So I have several teams I will be boosting to 60 using RAF. Once they are all at 60 I will have minimum of 4 teams of 5 60s, needless to say a huge undertaking to push 60-80. I read somewhere that using 3 shammies with magna totems makes easy work of large aoe pulls for boosting, so my question is should I push through with my 5 shammy team to 80 and then use them to drag up the others or rotate rested and quest everyone up at the same time?

I would probably focus on one team.
My recommendation would be Paladin + 4x Shaman.
But anything you like will work.
But if two teams or three is more fun, go that route.
As far as the boosting, 80 is ideal, but upper 70's should work.
There is a low 70's elite in Borean Tundra.
Ideally, you'd want 2-3 Shammies able to take it out without issue.
You will need at least 2 toons in the boosted group.
One or both will tag the mobs, Arcane Explosion is ideal.
The tagger should have a lot of level 60 Stamina gear, from the AH.
Aggro a bunch of mobs with Shammies on auto follow.
Shammies (I used 3 to boost 2 toons), will drop Stoneclaw Totems on round-robin.
Drop #2, as #1 is destroyed.
Shammies will also Magma Totem x3.
As long as the mobs are tagged, and besides the boosted toons, all the other damage comes from totems.
The lower toons get full experience.
Looting is optional, but will drastically reduce your leveling pace.
The rhino meat sells very well, easily 5g per stack of 5 meat on my server.
As long as you trickle it out, and don't flood the server, it sells well and consistently.
And I got enough to fill most of a guild bank tab, not even looting the whole time.
You'll be on the AoE explosion lowbie most of the time.
An option will be to master loot, opt out of loot, and set a loot threshold to green or better.
So greens (or above) will sparkle for you to master loot, but nothing else.
I did 60th to 70th, in 12 or so hours of play time.
It was insanely boring and monotonous, but a several dvd's on the nearby TV helped enormously.
I had max rested, which was gone in 40 minutes.
At low levels, you have a hard time tagging mobs.
At higher levels, you tag mobs very easily, but get reduced exp's per mob.
I think the fastest pace was 64-68 or so.
Still /played of 12 hours (13 or so, assuming no rested) is pretty decent for 60-70.
This was two toons leveling.
Three would be less runs of this, but slower kills with 2x Magma.
Not sure which is faster actually.

Perfect I think taking 5 shammy or paly/4shammy up to 80 and then playing a little bit to forget pain of levelling followed by pulling the others up will be best. Ultimately I want a mixed team but I want to be able to swap toons around for various combinations so getting them all to 80 the quickest is the solution I need. :) Have even thought about running the shammy/paly long enough to pick up heirloom items for other toons.

Pally with 4x shaman has great synergy.
They will be able to do a lot of heroics earlier then many other teams.
Once the pally is 75, the 96969 macro is easy mode; just keep Divine Plea up.
Shammies trivialize so many encounters with Tremors, Grounding Totems, Wind Sheer, and resist totems.
Svpernova has a post for full Tier 9, in 8-12 days of heroics.
8 days if you can clear the harder stuff too, 12 days for a fresh to 80 group.
That is 210 badges of gear, for 5 pieces Tier 9 (or 5 pieces of the PvP Equivalent).
Some of those badges can go to the account bound, 10% experience shoulders.
I'd go with the cloth variant, as even if the armor sucks, it will be usable by every team.
Don't forget to do Wintergrasp at every opportunity.
There is a 10% experience chest piece there, which stack for a 19% boost (0.90 experience required x 0.90 experience required = 0.8100 experience).
