Best of Wow, tourism, funnest items and quests "must do" ?

Do you guys know of a list of the funnest or most interesting items and quests in WOW ?

For instance:

Items:
The barov trinket you get at the end of scholo chain

Quests:
The battle for undercity chain


What do you think everyone should do/get at least once ? (I searched but didn't find such list)

At least some of those are still possible.

I'll add some of my own, though some may have been changed:

Wiping to a whole tunnel in gnomeregan aggroing you from across the gap
Spamming seed of corruption into a group of the opposite faction in AV, even with just one warlock
Knocking someone off the bridge or snowfall in AV, preferably with the special snowballs you get during winter veil
Killing something that is way too high level for yourself by yourself (solo frost mage kiting elite 5+ lvls higher, or my latest example: killing the winterfall runners in winterspring with a team that was 10+ lvls lower than them)
5-manning (boxed or not) a 10 man raid boss at the appropriate level
Killing someone in the air by dismounting and blasting them while falling without dying from the landing (water is a good surface to do this over)
Killing a boss that is immune to your main source of damage (princess in maraudon with 5 lvl 49 shamans for example)
Clearing an appropriate level heroic without a tank or dedicated healer
Sneaking through a high level area on a low level character
Get killed by a fel-reaver because you totally didnt see it coming
Get killed by the rats in the deeprun tram (can be pretty hard to accomplish)
Kill the last boss in the BC raids (they are so epic)
Find the secret hut on the coast west of dun morogh

It's also exhilarating when you walk into one and manage to turn it around from an 18-hour stalemate into a victory for your side. 30-minute matches which will limit with a resource victory if you're not fast enough just have a throwaway feel...there's no sense of accomplishment.

Find the secret hut on the coast west of dun morogh

You talking about the old run down fishing house on the coast where you gotta run from either Wetlands south or Westfall north past SW? Or now from SW Harbor north? Found this long time ago.


I'll add a few:

Climb Iron Forge mountain and find the lost mountain climber and his flag he set.

Climb the mountain and get to the Airstrip north east of IF. (I really hope they make this area interact-able in Cataclysm)

Get into Old Iron Forge (should totally be opened up in Cat also as a new dungeon like Stocks for SW. Dark Iron Dwarfs could use this as an underground invasion of IF from lost tunnels leading from BlackRock. Entrance could be a crack in the wall or floor in the King's throne room since this is still the only place to gain entry to the old place anyway. Would encourage more capital city raids)

Obtain 1 Wirt's Third Leg on each toon in your group and hold in your bank

Obtain 1 Chicken Egg on each toon also

Stand a team on the bank steps in IF facing the AH in a line side by side, turn off /follow, get all of them completely smashed (shiftaced as you will) and hit Auto-Run. Have a race to see which one makes it into the AH first. You can add fun to it and place bets with people that are willing too :D

Can't really think of anything else right now. Might add more later.

oh and I'll add another one I remembered (not sure if it's still doable) : climbing up to the Ironforge airport (which ians83 already mentioned)

and what is pointless nowadays: get rare hunter pets (petopia being a great source for those)

I'm a big fan of the old Conan movies, and in the Badlands zone there is a small cave you can fall in, like the one Conan falls in after he escapes that has the skeleton of the old king. I remember finding it and taking a screen shot by the kings skeleton way back when :D The cave is in a mountain around the center of the zone if memory serves...

I'm sure it's still there.

Also everyone should get under Org. I remember way back in the day you could do some fancy jumping by the door and get up on top of the mountain and see Org, only it wouldn't zone in and you could jump down and run around a big open space. I recently discovered you can still get there by jumping to the wall in the valley of honor from where the hunter trainer is. I've seen allies come into the city as well do this. Even though it's in Org every faction should try just to say they did it!

I was once in the same AV for 12 hours straight on the ptr of AV (before Av was released to live servers)

The UBRS thing counts if you were 58 instead of 68, but not really as a raid since it has been tuned for 5 players.

The IF drunken race sounds fun, I need to find one that works for horde.

Not been here, but I have been under SW way back in the day. Think this is bannable also now too, not sure. Anyone know if the Old IF trick is too? If so, then scratch that off the list so no one will risk it.

Find the two gnomes and theire hut in Stranglethorn vale, selling the plans for a scope for hunters.

Oh oh two more.

Find the Assasins "fortress" in Hillsbrad Foothills, and visit the gnome in the celler for some special receipt.

Or find the gnomes and theire hut in The Hinterlands, and you will find a special blacksmithing receipt.

well shit. that sucks they never went through and really did anything with those portals, aside from the level 80 quest there. hopefully they will after Cataclysm. Maybe they can make that the next expansion or something.

Im guessing the Emerald Dream will be a part of cataclysm. Thats where the green dragon aspect runs around and if the main bad guy is going to be the Earth Warder Deathwing, im sure the remaining alive dragon aspects will get involved. It wont be at launch, but prolly like 4.2 or something.

Oh hell no. This quest chain must have THE most boring end to it (talking about the actual battle of the undercity, the rest and after was neat) - done it three times but it wasn't even enjoyable the first time.

Getting on top of undercity.. Then falling because of the elevator coming up..

Quest wise..

1 in feralas to get the faerie pet.
2. Ashenvale quest to get the rod to change into a bear
3. Duskwallow marsh to put the wreath on the grave.

Cant think of anymore off the top of my head..
