Ok im using fraps and my questions are as follows. It only allows for 30 sec clips the free version. So i hit the start button when 30 secs goes off everytime. Then how do you splice the images together and then show here. Or is there a better program thats free that will capture until you turn it off. Would really love to video tape stuff.

if you want the best software for screen recording , fraps is cheap at $37 imo , fraps is the best both on performance and quality afaik( with a software solution tough ( fraps is still number one no matter what on quality , but somtimes you get problems with file sizes and performance imo ) , there is units out there which can record 1080i from your pc without any fps impact and you get small h264 encoded files , so you can record say 8 hours and loose about a 4 gb of hard disk space . )
lol that was todays commercial ( sorry if my before edited post seemed abit insulting , no hard feelings i hope )

I had major issues with fraps killing my performance. GameCam was cheaper at $29, didn't tank my framerates and records directly to DivX/WMV/etc. so it won't kill your hard drive space. It's hands-down the better option IMO. Both have a free/trial/lite version. Try 'em both and see how they compare.

think i'll give gamecam another try( to be fair last time i tested it , was with my old cpu, used a 2 disks in raid for frapsing and got better performance and quality since fraps major bottleneck is writing to disk afaik, but as you say the fraps files gets enourmous quite fast )
