Tap Leveling the fastest way to level?

As I have mentioned before Im currently leveling my Paladin (74) So here is what im wondering... Yet again. Im thinking if I put him with the shamans (4) of them who are all level 80. OOG obviously my xp would shoot up correct? So i was thinking of the best place to do this and I though of the place in dragonblight in the north with all the huge worm things (cant think of the name sorry) that would be great because they are all Elite mobs. Can anyone think of a faster way to level or is this pretty much the best? Also can anyone think of a place with higher level elites for this to work?

I think this method has been nerfed to being unusable.

Instancing in this fashion is bannable.. They did nerf it to where the experience is calculated based on anyone that damages the mob. You could try with totems damage only cuz they may be looked at like pets instead of people.

Just quest its stil faster or run instances.

Inside an instance they have suspended players for doing it.

Outside of an instance it's fine.

There has been no nerf - it's always been as I'll describe below:

There are 2 rolls involved, Tapper and Killer. As long as the MOB is GREEN or higher to the KILLER the Tapper will get 100% xp for killing the mob. If the mob is not green, then the XP is split based on damage to prevent a level 1 from tapping a level 80 mob and the 80 killing it for them.

At 74 if you can find a ready supply of 80 mobs that give XP you should be able to tap n kill them easily for great XP. Finding the supply outside of an instance is the hard part.

in instances it is 3days bannable i think thats what that youtube dude got, Doing it out of instance is not bannable i think, 2 of my frinds did some amazing speedleveling in icecrown, were the lowbie was a prot paladin 77, aoe pulled alot of mobs, the other dude was i a druid out of the grupe he healed him and aoeed the mobs when the pala had tagged them, thay did 77-80 in about 4hrs

I'd just solo quest, and use the shamans for firing support, out of party. just do all the quests you can find, especially group quests. If you already have an 80 on that acct, get the cold weather tome to make it faster. Also, do the instance quests at the paladins level, the shamans will nuke everything, you get decent exp, and good loot and quest rewards.

It's a shame you cant do AV like you used to, mixing 80s with 71+, that was what I was gonna do...

Do the above but at level 74 you can also do the out of party technique and just mass grind mobs. I did it with my DK when I leveled him from 55-80 in 3 days (Real Days). There are 5 camps of human melee mobs in Dragonlight which you can just tap and then destroy with your shamans. With your pally just run him in tank spec and just gather as many as you can and just consecrate. After a second or two once you tap them just destroy them with your shamans. Use CL and TS mostly, as you will get reduced XP if you use straight totems.

Do this till 77 and then get flying and head to Icecrown. In Icecrown there is a part that is like NW section that is all open ground with groups of again 7-10 melee mobs (Those chained hero guys) that you can do the same thing to 80 with. Only odd ball monsters here are the casters which easy die anyways and grounding negate any damage they do.

One of the best places I've found to do this is in dragonblight, the scarlet encampment just NW of naxx. LOTS of human mobs in decent sized groups on a quick reset timer. They really aren't there for much either so they aren't being killed very often. I did a few million xp/hr there while burning all my unused rested xp on my rogue while power questing him.

Ya im totally going to give this a try tonight. That 77-80 in 4 hours sounds INSANE... Heck if I could do 77-80 in 8 hours That would be great..

What human mobs in dragon blight are you speaking of? Also with Ice crown wont I need to unlock a bit first as most of it is phase tech or do those places your speaking of not affected by it?

The ones in Dragonblight are right below Naxx, a little NW of it. Can't miss it the area is very big.

As for the Icecrown part I don't think you need to do any quests there, but if you must I think the min is the Argent Crusade stuff until you get Crusader's Pinaccle up, but I don't remember doing it before. Its been awhile now

Called Tag Boosting.

Make sure the mobs are not grey to anyone.

Reason its illegal in instances is that you have to go in and out of the group (in an instance) for it to work and when you go out of group you are supposed to be kicked from the instance but then you go back into the group so you dont get kicked then out of the group to tag etc. Clearly not what was intended in instances.

The best spot for this old world is seige enginerrs in plagelands, the best in BC is the training area at the top of the black temple in SV.

Just a Quick update after playing quite a bit last weekend My pally is level 80. Saturday and Sunday I pretty much power gamed as mentioned above @ 77 I had to unlock icecrown (The phaseing was driving me nuts!) went to the chained heros section NW of IC and I leveled from 77-80 averaging 1.5-2.3 Hrs per level. Obviously that was alot faster than turning in quests but its ALOT more boring. (Sling box was a life saver here as that kept me entertained)

I use tag boosting often, mostly to catch teams up with one another. Example: have a bunch o fresh raf 61's 63's etc, this helps get them all in the general lv range. Makes questing/instances easier to manage. I'll have to get an exp addon and calculate its potential for mutliboxing an entire team 70+.;)

Did you start doing these mobs at level 55? Or did you do other mobs?


And can someone explain this a bit more? Some people mension using shaman(s) and it gets kinda confusing :P

If you are looking for a place with a ton of mobs I found a great spot in Sholazar Basin. There are skeletons that spawn right around this NPC http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=27801. They drop full loot and there is some sort of code that makes it so one has to be up all the time. I was able to farm here endlessly for cloth with my team. The only problem is finding time to loot all the mobs.

There's also a good spot in Zul'Drak at the top of Voltarus I think. There are only three mobs but once you kill them about half a second later another three spawn right on top of you so you can stand in one spot and aoe until you oom them move to the left and drink.
