Quel'delar Epic weapon from ptr

quest-line is easy
battered hilt (epic BOE, lol) dropped for me in forge of souls heroic from random trash.
today, bored as usual on live server, followed the quest-line on ptr.
some steps are quests in dalaran.
1st serious quest send me in pit of saron, so i tryed it normal mode : it works atm.
easy quest: requires collect 5xstrange "saronite"(located around) and a hammer (it drops from boss 1).
then i used the anvil in boss 1 area to forge the item required.
then completed normal pit of saron (boss 2 is a nightmare for me, really annoying for melee), boss 3 is easy in normal, 1 shotted.
pit of saron required for entering in last instance, hall of reflection.
after this step in pit of saron, quest giver becomes a guy outside instances, so its pretty fast.
he sends me in forge of souls, completed fast in normal mode.
then, he sends me in hall of reflection, where i fight versus a sword (a sort of event inside instance, just after entered, no bosses to kill). group is required, sword have 200k and hit hard.
then finally 2 steps in sunwell isle/plateu and you get a incredible/amazing weapon lvl 251 :D

Don't forget that if your class can't use it, you can swap it for a weapon that you can.

in ptr battered hilt (quest item[epic] needed to start quest-line) looks pretty common. really high drop rating.
i m sure it is for testing purpose, quest line have somenthing like 12+ steps.
i suspect on live-server it will be a lot + rare.
and i doubt it will be BOE like now: it would create a new massive ingame gold-inflation, pretty sure it wont be BOE.
quest line is pretty fast: completed in about 2/3 hours, not much if i consider it needs 2.5 instances runs, and various travels in northrend and needed to find some new npc.

bad news, according mmo-champion database: no tank version avaible. there are single hand versions, for casters and melee.
1st boss in Forge of souls normal drops a new tank-mace (got during quest-line): it have a nice look (similar ulduar big mace) but it is just lvl 219.

there is a 2h version with huge agility in place strenght, similar crit and expertise(84 points or so) in place haste and a gem slot+pure ap(160+): somenthing similar to a empowered version of marrowstrike from tocH, but not sure what is better, probably requires testing.

im sure they came out with it as a means to bridge from entry lvl 80 weapons to t9/t10 equivalent weapons. since youll be able to acquire a good portion of t9 gear in no time at all, they dont want people running around with just 200/219 lvl weapons.

i could also be wrong, just kinda how i look at it...

The Quel'Serrar (sp?) was a BoU epic to start the chain, it was the really terrible drop rate for it that made it rare. I'm pretty sure this will be the same way when it goes live. Right now they have vendors selling it to test the chain I would guess.

They need to add nonsuck trinkets to vendors. Im tired of losing /rolls for trinkets in ToC10/25 and my ilvl200 trinkets are starting to get embarassing.

damn. i f i knew that, i will do for 5x at same time, so i could perform some tests.
weapon white dmg looks a bit strange/wrong: getting just +10% vs my marrowstrike.

aye, this is the "gear up for expansion leveling" patch. The last patch of BC was similar. You could buy t6 weapons and armor for badges. This time its way more epics available to heroic farmers though.

Bliz also have said that they want "most" the players to experience IC and the LK, so this will be a way for casuals to gear up for IC as well.

I much rather us get weapons to bridge the gap instead of having to run ulduar or toc during IC just so we can continue to raid.

Nothing sucks more then not being able to complete your content because you cant fill the ranks with even beginner level gear.
