What do people use to watch quests on their alts? I have been using BackSeatQuester. I LOVE it. It shows number of items to go. It shows everyone in the group. It shows name of quest. It just works.

I would like it to be small, and simple. I don't want an addon that does 100 things, cause that will just need to be updated and maintained. This hasn't been updated in a LONG while and it still works.

Questhelper handles this for me.
Although I may be dumping it with 3.3 here.

I read this as "watching guests on alts."Hah.

I think I'll be picking this up since I've stopped using the other addons I used for this functionality.

EveryQuest does the same thing, it will track quests by zone - and now with 3.3 it will poll the server and tell what quests you havent done.
I expect most quest-related addons will be adding that eventually, but right now EveryQuest is the only one that does.

The selling point for QuestHelper is the mouseover tooltips, for me anyway. I tried Carbonite but I couldn't figure out what the status of alts are and the map was very confusing and I didn't like their minimap replacement.
With QuestHelper I just mouse over a mob and it shows me how many drops each one in the group still needs, can't get easier than that.

I prefer Carbonite hopefully they will add quest history polling soon. It also shows party status but not in the tooltip like QH which I wish it had but no biggie.

I stopped using Carbonite due the the CPU load it was incurring, the only feature I miss is the "punks" frame. I really wish there was an AddOn that alerted me to Opposing faction members (as I play on a PvP server, and nothing sucks more than getting ganked without any warning.)
Of course, payback is a b*tch. I've taken down 80s with a team of L65 locks, still, knowing is half the battle.
That aside, I use QuestHelper. I have no other AddOns loaded. It's simple, it's lightweight, and as someone else mentioned the mouseover tooltips showing quest reqs is just awesome (doesn't need to be visible in the quest tracker to see remaining, is why, letting you easily take care of a quest if you notice it without it having to be prioritized in the questtracker or map routes.)
I tried EveryQuest, I forget why I immediately removed it.
Also, TomTom, or the next-best knock-off, is a must in my book. Nobody wants to stare at a map when they can follow and arrow and witch a distance indicator count down.
The only thing I wish QuestHelper would do, though, is perform quest share and abandonment across all toons (e.g. if a quest is missing on Toon X upon joining the party, attempt to share it. If a quest is abandoned on toon X, attempt to abandon it on all toons. Both optional, of course.
I first met ZorbatHut on IRC maybe 13 years ago (EFnet), so I put a lot of stock in his abilities as a programmer to do the right thing. He's an excellent developer, and I was excited when I saw his name on the Author line of QuestHelper because, to me, that meant a high level of quality with a minimalist mentality. So far, I haven't been disappointed. I don't think it could get any better unless Zorba and Tekkub teamed up.

I use Jamba for this.
