's looking at getting back into it for the new expansion. I'm just wondering, will the new expansion be required to even pick the new race/class combinations? I don't mean picking the new races, but say I wanted to make dwarf shamans or troll druids. Do I have to shell out the money for all 3 expansions on each account just to get started?

Thanks for the info.

Probably so.

No one knows for sure, and really it might just be options opened for everyone.
A ton of the things in Cataclysm will affect others, even without the expansion.

The raised level cap, and path of titans will likely be expansion only.
I'd imagine the new raid zones, and heroic old world stuff too.

Talents, is just extra points but they come from the five levels.

You sure there wont be any new talents? Only more talentpoints?

I share the same understanding, that the talentrees won't be redone, but we get more talentpoints to be even more flexible.

Soon all classes will be able to play all roles and have all spells and all talens :)

Atleast this is sorta the trend isen't it?

I would bet that no, they aren't going to require the expansion. Could be wrong though.

The talent trees will be overhauled so there will be different talents to what there are now. There will most likely be less talents overall with more points to spend. This is so you can pick up the "fun" talents without gimping yourself.

They did say, the trees won't be getting deeper.
But everyone will have five more points, from the five additional levels.

And that talents will be "fun".
Rather then straight 1% gains for 1 talent point.

And something like "mastery", which is a bonus you get.
Based on the total number of points in a tree.

Believe it when I see it.

Why would you think no? That's like people thinking they'd get BE's, Draeni, horde paladins and alliance shaman without buying BC

It's not like that at all. With BC you got access to be's and goats which you needed to have to be a shaman/pally. Since they are changing the class availability to different races that you have access to without cataclysm, there's no reason to believe you need it to pick a specific class. Taurens will be able to be paladins so you should be able to be a tauren pally without any xpac.

I bet you will be able to create the new combinations soon as patch 4.0 comes out which should be a few weeks before the cataclysm release. You won't be able to make any goblins or worgens until you buy it.
