A story of my frustrations last night.

I'm currently lvl 68 on my toons. I did some quests in Netherstorm, but the followups etc. is all collection quests. So I headed into Shadowmoon Vally.

And OMG - Whats up with the annoying group quests and the stuff where I have to wear those dahm goggles to see the ghosts.

I was doing the divination quests: http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10634. On the first attempt I got my ass wooped. And I though wtf?

I had to log due to RL stuff. In the evening I headed to the top of Netherspike Ridge or whatever its called, aggroed the dragon mob and killed him easially. I notiched during the fight one of my toons just standing there going "dum di dum" and picking its nose.

After I killed the dragon mob, everyone could complete the quest except the toon with full mana. I figured out it was because it diden't have the effect of the goggles. So I un equiped em and and put em on again and completed the quest. But prior to this I went into a total Nerd Rage because of the toon not being able to complete the quest. I was so fed up with the stupid quests in this area that I almost logged.

Maybe it was due to the fact that I wiped a couple of times doing the quests that pops from http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31345.

Prior to this I had been doing quests to kill some mobs in the area and I had killed this elite lvl 70 5 times or something, and only picked up the journal on tree of my toons. After completing the kill quests in the area, I started the Journal quets, and notiched I lacked the journal on a couple of toons.
So I flew in and looked for this mob. Found him, landede on a downsloping road, and got attacked by 6 mobs. I was batteling these, when a Son of blabla Giant mofo turned up and joined the fun. Cool this is fun.
Then Val'zareq joins aswell including his 4 or 5 followers... this proved a bit to much for me and my tank died some seconds later due to my healer being a shitty healer (I had him in the dps mode where he also casts wrath etc. slowing down his heals). This got me a bit upset and embarrassed. So I rezzed, found the elite mob val'zereq again and beat him into the ground.

Started the quest which I think is the: Battle of the Crimson Watch (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10781).

First I finished the first stage. The two Demons (looking like the old mobs from the original DOOM) spawned and disappeared before I got to attack them = fail. I didn't even know what I had to do because my toons just accepted the quest lol and here we go.

Okey, second try: Smacked the first wave. Smacked the second wave and got annihilated on the third due to OOM and AoE damage.

And that was when I went and did the quest I described in the beginning.... which resulted in Nerd Rage. LoL

These quests in shadowmoon valley really got under my skin. Normally I would head to Northrend, but I lack the expansion on my toons - so I have to wait until Christmas is over to see if I got the expansions, if not ill just buy them. I will level to 70 and do my professions.

I really wanted to farm some instances to get some stonekeeper shards (to get heirloom gear)or something to make my leveling from 70-80 faster, but I have been told I need to get to northrend before I can farm stuff for these.
Any suggestions what I should use my time until Christmas for? (in wow hehe)

If you are going for the maximum gold possible, or just want a change of pace, you can continue with Outland until 70th, or even 71st. That will get you the maximum number of quests remaining in Northrend at 80th.

However, at 68th you can go to Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord. I would do one and then the other. The quests are balanced against a single toon in crap level 60-68 green gear. With a boxed team, both zones are easy, aside from the giants (which shake the screen and are impossible to miss). Northrend will get you leveling up a lot faster then Outland at 68th or higher, and the gear is much better too.

He doesn't have Northrend.

As for fooling around in Outland then, I would suggest just getting your guys to 70, and getting their tradeskills to 350 (not 375, as the new recipes in Northrend make 350-375 easy, whereas you need hard to find/annoying recipes still in Outland).

For getting to 70, have you done all the quests in Nagrand? I think I dinged 70 on my guys in Nagrand - never even made it to the real 68-70 zones. If that isn't an option, you can always do some instancing.

Also I just ran my druids through Netherstorm just because I wanted to get the loremaster achievment on my main, and I didn't do collections on the druids, but they still got a TON of quests there. Just ignore all the collection quests, and do the easy kill X, etc ones, and there are still plenty to do. There are more quests in Netherstorm than any other zone in Outlands.

At 70 if you still don't have the expansion, you can always....

Do dailies in Outland - they aren't bad gold, and you could even max all your outland factions and such if you're into that kind of thing, while you wait for xmas and your expansions. Also farm up the 25k gold to get your guys epic flying.

Get keys for old dungeons (khara, ubrs, scholo, whatehaveyou)
Do old factions (get some netherwing mounts for your guys!)
Smash old dungeons (Try your hand at Khara and MC)

If you're looking strictly at money, make your 5 toons into JCers/Alchs - you can't do the good transmutes until you get the expansion, but if you can get your guys to 350 in JC/alch, the last 100 points are easy, and then 5 icy prisms plus 5 xmutes per day can equal anywhere from 500g up to 1k in profit simply for hitting the combine button. Not to mention JC and alch are just good, convenient tradeskills to have (jeweler gems, bottomless potions, etc etc)

If you can do Outland era heroics, some of the Sunwell badge gear has lasted to 76 so far, without an upgrade. So it's not a total waste of time gearing up.

Plus its both a challenge at 70th, and training for later content. A ton of new raid encounters are like <insert fight>, except for <insert difference>.

The sunwell dailies will be quite decent gold, and there won't be a lot of competition for them either.

Nice thanks for all the tips.

I finally had some time to play last night. Started out by changing my resto druid setup into Tree of Life, since I haden't bothered changing macros etc. to utilize this since I have only been doing normal quests and keept myself out of instances. I also looked up some tanking macros and setup my Bear tank correctly. Then headed to the Quest I coulden't do: Battle of the Crimson Watch (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10781).

Wiped the first time due to my tank not holding aggro in the 3rd stage of the fight so my healer got killed. I haven't setup ressurection properly yet....

Second try with my fancy new macros. Smashed through first, second, and third encounter. Time for the last boss. Got my toons to full mana, and tanked and spanked the shit out of this guy. My DPS toons where out of mana at the end of the fight, but the boss was low enough for my tank and my healer to finsish the fight.

Can't tell you how nice it feelt. Almost the same as downing my first instance boss back in the classic wow content.

Im 69 now with my team. I have alot of different professions, skinning, mining, engeneering, enchanting, tailoring, letherworking, alchamy etc. spread across my team.

I have been thinking about dropping inscription, mining/blacksmithing, engeneering, and pickup Alcamy for the transmutes...

Do any of you have mining on your toons? I can't help thinking im loosing profit evertime I stand next to some ore I could mine if I had mining up.

I would also love to get a hold of a netherdrake, they look awesome.

I haven't been in any outland instances prior so maybe I will put my head into one or two of those :)

Im out of quests in shadowmoon valley now, and I have done all the easy kill quests in netherstorm so I only have collection quests left (or collection quests as a part of a quest chain).

I have no idear how faction stuff work to get the netherdrakes but ill read up on that. We are also getting closer to christmas, and I have already gotten one more WTLK expansion pack, so only 3 more to go and ill be in northrend.

I've never attempted to get those epic drakes and just looked at that link, btw ty for posting it, and HOLY #*%( ! That's freakin long. Not sure if I'll ever try it, but it'd definitely be worth it for the Loremaster achievements I guess.

Yes, the guides tend to say you could include some of the rep grinding into a daily run or something. But I guess its a bit outdated those guides.

If someone has any tips for getting the netherdrakes fast, let me know :D

I did it at level 80.. did all the quests/daily ones and got a few eggs (I never went out of my way to farm eggs, just picked up if I noticed them).. if you have mining, lw or skinning it goes faster as you sometimes get eggs from that.. in all on 1 toon it took me 1 week.. it wasn't that bad.. the worst achievement of it to get was "Skyshattered" I raced the end guy 33 times for that!

It sounds like you spend quite a few hours on getting the drakes. But thanks for the tip!
