View Full Version : Triple DK speed 55-80?

I had to hold off on running DK's back when I was still actively playing, because two of my 3 accounts were RAF linked and I didn't want a huge gap in XP between the poor unlinked DK and the other two...even though it'd only be for 55-60, it woulda made a noticeable difference.

Now that my RAF is long since worn off, I'm wondering...how much fun is it to rip mobs apart with 3x DKs?

I like my pally/priest/lock team, and they're only 4.5 levels from 80, but I'm kinda feeling the urge to level a trio of the same class...DKs being the first choice since they start at 55 and with no RAF that's a big plus.

Any ballpark figures on how long to tri-box DKs from 60-70...then 70-80?


What will be fun is when they face an elite and actually have enough time to do a proper DPS rotation...against everything else I'm assuming it'll just die too fast to worry about a rotation.

For boxing, minimal downtime and max carnage while leveling, what should I spec the DK's? Blood 2H? Frost dual-wield? Unholy 2H?

DK melee spell damage is based on weapon damage, so undoubtedly, stick to 2H weapons for the most damage. I've seen a team of Blood DKs rip through many instances without much of a problem, but for pve outside instances, I'm gonna run all Plague. When I soloed my first DK thru Hellfire Peninsula, I grinded on the flocks of birds there for a while between quests. Since you're only running 3 accounts, then I'd go with whatever can dish out the most damage, Blood is still single target oriented, Frost is tanking, and Plague is Mob DPS. Go with whatever you have the most fun with really, but Plague also grants you the Ghoul pets which are pretty cool and fun to have for extra dps. You still don't get to raise the army till 80 however which I can't wait for. :D Another thing, Corpse Explosion is pretty cool to use, but I never wasted the point on that talent. Instead I used it for something else to up my damage, cause the cooldown was too long at the time, and since my mobs died so fast, I hardly got to use it. Might try it out again tho on my next team.

60 to 70 is pretty fast.
They changed the experience needed per level to 70% of what it was.

You can ding 70th, in Outland in Nagrand (Hellfire, Zangarmarsh, Terrokar, Nagrand).
Not even getting into Blade's Edge Mountains, Netherstorm or Shadow Moon Valley.

I would imagine a weekend, if you just did wow the whole time.

70 to 80 will take a bit longer. There is no reduced experience.
With a 3x group, current level instances won't be an option, unless you find a tank and healer.

But you could do a lot of pvp, and every quest should be doable.
It's just collections are more then a little painful.
Still, collecting x3 now, is no worse then x1 at a time, on 3 runs to do stuff.
And you get the kills x1 now, instead of needing to do them on each toon in turn.
So even with collections, it should be a lot faster then 1-boxing three toons in turn.

I want to add that collection quests in Borean Tundra are not too bad at all. I've done every quest line there, and where I've skipped almost every collection quest in the 1-70 grind, I haven't skipped a single one from 70-73. There are more mobs & more 'parts' to collect than ever before. Can't recall i had to wait one time for a respawn. Moved to the next zone and it feels the same.

i just soloed a DK from 60-70 this past weekend, i had SMV, and Netherstorm left, didn't touch them at all, i pvped alot too, didn't take long at all.
