View Full Version : [WoW] Why are you on your server? Why haven't you transfered to be with more boxers?

I started out at release on Malygos. When BC launched, I took the free transfer to Madoran. Up until 2 weeks ago, I was on Madoran. I transferred to Kil'Jaeden to be around more multiboxers and how everything played out, I moved my main as well.
It's a pretty expensive venture that not everyone has the cash to shell out to transfer even one team. A staggering $125? Ouch. I know, it hurts. Was $125 worth it for me to move to Kil'Jaeden? Hell yes. I left behind some good friends, and it always sucks to leave friends behind, but I'm lucky enough I had a few friends transfer with me.
Outside of raiding, I've never had as much fun in game as I have on KJ. Standing my 3 shaman behind Balinda with David's 5 shaman and 1 shotting anything that pokes it's head around the corner is just epic. Even wiping in AV and laughing about it is fun. Being top honor AV after AV is amazing. Gurb said this weekend, "Wow I've never seen bear pvp this much, ever" (old Madoran people call me bear, it's good times) and he's got a good point. I never enjoyed PvP until I was forced to be aware of it all the time. You just never know when that warrior that thinks his "Rival" title means he can solo your team of 5, but damn it feels good to /point /laugh at his corpse.
So this brings me to my question, Why are you on your server? What's keeping you there? and for the poll, why haven't you transferred to a server with more boxers?

If it diden't cost anything I would definetly jump onto the new multiboxer EU server and even re-join the hord.
Im alliance and play on silvermoon. I colden't care less about the other people on the server as all my past friends have stopped playing.
So for me its firstly the $$$ involved even though I can dig em up if I really wanted, and its also moving to a PvP server with my fairly low level team. I would also have to transfer my toons from Alliance to Horde..... ohh the cost! :)
But I would love to play with other multiboxers.... I can imagine if I where being ganked, and I called for help in the guild channel that 5 or more toons show up :D
We only need 2-3 people online to be able to get 10-15 toons ready for combat if a fellow multiboxer is in trouble....
If I where a person with 1 account I would shit myself if 10-15 guys comes storiming at you for vengance :D

Why are you on your server? just moved to grim batol in hope to bring eu community together.
What's keeping you there? just changed server but i would of said 5 top trade skills maxed and 5 epic flying with 7 80's. friends left, so now i got every reason to look for a new server, = done
doing stuff as a group or a whole is so much more fun and entertaining, we pay alot, i exspect alot.
good to meet and find new boxers :D

When I was on mag, nothing really ever went on. It was like being in a regular guild. Sometimes I could request support if I was being ganked, which was nice, I would see xzin roll in with 4 locks and priest and melt faces.
I would only consider transferring if there were guaranteed events/raids/pvp and whatnot.

I solo raid end-game content with the same guild I've been a member of for over 12 years in various games, so making a permanent move is completely out of the question, although I've dabbled with PvP servers from time-to-time.
But... why on earth would I want to be with other boxers anyway?
There are at least three other relatively serious boxers on the Alliance side of EU-Aggramar but we *very* rarely see each other, and the idea of organising an event between us sort of undermines the whole point of boxing in the first place :)

I'm seriously considering moving my alliance team to KJ, assuming you guys would like more shamans :) I've kind of already leaked it to some people on my server, since I'm fairly well known. However, Christmas is coming up, and I'm moving in with my boyfriend in February/March, so dropping $125 wouldn't be the most prudent move until after the New Year, I fear.
That said, I know a ton of people on my server and I'm the only boxer (of 3) left. I like the people, mostly :)

Xferring all my characters off draenor to another server would set me back about 300 euro's (around 450 US dollars). Not really worth it...

Just paid a whopping $275 to server / faction transfer to KJ, worth it though. Found myself quitting the game due to boredom, not with the game itself, but just being solo all the time.
And im not the rerolling type.

I have to disagree here. I started 'boxing a couple of years ago to get away from the random bullshit PuG assholes, and also from a hardcore raiding guild (6 days a week+).
Boxing let me play on my schedule, not other peoples. I would assume most other boxers did the same thing - mostly to get away from assholes.
So when you get a bunch of people together with very similar interests, good things happen. And you don't get drama, because people willing to dish out $75/m to play WoW? Ya, the pre-Madonnas and loot kiddies are often times excluded by that alone. (and if they do show up in my guild, they get gkicked rather quick)
You mean I need a job to play WoW like you? Fuuuuuuuuuck...........
I could only imagine transferring if I could transfer ALL my (main) characters. That would really be too expensive to consider.

I honestly wouldnt mind moving to a pvp server. I only know 1 rl friend on my current server.....and all he does is raid with a decent guild...so we never play together. All i do is my round of dailies and WG/AV as much as i can. As I've never played on a pvp server, how is the real world pvp?

My cousin reroll horde when TBC was release and chose Ravencrest. I didn't know any better and started there with him. Two reasons that I' still on the server: 1. It would be tough to leave the friends that I've made on the server. 2. I'm not really into raiding at the moment and I have enough characters to fill out a group for heroics. It doesn't matter really which server I'm on.

World PvP is there, even if you don't seek it out. You'll get camped from time to time. You just /g LoB assemble! and as long as people are on / able to login you'll get backup. Fur got camped for 2 hours across continents Saturday, once we got the guild out there, the dude logged. Playing on a PvP server definitely alters how you do things. Even accepting quests can be an adventure. My first day trying to do dailies I got camped pretty badly for about an hour, it sucks when you get your team split up. But destroying people 5v1 that think they can gank you makes the times you DO get ganked tolerable.

Very true. Even doing the heroic daily on my server can be a chore since alliance are outnumbered 3:1. 15 Horde at the summon stone to AN makes doing Heroic AN or OK a challenge, since they don't just let me run on through :)

hehe, a warrior tried to gank me on my way into CoS yesterday, it was cute. AN is an issue, gundrak can be, DTK is probably the biggest for me since I like running that place a lot, I've never wiped though, if it gets too dicey I just thunderstorm and run in.

I really love it when healers stand near the portal entraces and you thunderstorm them into the instance and then kill the rest of their group who are waiting on heals.

But as Supernova said, as soon as everyone showed up, he pussed out and bailed. (thanks again guys!) safety in numbers is a whole new concept when playing with multiple multiboxers. :D

If I were to transfer it would be to play in a decent guild with good people. I could care less if they multibox or not. Not really sure why that's important. Perhaps it's easier to be "allowed" to multibox on raids? I don't think I am nearly talented enough to even attempt that.
Over the past couple of months I have been at a point where I have a hard time logging in to run the same instances over and over. However, I think what I miss most is playing with friends.

for me its simple:
I joined a nice not raid orientated guild, some nice guyes from my molten core raid where in and I simply found the perfect home:
- a nice casual family like guild
- nice people, which i have met on several guild meetings in real life
- most of them are 20+, in some kind of job or studing
- not raid oriented
- very open minded about me multiboxing (I never recieved a bad comment from them about it, only a 'cool' and 'how to do it')
..so for me leaving the server or the guild, would be like loosing my 'WoW-home', so a strict no-go.

Basically exactly the same situation. Pretty well-established in a family-friendly guild. We have families that have 3 generations playing. Literally from 7 to 70 in our guild. We don't have to deal with the immature kiddos, or anything like that, since we're pretty self-regulated.
We are able to do recreational raiding at the 10 man level, and that's about it. Do silly guild events together and whatnot. I wouldn't mind transferring a team to a pvp server someday, but it's not immediately on my list of things to do.

I've been playing MMO's since Ultima Online and have run a guild named "Band of the Black Hand" since Beta 4 of EQ (1996). When WoW released BotBH needed to choose a server, Blackhand seemed obvious.
I won't transfer servers, don't believe in it. I've got a solid reputation on Blackhand, even after changing mains several times I'm constantly recognized for who I am, I'm a leader of a prominent raiding guild with a social mindset, and honestly it wouldn't be the same without all my members, so transferring for us would be massive.

Where's the option for "already transferred to KJ"
I transferred a long time ago (over a year?) Initially, I was a reroll, with RAF, and eventually transferred over a bunch of toons, and I haven't looked back. It's so much nicer being with other people of the same mindset. It doesn't necessarily have to be to be with other boxers, but to be with adults, who have real lives, who cant devote every night to guild raid runs, but still want to raid. Its nice to be able to join a raid, and box toons without people having drama about things like "he wont be effective with 2+ toons" or "he will fail the safety dance" or "he gets to roll TWICE for loot? NERDRAGE"
There are a lot of immature small minded jerks playing wow, and for a lot of us, those people are the reason why we box. If I had a "family guild" already and had a good time doing that, I wouldn't have found a need to seek out more boxers, but I'm glad I did, its made wow even more fun than ever.

Heya, I just transferred today. I've been wanting to transfer for a while but thought the $125 was a bit much to swallow. I decided to go for it because it is getting a bit boring soloing all the time. I think it would be a blast to group up with some boxers sometimes. I transferred one of my teams and may transfer others if its as fun as i expect. :D

Hmmmm, all this comotion bout Kil'Jaeden is making me consider rerolling. My accounts are still on RAF so I suppose it wouldnt take too long, and my current guys are only level 61, but if I did Id be leaving behind the MB community on Khaz and my first guys which Ive grown qutie attached to >.<
I could only imagine transferring if I could transfer ALL my (main) characters. That would really be too expensive to consider.
Heh...bingo. $25/ea gets insane too fast. And redoing RAF implies months of work, followed by multiple trips through Outland, followed by multiple trips through The Land of Many Collection Quests.
Although it is occasionally tempting to reactivate RAF with some new accounts and go 2x through to get a single active team on KJ. OTOH I am still kinda annoyed over Goblins being the new Horde race...wtf?

This has a lot to do with it for me. $75 weeds out most of the immature kiddies who think that's a lot of money each month. I would have no problem working on raids with other boxers because we'd both know it's in our best interests to agree and work together when it comes to progression/loot. Thankfully the friends in my guild are cool enough to not have to deal with the assholes in the game - they get gkicked quick.

Since you still have RAF, roll a team. If you don't like it, don't log back in. No harm, no foul. Aboron rolled a fresh team here to test the waters too.
This isn't meant to be a "AMG COME TO KJ" post. Not by any means. I'm just amazed at what a night and day difference the game has become for me, to what it had become. For me, the $125 price tag + the uncertainty was what put me off for so long. I was just curious what the community thought because at one point in my wow career I've related to each choice in the poll. (well, most of them) I like hearing from all sides from the "ZOMG get me off this rock" to "I love my server / guild"

If your alliance I would urge you to go KJ.
It's really hard to explain the awesomeness of raiding/pvping/chilling with other multiboxers. I haven't played in awhile but doing stuff with LoB easily extended my wow addiction for a few additional months.

played solo mode in euro pvp server for about 2 years. really legendary people around at time.
stopped for long time, basically a /quit.
restarted in my current server, my brother server. we started planning to multibox together.
but real life "issues" have destroyed this project. he totally quitted, and i m stayed alone here.
at that time, my feelings were:
- /quit wow
- give me a serious multibox-try (6 months, using RaF) then /quit wow
my choice is ---> the nr 2 :)
the /quit option is fallen, i found this style of play really interesting and funny.
My server choice? when activated new accounts, january/2009, level 70 paladin-booster was here. really not considered implications about server-choice at that time.
1st, quote:
wheres the 'i play on a european server' option, i just dont know of that many active euro boxers anymore
2nd quote:
There are a lot of immature small minded jerks playing wow, and for a lot of us, those people are the reason why we box.
add :
it s complex reroll without transferring chars. transferring is not exactly cheap. and it sounds me like a high risk-bid atm. no many european boxers around. no sure if it can work as i hope.
but, i would like give it a try. where active european boxers guilds are? (retoric)

I came from the idea I wanted to group 90% of the time in WOW. It wore down when there weren't enough people that wanted to do what I wanted to do (elite quests out in the wild, older dungeons, etc). So I made my own group (boxing).
If I moved, it would be so I could box with others during normal content, not just for max level stuff. I would make a 2-3 man team and go with another boxer to a normal instance. I would have another 2-3 man team and go with another boxer to do harder quests. I would still want to group up, just use more chars to do it.
The problem, I think is most people want to rush to max level and that is all they care about. "Why do Maraudon when Blah-Blah makes you level faster?" "I don't want to do a lvl 58 dungeon when I can go to Outland and level." "We shouldn't challenge ourselves to do a lvl 70 heroic cause we can just go to Northrend and level up." I guess I would want to play the game more than just focus on leveling. And that leaves me in the minority.
What I would wish for is a list of boxing styles so people could match up that way (PVP, raid--boxing, raid-solo, leveling, etc).
daviddoran
11-23-2009, 07:25 PM
I did the lvl 70 heroics when I first got my team to 70. My paladin tank (pre boxing) was already relatively geared, and I wanted the challenge. I got decent exp out of it, got to experience the content I missed out on due to fail pugs, and such, I learned a lot for heroics in general, and was able to apply what I learned to lvl 80 heroics.
We have one boxer that boxes just because he wants to see old content, that isn't easily soloable. He regularly 5 mans the lvl 60 raids, and on more than one occasion we've gonoe and done MC, and AQ as a guild. One time in AQ, forget if it was 20 or 40, but we were just gathering tons of mobs, and AOEing them down (i was running 3 mages, a holy priest and a prot pally, so I had AoE galore) and we didnt even notice that a boss was part of the pull until we looted the epix.... that was a lot of fun :)

I'm actually looking at xferring at least my shamans at the end of the season.
I'm at a point where I hate my server as it seems to always be in the low pop category even shortly after free transfers get opened to it. In addition, our battlegroup (vengeance) isn't nearly as active as the others, so it's very hard to keep my team above 1800. What I've been looking for is a higher pop server that's in a decent battlegroup. So after compiling the list several times, I finally wrote a small program that takes the census data and combines it with the arena rankings to make a better decision on the US-PVP only realms:
The problem with the census sites is that they only show you the server population, and not the # of 80s, where their datafiles contain that information. I'm also looking to where horde is either outnumbered or close. After running my program, I get the following data:
http://www.garysdecks.com/WoW/RealmData.png
So from the list, it looks like Ner'zhul will likely be my destination (1.3 : 1 alliance/horde ratio), over 6000 active alliance 80s, and the #1 battlegroup.

Having started the game on Darkspear (PvP), I have come to detest PvP. Perhaps I'm too old fashioned or believe in honorable combat to enjoy WoW PvP. To me PvP is not being 10 levels or more higher and one shotting someone or 5 on 1. I also really hate getting ganked when I'm fighting a mob. OK, yeah I have been ganked too much and I play a Priest (the squishiest of the clothies IMO). So, I went to a PVE server and I do love not having to worry about getting ganked.
That said, I am still learning how to play a group of different classes (I suck at PvP, so I would hate to multi-suck :)). I might be tempted to come over since running around with other MBxers would provide safety in numbers. I know, gank does happen. :).
The cost can be an issue depending on the current bills, most of my friends have went different directions. Isn't KJ in PST? Since I am EST, that means that I would be three hours ahead (not a show stopper).

I have a few reasons I stay on Nathrezim, even though it's a mediocre server (but then again, everyone says that about their server). The reasons are:
- I'm the only level 80 multiboxer, on either side. Or at least, I've never encountered another. I've been around long enough and I'm well known (and hopefully respected) at this point. Although I'm pretty much immune to the hate (and jealousy), having a reputation helps.
- There are no high rated multiboxing teams in arena on my battlegroup. Opponents are less accustomed to the comp
- Being well known makes it much easier to get into raids, and anytime I play WG and other BGs I constantly have healers following me around and helping, which is nice
- I've server transferred several times before, both single and multiboxing, and there's always pros and cons. I never found one server to be significantly better than another,.. When I left Sargeras I lost the benefits of a high pop server and good economy, but I got out of that awful battlegroup. Sargeras also seemed to be swarming with punk little kids and elitists, which were irritating to play with no matter what, but I recognized more people... Nathrezim is really transient, but the people seem to be decent as far as wow goes

What does the "491 / 491 100% Thaurissan" at the top of the screenshot mean?
I'm loading it from the census data:
http://www.warcraftrealms.com/dataexport.php
There are 490 servers listed in http://www.warcraftrealms.com/exports/download.php?fname=realmcomposite.csv.gz
My program reads that file, and then grabs each server file for PVP and US only to compile all the data. Since it takes it about 10-15 seconds to read it all, it's nothing more than a progress indicator showing how much data it's loaded. I didn't take the time to remove the header row, so it's off by 1. ;)

can we get multiple choices ?
I'm considering transfering/rerolling but I have a nice ecology of a lot of toons and a lot of professions etc... and transfering them all (say at least 3 "good" toons accross 6 accounts = 18 characters is a bit expensive ) - not counting 2 guild , one of which has 3 tabs
What I think I will do is roll a new team with BF wow @4.99 and then transfer that team - or transfer just the booster back and forth (but then I need to carefully plan what I send with him, money and mats wise)
Edit: Question about that btw - if you transfer RAF toons do they keep their "grantable" levels across the transfer or you must use or loose before transfer ? (obviously it's probably safer to use before transfer but if it would work to use after that be better as my booster account is "full" on my main realm): found the answer in blizz FAQ: no I'd have to grant before transfer - so that kind of shoots one of the benefits.... maybe I have to transfer a booster and some money and mats to KJ then...
And then there is the potential reason that it may not "work out"

i like the "Don't want to be in guild with Gurblash / Fursphere / Svpernova" option. made me lol.
i choose too established. i dont really db enough to consider myself one. mostly i have the alt one logged when i need stuff and dont want to be bothered with goin to the bank or need ore mined. but primarily because ive got a good amount of people on my server that i know. they all seem to be drifting away so maybe in the future, but we'll see.

For those who like to read meaningless stories:
Why I'm on my current server? Cause it was the 'selected' server when I signed up 5 weeks ago. Played 1 week solo to see if i'd like the game, however I decided to multibox before i signed up.
WoW is my first 3D game. I started with Dark Castle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Castle) on my Mac in 1986. Never ever played a 3D game. Joined my first text based rpg somewhere in the mid 90s. Was never a big gamer. In 2004 I joined a popular mafia text based rpg. As I wanted to have several builds I had to violate the TOS (only 1 char allowed per person), which resulted in a whole suite to manage that. Played that game for 4 years. Last year i joined a static 2D 'fantasy' rpg, played up to 12 toons simultaneous when someone showed me a link to a 'crazy wow player' article, which turns out to be prepared. While most found that crazy, i found that cook :P Thats how i learned it was possible to box.
Back to october: i got bored with the game i was playing after reaching everything possible. A friend told me about warhammer. Went to the shop to buy it, but to no avail, out of stock. So I bought a copy of WoW classic by accident. Took me a couple of days before I installed it, a few more to sign up, Ever since I first logged in I'm hooked. A week later I started to box with 5 toons. Got 5 more fully upgraded accounts ready to box 10 toons in the future.
I'm boxing cause I don't like to count on other players. I'm not a social gamer, only with people who share the same interests. Which turns out to be boxing.
Why I haven't changed servers yet? First want to ding 80 (hope somwhere next week). Then want to make use of my raf to boost 4 more teams. Signed up on the EU pvp realm mentioned above. Still unsure if i'll transfer my toons or if i will stay on my current server and level up a few teams there. My biggest doubt is that being active on 2 servers. If there was an option to transfer all my toons (besides my main team) at once, i'd probably do it right away (so account transfer instead of toon transfer). But transfering 15 toons is a bit expensive after purchasing tig copies of the game with the upgrades just a month ago.

I choose my server because the data center is close to me (under 100 pings) and at the time there was a lot more ally then horde (Im horde) so I would have more targets/victims.
I did see 2 other boxers though so far one horde and one ally iirc.
Im on Ner'zhul and it seems ok. I wouldnt go to a non pvp server anyways.

Well my first team dinged 60 after about 2 weeks. Not very spectacular given
- the excellent info that is available here
- the great attitude of boxers willing to help noobs and put them in the right direction here
- a guide that tells you basically what to click, where to go and what to do ... one has to be rather retarded to get lost with such a tool
- having enough free time to play, or create the time eventually cancelling a free lance project with the reason being 'too busy' :P
- having 3x xp ....
I figured I can level a team to 60 once I hit 80 with my main in a day or 2-3 (have read stories here from people that can do it way faster, but i guess i'll have to learn the instances first). It's simple math. Since my raf is valid till 18/01/10 I should have plenty of time to level 4 more teams to 60.

I was a server gypsy, moved so many times as a single boxer looking for the 'right' server:
Mags
Jubei Thos
Frostmourne
Ghostlands
Tichondrius (ally and horde) still have an ally mage there
Barthilas - (almost perfect)
and finally found it - Caelestrasz. I wouldn't move if you paid me and don't transfer here - we have enough boxers. Caelestrasz is not for you ;)

Mostly because I have a lot of chars and it'll be costly to move. I'm not going to start from scratch again, so moving is the only option. However, the company of other boxers would be very nice - especially when rated BGs hit.
I've reached the point where I'd be willing to shell out for a transfer, now I'm just making sure I'm making the right choice ($275 for transfers + faction change - eek) by moving to the EU boxer capital. My current battlegroup (Cyclone) seems pretty soft, but the alleged nasty Misery battlegroup is another matter and I'm a PvP noob since last I PvP'ed was back in BC :-)

Offtopic is my fault
I was mostly curious about the getting to 80 part - I know 1-60 with RAF is very fast - after it gets a lot slower - though I suppose now 60-70 is also very fast as thet gimped the xp needed there too but 71-80 is slow and painful from my recollection, that's the part I'm curious about - I suppose it depends how many hours a day you can play
In any case good luck !

I'm on my server because pretty much most of my RL friends also play on this server. WoW is far more of a social tool for me than a game probably. We were friends long before WoW and will be after. As far as multiboxing goes....this is a fairly recent thing for me.

Again, as stated, I am an oceanic boxer as well, I play from about 10am Seoul time (same as perth time maybe?) to 1pm and then again from 10pm to 3am or so weekdays.
I am usually on every day on the weekends and I save money here in Korea so i don't go out much, as its too expensive. I have a lot of people on my friends list who run raids and such, BGs and world PvP oceanic hours too, so even if they aren't in the guild it doesn't mean there's nothing to do! =)

for me its simple:
I joined a nice not raid orientated guild, some nice guyes from my molten core raid where in and I simply found the perfect home:
- a nice casual family like guild
- nice people, which i have met on several guild meetings in real life
- most of them are 20+, in some kind of job or studing
- not raid oriented
- very open minded about me multiboxing (I never recieved a bad comment from them about it, only a 'cool' and 'how to do it')
..so for me leaving the server or the guild, would be like loosing my 'WoW-home', so a strict no-go.
Thats pretty much how I started as well.
Except that I started my own guild and got some nice people in there.
Then when we were all at lvl 70 and doing hc's and stuff, some friends in another guild were using my main (holy pally) as their tank healer in Kara and someone brought up the idea of merging guilds so that we would have enough regulars online so we wouldnt have to pug the last few spots in a raid... and end up with assholes.
I still have my original guild where I have my multiboxers and the guys in my main guild all know who to look for if they need me in a raid (although I havent been raiding for the last 3 weeks because of my arm) they would summon me if they needed either of my main healers or my hunter for a raid.
If I was to move servers, it would involve moving them and changing factions as well because I would go to the horde side to play with some friends who moved to another server.
So for now, I am sticking on Anachronos where there is a couple of other boxers, one of which is in my friends list and we are chatting a fair amount as we are playing our boxing team :)

Thats really cool, but at the moment on Khaz Im in a guild with 4 other boxers and we have fun on there together. Im quite content on there. A few reasons I haven't jumped servers. I started on Earthen Ring and made a few friends, most of which now either no longer play or jumped servers themselfs, have too many issues in RL to play online when I am, and I have all my toons which I care not to reroll on a new server. I've invested too much time in gettting achievements on them, my own guild banks for storage, and the cost to transfer them all to way to high. Another thing is the latency issue. My lag stays under 75ms on when I'm on the hours I get to play. Even in the after noon or sometimes prime time hours in the evening, it don't peek over 150ms which I like. I tried a few other servers here and there but non have let me run in the green, all have been to high for my tastes. I might try out KJ later, but now I'm still tryin to work on my teams I still have atm. Might try ther after Cataclysm, but don't hold me to that.

Xferring all my characters off draenor to another server would set me back about 300 euro's (around 450 US dollars). Not really worth it...

There is nothing to consider.
Account Management -> Paid Character Transfer -> Source Realm -> BADORAN -> Destination Realm -> KIL'WINJAEDEN
I think mixed teams would be fine on a PvP server, you're still focus firing 1 target. You may even be better off as you may have more CC options. I totally understand not wanting to be harassed while trying to get something done. I haven't had much of any problems. People tend to leave me alone. I've been on the doing end of the ganking much more often than on the receiving side. Last night when I was heading to UK, I circled around the stone to see if any horde were around and I wiped 3-5 groups all the way from the stone to the instance portal. All while allowing alliance to safely summon their group mates. Wasn't until they had about 12 80s on me that I finally wiped. WTB infinite mana cheat codez

Well I started a new team on Kil'Jaeden and Fursphere kindly allowed me to join his guild. I am playing a draeni classic team (pally+shammyx4). I am starting from scratch. I have 2 80's and 5 70+ and countless 60+ characters on the Shu'halo server. To be honest I did put a lot of time into those teams so I may transfer some of them over time, but not right away. I probably will split my time between servers but i will spend most of it on Kil'Jaeden.
My reason for the move is simple. Shu'halo is boring. There is one other boxer there and I think he went awol. I rarely got a good remark from anybody on shu'halo but I got loads of hate. And the worst part was that I actually did a paid transfer to shu'halo from azuremyst at the request of a family member only to find out that they would leave for another server 3 weeks later along with their friends and guildmates. So no I won't be doing a paid transfer for a while. I don't care if I have to start over. The game is still there and will be there for another 5+years (I hope).
Now because I am starting over I get to enjoy the content. Yeah, I do wish I can level faster but it is what it is. I am going to do it right (IMO) this time. I am going to skill of profs and secondary skills while leveling. I am going to do the instances at the right level brackets. Its going to take me year I believe to get to 80. But I don't care. I just want to play the game and hang out with people that I have something in common with. And I hope it all works out.
Previously all my teams have been mixed teams. The team I have now is easy mode. Very easy mode. Paladin+Shamanx4 team is a starter team for boxers. Since I use IS and ISboxer and have written many macros already and use the FTL and made formations previously this team was a snap to setup. I wasted no time on setup and was ready to go quickly. Thank goodness for experience.
On Kil'Jaeden the population is aware of the boxing teams and the Legion of Boom guild. I got a lot of cool comments about my team. So far this has been the most positive reception of mutliboxing I have had. It is a high pop server and you see a lot of action in the field while doing quests. And the guild members are cool too. There is no rush to do anything, just play at your pace. They do raid on Monday and Thursday nights at 7pm but it's not required that you take part.
Anyway I have said enough :)

KJ has been awesome. You do what you want without feeling the pressure (except Gurb on the backend) and everyone seems to have a good time. While obviously you can play and do what you want anytime and on any server, sometimes there is that perceived pressure to do things. Not here. Everyone understand the trials of boxing and what it takes to succeed. Hell even I have been going out of Dalaran! Sure i've been ganked but I have ganked back :) One thing that is funny is being ganked in the middle of NPCs. They dont take attacking kindly, so I just stand there and watch the horde die. And laugh.

I have been Horde forever so I don't want to spend the $$ to server/faction transfer a horde team. I rolled an Alliance team last week on Cho' Gall because there was a wow forum post pleading for newcomers/transfers. Holy crap this place is dead alliance side. Seriously, I was in IF at peak evening and I was alone!!! If it becomes unbearable PvP wise I may transfer this team to KJ.
So far all the horde I have run into in alliance areas have cheered me, which could be good or bad. The worst part is not having any $$, it is like starting on brand new server. Nothing in the ah and no one to buy your stuff. I am L20 now but I can't buy my mounts until I farm up the gold. Gonna have to hit up deadmines a bunch to earn it.
This is a challenge but I might just like having a decent challenge for once.

I believe it. I was chatting in trade before work tonight and I could hear my voice echoing. lol.
There was only 4 or 5 of us chatting. If I can level this team pretty fast I can make all of them my friends by doing 4 box +1 instances.
Edit: I read the article on wow.com. Very interesting read.

I'm actually looking for a place to xfer my 5 shaman team, even though they are fairly low level. Being that I'm already on a PvP server Spinebreaker-US it may not make much difference unless there is quite a bit of M/B'ers already over here. I don't actually get to M/B much since I usually only M/B from home/desktop system. I travel and and until I get a system capable of doing it on the road I guess I'l have to wait a bit.

Used to be a boxer on my server to do things with but he moved to another server. I would really love to be raiding with other boxers and doing PVP but the cost is just too much for me at this time.
And no RAF makes it way too tough to level a new team when i have 3 sets of 80's and id just be remaking something i already have.
It really makes me jealous to here about you guys and your group/guild exploits :(

For most folks the holidays means lots of spending on family and it makes them broke. For me it means tons of OT and a fat wallet. I may do some team moving in January when I can block out some cash.

A few reasons, too sell established, I actually like my server, very good and old friends on my server, I solo raid and I will (hopefully) never roll horde.

i absolutely <3 my guild, and most people in there.
I raid end-game content with my main-characters therefore multiboxing is more or less merely a tool to get equipment/shards/emblems fast and effective without running with pugs all the time.
My desire to play with people other than the few in my raid is quite ... non existing anyway. :)

This is pretty much me in a nutshell. I dont really consider my boxing characters as alts. They are simple an extension of my main, my Paladin Tank. If he can get crafted gear faster, access to tonnes of matts/gems and never need to rely on another player for any professions, blitz heroics without relying on LFG (even tho its instant). That is the reason I do it.
Caelastraez (Oceanic) Horde has about 8 boxers on it already and we hang out and socialize in a chat channel 'caelmb' and have a small Vent server to use if we want to PvP together or shoot the breeze.

Slats speaketh Truth.
My All-Paladin team is leveling on Cael, currently 55 and movin' up, and there's quite a few other Multiboxers on Cael, hopefully to become the unofficial "Aussie Multiboxer Realm".

I enjoy being the ONLY multi-boxer on my server. The alliance fear me in WG, and even when they win WG (twice a week) I alone can kill half of theyre raid time while their entire raid engages me one by one :p
However, the Horde will soon feel this terror as well... :)

Started on illidan in BC because someone in my school played there. Stayed because pugs for everything were easy.
Cause my wife will insta-gib me in RL and i don't have any avoidance/resilience/resistance to her attacks.
Kidding aside, it will be more challenging to make gold where other boxers already exist. I'm not filthy-gold-rich nor an AH nazi extremist but I get by with my guys. Imagine 100 xmutist from just a few boxers.. :) More importantly and seriously though, good friends are hard to leave behind.
Edit: Rerolling is an option.. Uggh.. The time...

I'm an old-school cRPGer, and boxing means I can play WoW as a single player game. Every human in the game is a badly-written NPC, as far as I'm concerned. I'm happy to play with my girlfriend or friends if they pop online, but otherwise, WoW is just not a social game for me.
Also, Lightbringer is one of the few servers that never seems to appear on the "these servers are severely fucked and will be offline for the foreseeable future" list. Leaving Lightbringer would probably end up in regret.

I've moved servers twice. Once to get off of a PVP server when it seemed that my friends would stop playing (which they did, some permanently, and some for a few months). The second time was to join the friends that had returned and re-rolled or moved to another PVE server. Sigh...
Anyway, I'm raiding with the guild they are in now and don't multibox often, but have kept the account active while I level up the professions on the alts. I'm tempted to fold everything into two or three accounts and cancel the subs on the others. But with an expansion around the corner, I dunno...

How bad were the queues on KJ at WotLK release or at major patches?

No idea about expansion launches, but...
There were no queues when ICC launched in December. There was, however, retarded amounts of lag during peak hours but it wasn't just our battlegroup that experienced this crazy lag, so it's hard to pinpoint the exact cause. This lag was happening on both US and EU battlegroups, almost as if Blizzard had pushed some ninja patch with 3.3 that messed things up "behind-the-scenes".

I rerolled. Not a lot beats 2-3 boxers teaming up for a BG.

I haven't seen a queue in a very long time. During "vanilla wow" there would often be a queue during peak raid times, but that never happens anymore. Wrath launch was flawless, as was TBC. The opening of AQ gates, now THAT was a nightmare. :(

This was a few weeks after WOTLK launched from memory. I think I another SS somewhere from Blackrock where I was 2000/1999/19998 etc in the queue but I cant find it. :(
