There are alot of sad people in this world.

You gotta love people that are bitter about how we choose to play. And as far as the one comment saying legit is playing the game as it was designed to be played... idiot. The game was designed with grouping in mind, it just bothers people that we in fact don't have to deal with the LFG BS anymore.

Here's the question I'd pose to some of those people.

Q: Given the following two players, who has spent the most calendar time playing WoW? Player A has one account with a combined total across all characters of 280 days /played. Player B has 5 accounts with a combined total /played time across all characters of 900 days.

I love how the two people that offered helpful replies completely missed the point. That's awesome.

On a side note, "livefastdiarrhea" sounds like a player I used to raid with. If he is who I think he is, his opinion is not worth the electricity he used to respond.

With a name like livefastdiahrrea he doesn't exactly exude an e-aura of "my opinion is worth diddly" to begin with lol

I feel your pain of this but what I hjave come to as a solution is I leave master loot on my main. when some good (read boss loot)drops I hit 'c' to open every char window and look at said gear slot to see who needs it the most. then give it to them and equip it, works well and really doesnt take much time at all. the two helpful people in the thread were indeed helpful and didnt miss the point, they were showing why there is no such need for this addon outside of the multiboxing community, or for that matter in it. Outside of multiboxing it would be open to abuse and not needed given current methods of handling loot. And inside multiboxing its not needed because we can see all our gear at once if need be. After all you have to manualy equip a new piece of gear once an alt gets it anyways.

You really feel there is no need for it in our community? I'm shocked. Most people I spoke with said they never distributed sub-green loot because of the hassle. If one pulls aggro, pretty much they're dead if you don't have a tank with aggro-pulling talents such as taunt, consecrate, etc.

I don't have 5 monitors, nor do I have a monitor I can see when I use maximizer, so I have 2 computers, 1 client on one and 4 on the other, overlapped so I can actually read stuff. It would mean I would have to go into each screen, check the gear, try to REMEMBER all 5 options (okay, clone1 had the 32 armor leather belt, clone 2 had the 16 armor leather belt, clone3 had...wait...clone 3 had the 32 armor leather belt, and.....

See what I mean? I just want an easy way to keep tabs on what each of my clones is wearing. You're telling me now that that isn't helpful to multiboxers? Pre-70 and leveling up I'd think it'd be indispensible.

Have you tried the SpyGlass addon they mentioned? The good posters on wowace tend to be quite good at what they do and I'd certainly have a look at that first.

Erm, that was me mentioning Spyglass. =) So yes, I checked it out. It will work for now, I might tweak it for Multiboxing purposes.

Well let me elaborate a bit on what I mean by "no need" and such. First off, even though the attitude was ass-hole like on those posts some people had a point. And that point was that if there was such a demand then a multiboxer should write the addon. There is no real need for this outside multiboxing and inside multiboxing the demand is even smaller. I find my method plenty fast for dividing loot and no I do not pass out green items. I don't ignore green items because it would be a pain, I do it because I feel why bother with a green item when I can run an instance for a blue and just DE the green? So right now with a few exceptions due to level (bracers or gloves mainly) almost all of my gear are blue bop drops. It takes me less than 20 seconds to determine who should get a blue and to equip it when it drops because I can see all my characters at once. Albeit at a small resolution but plenty big enough to see what gear they have in a slot and what their stats are like hp/mp spell crit, spell dmg, etc.

So in my eyes the only need for this kind of an addon would be those who have their clients configured in such a way that they cannot see all of them at a quick glance without alt tabbing or moving windows around, and having plowing through this site regularly I do not see very many people at all that fit under this category and so I stated the demand for this would be pretty much zero. Zero as in not enough demand for someone to write an addon for it. This addon falls under the category "if you want something done right, do it yourself" because there really is so little demand for it that the only way it will get written is if one of the people that want it does it. Which likely would have happened by now if the people wanting it were capable of making addons (I know I cant, but then I dont need it). Now if I knew how to write addons would I do it? Again probably not because that is a lot of work for a very, very small group of people and even then only of a small portion of that group actually 'need' it.

Just sayin'....when I have my clients to where I can see 'em all they have to be like....800x600 and I can't for the life of me read any text on it at all....the paperdoll character popup is like...miniscule.

I don't understand. I have a Gateway 24" monitor that when playing one copy of WoW is amazingly good quality and resolution. How are you fitting 4 or even 5 clients on a "big" monitor and not seeing tiny type too?

Yeah. Well. I can't do that. I'm living with my parents while my new condo is being built, and I'm already invading in their space. Which means no "ultimate hardware setup" for me until I move. So I'm pretty stuck with using 2 PCs, 2 monitors (1 24" 1 17") and it sucks trying to read anything smaller than 1024x768.

I have 2 22" monitors. the left one is main wow and it runs at 1024x768. the 4 alt windows are something around 800x500(I dont go full down otherwise they go behind the start menu). This makes them very small that is correct but maybe its just good eyesight or font recogniztion but I can easily tell what a character has with a glance and a mouseover. I dont care what the name of it is or anything like that I just need to see which character doesnt have it. That is how I roll with my multiboxing. I will generally run an instance until ive outlevled (some mobs turn 'green' to me) or I have geared every character with all the loot I need. So for example the feline mantle from SFK. I hit c, mouse over shoulders on each character and go "he has it, he doesnt, he doesnt, he has it" then glance at spell and mp stats for both that dont and go 'hmm which has less?' ok that one. send with ML, equip and move on. That is all that is needed to compare upgrades.

Would I like to run 5x monitors? oh hell ya but im in an apartment and my desk space is limited

Have you tried Window's Magnifier?

I myself have a 24" widescreen but am only running 4 clients ATM. I use the Window's Magnifier tool located under Start>>Programs>>Accessories>>Accessability to view any details on my clones.

Dunno if this is good enough to work as you want, but it works fine for the limited amount of looking at my clones that I do.

I don't know if I would use such a tool but I can't agree with previous posters saying "there is zero need for such a tool"... He is saying he needs it... so that is at least 1 person who needs it and last time I checked 1>0

This will let you scale the tooltip to a much larger size. Works great for the alt/clone windows that are small.
