ok i got my 80 shaman always used 4 retired the 5th due to net lag (wireless issues

my internet has been improved since then and i want to incriment additional support, i alway run 5 man groups but since im 4x ele. think its good to have a boomkin as 5th and then use dualspec to swap tank for solo? 5% more crit from boomkin would be marginal improvement over a 5th shaman?

i have other available such as 80 mage, 80 priest, fury war/tank,

what you guys think?

The 5% crit from a boomkin doesn't stack with elemental focus so i wouldn't focus on that specifically..
But like you said, you could use a druid to tank when ur going to do heroics and such and go boomkin when ur going to pvp.

I play with a paladin as a tank and i'm loving it, but that's just my opinion :)
But if you eventually wanna do heroics, i would go with a class that's capable of tanking (paladin, druid, warrior, dk)
I know ppl are able to do heroics with 5 shamans but that does need good gear and such..

Hope this helped a bit!

im farming heroics at the moment can do 35+ badges a day but using a friend tanking and i would throw a heal or 2. but i think i should be doing this role aswell.

i didnt know the 5% crit doesnt stack, probably did in the past. ok well its no big deal least it gives me flexability.

i thought of a paladin but he'/she would be melee and i wouldnt always bring to pvp unless use as holy.

well once again baffled by choice, decisions decisions!

btw do you control your pally for tanking or using click to move?( make things clear, you control as main window not as clone) as the way i intend to do it is controlling the tank and setting up different macro setups for heroic solo farm.

The druid can also heal in bgs... and if you get a 2nd healer set for the shammys it could be quite amusing.

The 5% crit is not the consideration.

Earth and Moon gets you 13% spell power boost.
A warlock or death knight (unholy) can get you the same.

The DK or Druid can certainly tank any pve instance.
But the Druid as a boomkin also contributes to ranged (caster) damage, while the DK would need you to pull things.

At the moment I'm just controlling my paladin because imo tanking asks for more concentration. I might change this (i doubt it) when I can use the 969 macro, atm i'm still missing a spell so that sux :p

yeah i know but its would of been a plus, the advantage of the druid over others is the abilitity to heal, ranged dps and tank which no other class can offer.

i was thinking of a hybrid spec half resto half moonkin for heal dps. to void the moonkin shapeshift

The old Dreamstate spec is pretty decent.
Balance down to Moonkin.
Resto down to Swiftmend.

You have fairly good healing power.
It was considered to be a healer spec.

You don't have to go moonkin, but that's an option.
The team will have the crit, with or without boomkin.

You'll have decent pew-pew ability too.

Just lacking on the AoE heals, no Wild Growth.

i've never configured a healer in a group before i wouldnt know what setup to do, im guessing lots of modifiers
