Barebones -- Howzit?

I'm looking at that as a barebones system to plug together. There are no reviews on the site but it looks pretty good. Just plug a SSD and a video card into it and you should be ok. Anyone have any comments?

As an aside, I checked out some prebuilts by ASUS, Intel, and Dell and they actually looked to be a pretty good value--I7 920's with a GTX 260 and 9 gigs of DDR3 for 1150? I *know* it's blasphemy, but why wouldn't those be a good pick?

did the other have an OS? I would avoid 9 gig systems, you can start with 6 gigs and upgrade to 12. With 9, you have to remove sticks and they would be pretty worthless as they only work in an i7 box. Not a bad system, does not appear to be assembled which might be one consideration

If you're going barebones for the ease of upgrading, which is the best way to go for those new and apprehensive about building their own, then look for one that does not include a power supply. Buy your power supply individually so that you have one that is made from a decent company. If you want recommendations, ask at www.tomshardware.com . A poor PS can ruin a great system. It's like buying a Ferrari with a mini-van engine.
