View Full Version : Gearing up for next season - honor cap question

I'm closing in on the honor cap atm, and it's a bit of a waste if I can't do WG quests due to that fact, so my question is this. How do I best spend my honor points?
The way I understand it, is that some of the rated gear (for instance, relentless cloak) will have the rating removed next season, the same way furious cloak rating has been removed this season. Is it safe to spend honor on the cloak, as to not reach the honor cap? Ie. is it "a sure thing" that the rating requirement will be removed once pvp season changes?

Hmm ya know I'm not sure you can purchase the cloak now without the personal rating necessary. Have to check one of the uber pvpers here, but I think I have tried that before and got the message that you dont have the rating to buy it.

I think I can purchase it, I just can't equip it. Not entirely sure though.

No you need the rating to buy - you do not need the rating to equip once bought eg you can get the cloak from VoA and equip. It is the purchasing that requires the rating.

Its usually best to buy a ring as you need 2 of them :)

Oh yeah, I didn't think of that - I need a furious ring anyway. Thanks a bundle for the tip :-)

Max out everything you can as far as gear and then once you have no gear left to buy, get honor capped and cash out with epic gems once a week -- between double WG and BGs it takes about a week to get honor capped which translates to 28 epic gems for 4 toons, 35 if you have 5 -- I buy rubies which sale for 160g per on my server ;) its nice pulling out 5k from my mail box once a week =P

If your looking to save up honor cant you just farm and save up the honor tokens you can buy from the WG vendors.
Use the honor your toon has to buy the gems as suggested but save the tokens for the start of next season?

You can, but that won't help with the (significant) honor you get from the weekly WG quests. You can save up arena points for the honor tokens (cost 100 points) and stone keepers shards + WG tokens for honor commendations, but you need some buffer for the honor you get from weekly quests (around 15-20k per week i think).

I have plenty of gold, if my only gain from farming BG's is some extra gold, I'd prefer levelling alts or cooking or whatever :P

If you have enough gold, have no gear to buy thats an upgrade, there's not much left. The Relentless gear all requires a rating of 1200-1500 or so.
My guys have all the furious offset pieces, 4 pieces of deadly set (one is still resto, i was doubling up on resil 2pc bonus) resil trinkets, and I'm maxed. I need gold though, so Ive been dumping all my honor into gems, having my JC friend cut em and AH em. I plan on leveling 5 engineers.... rocket boots, and parachute ganking looks like so much fun...

I'm done with my pvp grind for this season too, so i dump my honor into epic gems. Doing WG a few times, and a pvp daily or two, I'm pulling about 30-40k honor per week without even trying.
I have quite a stockpile for personal use, and am using the AH procedes to buy two more Traveler's Tundra Mounts.
