Random dungeon requirements

So I tried queuing for a random dungeon with my level 70 shaman team. The levels for nexus are listed at 69-80. When I queue with 4 70's and 1 80, I get the message that "One or more party members do not meet the requirements for the chosen dungeons".

Is the 80 too high? Are my shaman not geared enough? Are they just too far apart in level?

All my shaman can queue individually.

Regular Nexus is rated as green, and the yellow dungeons don't start until Gundrak at level 74.

Anyone know the rules that I'm stumbling into?

Are all 5 shaman? You need at least 1 tank.

why bother even using the random dungeon tool since your not lv 80? just go there and run in the instance, this will probably allow it to work normally.

I tried queing up with my 4 shaman and a buddy's fresh 80 pally tank. It would not let me check off Regular FoS to que for.........saying that the tank didnt have good enough gear!
I laughed my ass off. So we had to do it the "old" way and just fly there.

There's 2 emblems of triumph, for the first normal run in a day.
No badges after that, for normals.

I'm queueing one geared out 80 dk with my 4 poorly geared shaman. The 4 man team can all queue as a group no problem. There are only three eligible dungeons, all having ranges going up to 80.

There is no other clue though as to why they are denied.

I'll try some more combos tomorrow, 1 tank, 1 shaman, etc...

hmm...oh, it was the level 80 queueing us. That was most likely the problem.

I was all hopeful for a second. I tried queuing with my level 70 as leader and no luck. Only 3 dungeons are listed under "random lich king dungeon" and all three of those (Nexus, UK, AN) are listed as going up to level 80. They are also listed under the specific dungeons for my level 80.

So for now I'll just assume that characters have to be within a certain range of each other and try again at 71.


As for the benefits of running it as a random:
2 Emblem of Triumph (first run)
14.8 gold (first run - second run unkown)
33100 exp - probably

That's a quest and a half of exp for doing a random dungeon, which is a nice little bonus at the end of a run which pulls a lot of exp on its own.

You get 2x frost for the heroic daily random.

I haven't had time to try this out or play at all since patch day, but would my pally team (4x of them) be able to use this LFG feature alone without filling out the 5th slot if I don't want to run with anyone else? Even if I select each role for them to play?

Yes, you can join with your entire team, part of a team, or solo. Very easy interface to use.

Don't feel bad, my team was Gearscored by Blizzard out of about half the NORMAL lvl 80 instances. It won't let me go to a heroic at all. (Just hit 80 a day or 2 ago, lol combo some rep gear and quests w/ a cpl epics from Hallows End.)

LoL having Blizzard tell you that you suck hmmm well sucks.

I had some issues with my group (80 pally 3 shaman and a druid) but it worked for me after I ensured I had ticked all three roles - tank, healer and dps.

I had a few more runs today and ended up in some mixed groups of my one low level character joining random and a couple high levels who joined specific. The consensus seems to be that the high levels can't get a random dungeon that cons green to them. Which means the first one that an 80 can get from random is Gundrak which is a level 74 dungeon. Until then I'll just level up normally or join specifics with my tanks.

Just a quick question, don't want to de-rail, but it sorta fits here... Will you still get the "Luck of the Draw" buff when queing all five toons or is that only for when you PuG?

You still get the buff when queuing a premade group as long as you queue for a random dungeon.

my level 80 paladin with 33k hp is locked out of some dungeons saying im not equipped well enough for it... Im guessing its my BC iLev 88 defense trinket I have yet to upgrade. But when I queue for a random, ive done almost all of them now even though im unable to check them for a non random.

I wish it had more stringent gear requirements for H HOR. I've queued for that one every day on my rogue wanting the OH sword from the Lich King escape, and I keep getting stuck with people with GearScore's of 3500-4000. Which means I've yet to complete even one boss in a heroic PUG.

Now if my guildies would stop running it before I logon each night, I could actually finish it. Done it once with guildies, and that's the only time I've completed it.



Also, I'm curious what the queue time is for a solo prot pally L75 looking for "Random LK Dungeon". I'm planning to turbo my protadin ahead of her team by queuing and doing random LK dungeon as a tank. Full rested, so I should be able to go quite a ways blitzing through random dungeons, and I'm hoping that by queuing as a tank, I'll have a short to non-existent wait time.

Badge of Tenacity? I had it for some time and was able to queue.

The only way I've seen is to start the group with 4, then kick the tank, invite your last and he'll get summoned in. The last one in, however, does not get the extra badges or gold.
