Even as i type this i still have love for the game we call wow, but i kinda got hooked into my first game i ever got really hooked to. This game took me behind a controller and a tv for more hours then wow could ever do. Yes it started with socom 2. I was so hooked i ended up having 15 ps2s lol to rank up. Now im back but in socom confrontation.

Had someone at work say you still pay for wow. I was like yea for now imma deactivate them all here soon. Thats only so i can let them all run out of time and reactivate them so they all come out same day. But i might end up taking another month off or so. I really got back into this game and sheesh movies too.

Anyone else found just trying out an old favorite brought back memories and the love for it. Also the hope to find lost friends you might have spent hours playing against or side by side in game. Even like wow all those hours of even getting to know someone over a game is a bond.

Lots of people tell me how can you be friends with someone you never meet. Easy they have a love for something i have a love for therefore they understand the pain and joy outta losing or winning something. Plus i say its a bond between gamers. True gamers develop special bonds more so then casual gamers.

Since most true gamers spend hours and hours a day behind a game fine tuning this skill or that skill, even setting things up or trying to figure out how to go at something in a different approach. I know i have even had dreams of some games, and if you say you havent then theres something you are lieing about to me and foremost yourself.

So lets here peoples stories about past games that have brought you away from wow or things that have happened in games that have made an everlasting gamers bond. I mean like even to the point you'll email them back n forth or call them up and say hey man you got this game or this one. So lets go spill it boys and girls or should the girls be limited to 1 hmmm not sure if we got more then one here.

But these days you kids are such pussies and can't handle getting looted by someone who got the best of you, so that game died in favor of wow graveyard runs. i dabble in private servers a little every year but the game is disappearing.

"(wheeeeze) ... you kids these days ... when *I* was a young feller, back in ohhh, it would've been '95 or '96 ... or '97 ... we didn't *HAVE* all these choices ... we had to play Ultima Online, where if someone killed us, we lost all our stuff! And we *LIKED* it!!"

Good riddance, UO.

Well, nothing has really taken me away from this game... I'm just not a huge gamer - in fact I can't stand most video games, they bore me to death. I have an Xbox360 and a Wii mostly for entertaining guests if they want to play. I've only played a few games over the past 15 years, I get stuck on one and get pretty competitive...

For me it was like:
- killer instinct
- red alert
- warcraft 2
- halo 2
- wow

Other than the final fantasy series for a month at a time over the years... that's been my gaming career.

so what game is taking you away from wow? Just socom? I tended to only be able to play shooters for a few hours at a time, or with the right team online, otherwise it just got old. seems like in wow you could put in an 18 hour day if you wanted

You should turn your head toward Darkfall, it's like a UO / Oblivion hybrid. You may not enjoy it because of the first person style, but the rule set of UO is very similar. Looting, killing your own race turns you red and you can't go back into town and buy stuff. Only allowed ONE guy per account, so it makes it more interesting! I realize the game play isn't like UO, but the rules are and that's what makes it fun for me. No levels either, just use a skill and it goes up, get it high enough and you get new skills to start working on. If anyone else plays Darkfall and wants to get together for some mayhem let me know. My guy is still a low skilled turd though lol.
Look up my character, Vas Flam. (Corp Por was already taken)
