View Full Version : A serious attempt at getting some raids started.

OK GUYS!!
since there a lot more of us now, I suggest we organize and find times when we can all get together and down some bosses.
HERE's my plan, and I don't know if anyone else in interested, but I wanted to throw it out there.
I am willing to lead / help a raid of us LoBs and start doing 10man content together (current content, Ulduar > Icecrown when its out)
The reason is simple, I really enjoy raiding, and even more, I enjoy playing with friends.
Here's the bonus for us. If we have 5 to 10 people interested, we can run the same content several times, giving us an edge on attempts over ANYONE ELSE in the game. Now, obviously we need gear for it, and I think that starting out in the 10mans that are available is a good way to facilitate that. Im sure we can do 10man Ulduar and 10m ToC by ourselves, as many of us PuG them several times a week anyway.
But, we have the unique opportunity in WoW, that if we can steamroll any bosses in the game, we can do it several times a week. This amounts to us gearing every toon faster than we could by pugging, and all we need to do is pick a team of people who can get online at the same time and have gear appropriate for the encounters targeted that day.
For example, we may try and go to ToC and just start with trying to down the beasts, and if we can do jarrax, great! If we learn the fight once, we can replicate it several times a week, and that makes us very productive, we also get more attempts per week at the bosses in icecrown (limited by attempts) if we get that far
Anyway.. its a small idea, and I just thought I would throw it out there and see who was interested. The nice thing is, im sure that we can dual-box some roles, and even some fights in ToC one person can bring 4-5 DPS without really being a problem.
Let me know

He's the one cause the ONY anomalies
I'm available till about 9ish PST, after that, I'm pretty much worthless. >.<
I've got a fair bit of wrath raiding experience, and a lot of Pre-BT raid experience so I'm willing to do whatever I can to help. I just may be crashing early on you >.<

I'm not a sure thing until after 8pm on the weekdays, before that its a gamble. Weekends hit/miss.

My dedicated time is 7pm onward, Monday and Thursday.
Anything else requires renegotiation with the spousal unit. Although its usually pretty easy.

Aye that's what I've got lined up right now, but terms can be re-negotiated.

Well, unfortunatly I am at work when you are raiding, so if that's the only time you guys can make it, then I am going to have to just sit out, but I am often on when you guys are on in the weekend, and I have no doubt we can set something up for Friday or Saturday night (your time) which is: in my time (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meetingtime.html?month=11&day=20&year=2009&p1=256&p2=235&p3=-1&p4=-1) morning, and perfect overlap for us to get together.
If it doesn't work, it doesn't work, but as more and more people join the guild from other servers, which is happening alot these days, and attracting other players is going to require a more rigid policy about raiding at some point, and I am offering to run / assist with them as required, to relieve the pressure for Fur from feeling obligated to do such things.
So, Friday or Saturday evening, anyone willing to set aside a couple hours to do some ToC10 / Ulduar10 etc?

Even though I will be concentrating on leveling my alt team I am available to heal.

I see nothing wrong with multiple raid schedules, provided the class makeup is thought through first. But I'm sure most of us have tanks and healers, so maybe its a non issue...

You guys don't know how much I've love you if you organized stuff with the guildies.
Hmm.. lemme think of a good way to organize this - on "paper" I mean. Like, raid sign ups or something.

you'd be surprised at how many people effectively ignore that thing...
but ya, good idea.

Not to mention we cant get into it at work (unless we're like Multibocks and can grind BGs at work...)
But it does seem like the easiest way. What seemed to work for us was "we're raiding SOMETHING on x day at x time, so log on at that time and line up"

Make a new thread, sticky to top of forum. With current weeks raid schedule, as well as signups in the post. Clear the posts each week on Tuesday.

What we did in DiT, was "Be in game on X days at Y time for Z instance" But i think our Monday / thursdays are fine

My kid goes to bed at 8-8:30pm PST, so not available til after then. When I move next summer I will be in CST and will thus be available earlier (going off a PST schedule) so might be more accessible then.
Definitely interested in whatever you guys work out.

I have a bunch of webspace, free registrations and loads of apps that i can use on them, so im going to try and make a calander program work on my newly minted un-official guild calander website:
www.fursphere4prez.com (http://www.fursphere4prez.com)
yes, legionofboom.com and legion-of-boom.com are taken, this was not the next logical address, but it was funny, I have had 5 beers and its 3am. What can you expect.
more info on if it works or not soon, but it should support what we need at least until we find a better tool.
EDIT: its going to take some time to install the calendar program, an eternity of 10 minutes actually, and I am too tired to wait for it to spend the next 5 hours configuring it, so im going to bed and waking up tomorrow to play WoW with you guys and neglect this calendar tool all-together. BUT I will soon fix it and make it work.. maybe =)

Well if I bring my 2 80's over I am all for raiding with you all. My schedule is bad though. I am only available from 9:30pm - midnight M-F. Saturdays are usually open and sometimes Sunday. But don't count me in yet. I need to transfer first.

wtb raid times > 7pm :-) (9pm+ being ideal - or weekend any time but 7pm)
Fursphere

So you want late nights? (PST)
Moorea
12-01-2009, 03:40 PM
"Evening" pst yes - I come back from work most days around 8pm pst so 9pm start would be ideal for me - on weekends it could be any time at all except dinner time (ie not 7-8:30pm pst) - if that's too late for many (like central/east folks) I'd understand but then maybe we could try some things on weekends during day time (or night or whichever works)
ps: on the other hand given that I only have 1 level 80 on KJ so far we shouldn't arrange time around my schedule at all ! maybe once my other 4 pallies get to 80 !

Yeah, weeknights for me are 9:30pm - 12:30am. My team isn't 80 yet but I can still do 70+ content.
For the next 2 weeks I won't be online much due to work overload but after that I am back to my normal schedule.

I could probably do 9-11 raids. Have to be up at 5 for work usually, but 6 hours of sleep is where its at.
