Hi all,
so last night I dinged with my 4 new 80s (2 warlocks, 1 hunter and a DK) and now I am faced with a dilemna. I have already 3 other 80s on this server, Druid (Resto/Feral), Mage (Arcane/Frost) and Pally (Prot/Holy). My question is this, the older 80s have quite a few epics, Druid being best geared, Mage next and Pally least protection geared but Nax Holy geared. My question is, should I run these 80s with 2 of the new 80s and gear them in heroics or would getting the new 80s all into blues and running them also work? My main issue I think will be my tank, Pally is at about 510 def and my new Deathknight is similar defense (general feeling here seems to be to run the pally tank rather than DK due to pallys have an easier time holding aggro?).
Would running the new toons and my pally as a healer through regular dungeons be a better option to gear my pally tank a little better? He really just needs some better rings and trinkers, he has the crafted protection epics and Tempered protection blues. Also the Frost Savage gear for the Locks? With crafted rings and necklaces?
Also should I spec the locks destro or affliction now at 80? And Hunter to MM at 80? Been a while since I ran any of these classes in dungeons.
All help much appreciated :) YAY to being 80 WOOT!!!!!!!!!!

Run whichever group you want?

Well it is really about which can be successful :) , I have run heroics in PuGs with my older 3 80 toons but I think my main concern is the tank and not being geared enough. Armory is down at the moment but his name is Divinemace on Uther.
Also what would anyone recommend as minimum spellpower for heroics if all toons were mostly blue for dps?

Any combination with the necessary roles filled in some fashion can be successful, including some unorthodox means of doing so (e.g. 4 x Elemental Shaman "distributed" healing).

I'd personally mix some of the more geared with some of the less geared.
It should make the gearing up process faster.

Try to have as many loot types as possible, useful to the new toons.

Any thoughts on my tank and where would be the better place to gear my tank a little more? Here is the armory link http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Uther&n=Divinemace

Top of my head without confirming stats

Axe from Crusader seals
second tank ring from anywhere
gem your pants
apply belt buckle & gem
gem your neck
gem your hat
get a better libram (isn't the one from venture tokens much better for tanking?)

You'll want 535 defense for heroics.
Or 540 defense, if you'll tank raids.

The gear is pretty close to starting heroics.

If you run dailies, you can purchase some Naxx/Ulduar/ToC raid level gear, which will make heroics much easier.
Don't go overboard, as heroics now drop badges which buy gear equivalent to ToC.
If you do choose to upgrade toons, via AH purchases, I'd probably leave it at the tank only.

If you want to upgrade dps casters, you can get really, really good stuff from honor / arena points / wintergrasp marks.

So a quick question on my tank, I have not gemmed yet due to wondering should I gem for stamina or defense? What would be the best to gem with?
Thanks for all the cool advice so far :) , itching for servers to become palyable at present lol

If def < 535 {
def ++
else {
sta ++
}

Okay, at some point you want to switch to avoidance. Around the time you have 40k HP or so.
