I have an Asus G71Gx ( http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=j9EAEJubYZtCZDcP ) .

Specs: Intel® Quad™ Core Processor Q9000 : 2.0 GHz
Windows7 Ultimate 64
6GB RAM
Geforce GTX 260M 1GB DDr3
320GB HD x2

I just started dual boxing and have been extremely pleased with performance so far. I run both windows at almost max settings. I turn the shadow quality to low on the slave. I am extremely interested in 5 boxing later on next year if funding becomes available for me to do so. I am playing WoW and I am plowing into this to get the most out of my RAF xp bonus before the time runs out. I also have Verizon Fios at 20MBdown 5MB up, so everything seems to run great. I also have an external Samsung 22inch monitor I hook up at home. What would you guys recommend to look into as I prepare for 5 boxing? Thanks in advance for any advice.

2gb more ram
if you want to upgrade processor a bit

otherwise you are fine, if you put your alts on 30fps like MOST people do.

8GB RAM is not a requirement for five boxing. 6GB will do fine, although you might dip into your page file in areas such as dalaran.

Processor is fine. You do not need an i7 rig just for multiboxing. Yes, it does provide a good amount of performance, but there's no good reason to get an i7 rig if you already have a good one.

edit: And there's nothing shabby about 4GB.

I actually 5 box quite fine with 4 gig of ram. I am careful with addons but each client only uses about 600mb.
I am running Windows 7
