My shaman team are 68 or thereabouts now so potentially ready to hit Northrend. Unfortunately, only 2 of the accounts have 80s on them to purchase the cold weather flying item, so it would mean they'd be bound to land. I don't know if I can be bothered with that!

I was thinking that I could just continue questing in Outland until I've done all the ones I can face...I reckon that could easily get me into the early 70s. So far I've only done Hellfire Peninsula...then went straight to Nagrand...hardly done anything there.
I was thinking that when I've done all the question I can be bothered with I can either
- try my hand at the Outland heroics on the 5 team - adding in some battle grounds
- level solely in the battlegrounds
- swap in the pally tank and farm the northrend instances

I know it's not gonna get as much XP as instancing, but is it going to be that much slower? Does it seem like a valid way or will I get bored stupid?

with the new LFG system and 70-80 random instance quest reward being triumph badges... just sit ur ass in town and join LFG as group... instant port into instance.. complate it and when u hit 80 have enough badges for loads of epics.. win win win :D

Awesome....I'll need to try that out. I wonder if you get the BC badges for doing the same.

All of those methods are pretty slow

Yeah, I didn't expect them to be all that quick, especially considering the queue times for BGs in the 61-70 bracket! It was more of a means of not getting insanely bored....but if that does work getting triumph badges for doing random instances on normal mode, then I can get myself tons of badges from throwing some farming runs into the mix.

I just got my first 2 emblems of triumph at 77 :D. I am going to be able to buy triump gear before I even hit 80 lmao.

You only get 2 triumph ONCE per day for normal dungeons. So this is NOT viable.

Well, once per day, might be worthwhile, as you're in the leveling up stage.

Northrend at 68, will be faster then Outland.
But if you want maximum gold, then stay in Outland until quests grey out.
You'll have a lot of quests to do, at 80th.

The flying is very nice, but the game was doable prior to having cold flying books to mail.
In the end, the toons are yours, so you make the call.

Well, doing the random thing is a bit of a moot point. Because it wn't let me select the role of tank, it won't let me use it telling me that the group isn't viable! Pah.

Looks like I'll be questing.

Oh, Ualaa....I levelled 2 toons on land...I know it's more than do-able....I'm just lazy and have gotten used to it :)

Not viable for what? If you are leveling a group that can do instances why would you not do the random daily instance for the 2 triumph? My group dinged 77 in VH doing the random daily and I can promise you I will be doing the random instance every day until I am able to do heroics.

Yeah, why can't shaman be tanks? Damn classism.

My first team only got cold weather flying quite late in the 70s. My second team went to Northrend already knowing cold weather flying. What a difference. It is a massive time saver.

Agreed, that it is a massive boost.

But, if you don't have the books as an option.
No 80's to mail them to you, etc.

Leveling to 80, on the ground, is still an option.
We have quests, mindless grinding, battlegrounds and instances.
Or any mixture of those.
