Is it just me or is this shit expensive. Since my computers dont have office i was thinking of getting it but not paying 300 plus dollars for it. I used to have a copy of office 2003 but cant find it now. So i dont know if theres a place where you can get it for cheaper then that. Or does win 7 already come with it just curious.

I got 3 copies for $149. It's just Word, Excel and Powerpoint though.

Home and student edition is the way to go if you dont need it for a corporate job.

Unless you need it for work, I wouldn't bother. Also Office 2010 is in beta right now, you might be able to ride the beta for a bit. Open Office works fine if you need the tools. Google Docs is out there for basic stuff too. Lots of options to Office, and yes it is not cheap even for one copy. Office online is coming or here (have not looked into it), but it will more than likely cost money too.

Why do you need Office?

Oh and Win7 does not include Office (why would they give away that $)

I've been using Openoffice ever since (and before other opensource packs) and never ever had a single compatibility issue with ms office documents, both receiving & saving. As a matter of fact, more and more commercial clubs are moving over to openoffice.

Unless you are a heavy excel user (rocket scientist, account, etc) that relies on complicated macro's, etc, , I don't see any reason to buy ms office.

Was just having this fun thought to multibox Office :D

Yes. You just have to save it in one of the Word formats if you want MS Office to be able to read it. I prefer MS Office's GUI over OpenOffice but the functionality is good enough that I used it to work from home for about 2 years. Never had any issues except for strange formatting problems with the OOo version of Powerpoint (Presenter?).
