how to cast a rank macro?

its a 80 druid and rank 4 or /cast wild growth donesnt heal my lvl 60s lol
what woud the proper macro for that

Not wild regrowth, If you don't put a rank, it uses the highest rank you have.

if for whatever crazy reason you WANT a rank in, it would be /cast wild growh (rank 2)

Without specifying a rank, you're get the highest rank you know.

Blizz has nerfed down-ranking our spells, so you are charged the mana for the highest rank you know, even if you cast a lower rank spell. So aside from landing buffs on toons too low to be buffed by your highest rank (the downranking of buffs happens automatically), I cannot think of a reason why you'd want a lower rank.

The only way to really downrank now, is to not train higher ranks. If you have enough +healing, it might be more mana efficient to use the lower rank.

But since you are always charged as much mana as the highest rank you have, and not specifying a rank gets you the highest rank, I would not recommend even bothering with (rank2) or whatever.

i know but rank 4 will not heal my toons niether with rank 3 i tryied it and wiped my party lol so im stuck with rank2 untill they all hit 65 then rank 3 the 75 rank 4 same with gift of wild i have to use lvl 70 one

I'm saying, don't make a macro like this:
/cast Spell (rank 4)

And don't go:
/cast Spell (rank 2)

Just go with:
/cast Spell

It will automatically pick the highest rank that will land on the target (some buffs will not land on toons that are much lower like say the priests Spirit buff on a level 4). Regardless of the rank it chooses, you will be charged mana for the highest rank you know.

For heal spells, they should land on any target irregardless of the targets level; if they don't you have some kind of a bug.

It wont for various spells, for example you cannot Prayer of Fortitude a level 1 group )and most Cork/AutoBuff addons will just keep trying candle after candle to do this). I suspect that Wild Growth cannot target a character that is significantly lower and won't down rank.

You can opt to view all ranks of your spells in the spellbook. Then just shift click the rank you want to see the exact syntax to make it work. So you ISBoxer users (like me) can write your macros correctly for boosting.
