Thanks to all the people on this form that post information and strats and just thoughts on how to run a group.

My group has a prot paly as tank 3 ele shamans as dps and a holy priest thats a complete wuss I am pretty sure that if a mob looks at him funny he falls over dead any way hes still part of the group.

have fun and thanks for the information

Grats on 80.

I'm curious too about Disciple/Holy. My Priest is Disciple/Shadow. Discipline is great for single target healing and damage prevention, Holy has AOE.

As far as AoE group heals go, they both have:

Holy Nova
Instant Cast, 25% base mana, 713-827 healing within 10 yards.

Prayer of Healing
3 sec cast, 48% base mana, 2091-2209 to everyone within 30 yards.

Deep Holy also has:
Circle of Healing
Instant cast, 21% base mana, 684-736 to everyone within 15 yards.

While Circle of Healing is nice, Prayer of Healing and Holy Nova are more then enough for AoE type encounters.

Holy has bigger heal... Spiritual Guidance, Spiritual Healing, Empowered Healing, Empowered Renew, Test of Faith and Divine Providence.

Disc greatly reduces damage taken... Improved Power Word: Shield, Soul Warding, Renewed Hope and Divine Aegis.

They're both more then capable of keeping a group alive, in either AoE situations or single target damage to the tank.

Discipline has two abilities which I really like:

Penance
Channeled/Instant (3 ticks: Instant, 1 Sec, 2 Sec), 16% base mana, 1484-1686 per pulse.

This spell is amazing. Even if spell pushback negates the last tick of healing, it is more mana efficient then Greater Heal, and will heal for more then a Flash Heal. The first tick is instant, which can save someone while Flash Heal would otherwise still be casting. 40 yard range, as a heal.

Pain Suppression
Instant, 8 second duration, 8% base mana, 40% damage reduction and 65% dispel resistance (95% with Silent Resolve). Usable every 2 mins 26 sec.

Basically immune to dispel effects for the duration.

A Disc priest has massive haste (Enlightenment 6%, Power Infusion 20% and Borrowed Time 40%), which is generally more useful to land the heals immediately when required then larger heals overall.

And a Disc priest is extremely mana efficient, much more so then any other healer. Meditation (50% mana regen while casting), Mental Agility (10% reduced mana for instant casts), Mental Strength (15% increased intellect), Enlightenment (6% spirit), Rapture (2.5% mana restore).

It is a slightly different style of play, but Discipline rocks for PvE boxing, and you can PvP with the same spec to great effect.

What is a good glyph combo and talent tree for a disc priest and or a holy priest please. I am thinking single point of heal since I macro him and use the number keys 1-9 for heals. Although I use the key numpad 5 for group heal works well and on my shamans i bound the 5 key to chain heal.

Thanks much

For Disc, I'd glyph: Penance, PW: Shield and Flash Heal. If your focus is PvP, drop Flash Heal for Pain Suppression.

For Holy, I'd glyph: Flash Heal, Circle of Healing and Renew. If your focus is PvP, I'd respec to Discipline.
