I could use some advice as im a total n00b in BC instances.

I have just cleared Sethekk Halls, wuhu (normal lvl) and I was thinking about what I should try now. I only wiped a handfull of times (yes I suck sorry), always do to my tank being charmed.... wtf should I do about that? I healed through it, dps through it, but mostly I died when this happened.

Please bear in mind I have almost no expertise in instances.

I would like to know which instances you think I should hit now?

I've heard that shadow labyrinth suck because of fear. What would you suggest? Go for one of the lvl 70 instances?

Or would this be to hard?

I could just jump into some of the instance, but if some of them are really difficult to box, I would probably get frustrated and quit or something. So instead of enduring the pain of wiping all the time, I could use a pointer in the right direction.

The fear in SL does suck, but only a few mobs do it, and you can always pick your ground so that the inevitable fear doesn't mean a wipe. SL is one of my favorite BC instances, with interesting boss fights (time for FUN!) and a couple rooms that insist on delicate pulling. You should definitely do it once. I've got my new DK/shaman team up to 68-ish and would love to hit SL, 'cept I still haven't beaten Ikiss for the key. :)

For the Sethekk charms, try adding /tar Charming Totem to the end of your assist macro. It will sit there quietly until a totem appears, at which point you'll blast it and the macro will continue working as usual. If you don't want to do it that way, just keep an eye out for it and kill it ASAP. Time-lost controllers are the ones who drop it.

Are you running bear, tree, 3x boomkin?

The bosses in SL can be a problem. The AoE fear of the 1st boss is a royal pain for some groups but you should be able to burn the boss down pretty quickly and shouldn't get hit with the fear more than once or twice.

The 2nd boss is different for every class combo. It is a long fight and your group will get spread around his entire room. Just getting everyone in range and facing him uses up valuable time that could have been used to DPS. He doesn't hit very hard so the fight is more about regrouping between "FUN!" phases.

The 3rd boss is not too tough. Need a bit of kiting but easily manageable.

Final boss is only a problem if you have melee dps.

Yes this is my setup. I tweaked the dps macros yesterday prior to hitting Sethekk Halls, and using target dummies I was able to improve them a bit. I haven't setup Click macros or Proc macros yet.

On a target dummy if I manage it manually on one of my boomkins, I can get nearly 900 dps. Probably not very good but my gear suck. My new macro can do 650 dps... so its a pretty big loss there. But I diden't run out of man at all.
And the boss fights in Sethekk Halls was a laugh... especially the last boss... diden't even have to heal my tank more than 1 or to rejuv - lol.

Thanks for the tip on the totem... diden't even see it there haha And now that I know which mob that charms me, im gonna have another go at the instance tonight and see how fast I can kill the instance.

Also, picked up a nice head piece which I have gemmed (wuhu my first gemmed item) which got my tank above 10k hp, which is also a first for me.

Even though I wiped, and im a bit to high level, I think this instance was very short and easy. I might hit SL tonight aswell, as I usually do "okey" when my tank is being feared. Just rejuv+regrowth. But lets see.

Ill probably get wacked lol. Can't wait until im lvl 70 to try some of the other instances in BC.... and when I get my last 3 boxes with the WOTLK expansion, ill hit northrend.

And I guess ill take advantage of the "Beserk" ability to disable some of the fear in SL.
