I noticed that my wow drive only has 3 gigs left on it. I have 5 copies of WoW on it. So outside of symlynking, I don't even know how to do it, what can I delete from my folders to help clear up some space?

I see all kinds of things like old patches, logs, etc etc

Any idea what is safe to delete and what is not?

Screenshots
Updates / Patches
Cache

And sort through your addons

If you delete too much, you can always reinstall. :)

Yeah I zapped out a bunch of addons and screen shots. I will attack my patches/cache after I am done installing.

Thanks

With hard drives going for $100 for 1.5T bytes ....

Even a 74G raptor is way more then enough for wow by itself.

My main folder takes up 17.5 gigs, 3 slaves' take up no more than 70mbs each. Data and Interface folders are the only things I Symlink from main and only take screenshots on main to cut down on space also. After each patch, I copy all files/folders except Data, Interface, WTF, Updates, Background Downloaders, and patch files and copy them over into the slave folders. If you have an addon such as Autoscreenshoter like I do, it will take shots all the freakin time. Achievements, gaining levels, and faction rep changes (You are Neutral/Friendly/Honored, etc..) will trigger this on every toon that has this addon on for, so be wary. My SS folder's pushin 200mbs so far in JPEG files, and I haven't had that addon long. Also, if you're running the PTR, only install it into your main's folder and Symlink the Data/Interface folders to your slaves like the main accounts as well. This will cut down on space also.

Setup ISBoxer and only use 1 copy of WoW... no symlinking or technical voodoo needed.

Oof, how big is the drive? I use a rule, I never use more than 90% of a drive, because I've been told by people who know hardware that they need room to manage files and such, and the best way to kill a drive is to fill it up.

I'm with Sam on this one.

A SSD doesn't really slow down, until you reach 90% capacity.
The traditional hard drives, noticeably slow down when you reach 50% capacity.

A few GB of space left, means you much be well beyond 50%.
