I wasn't really paying attention when I allied A with aldor and BCDE with the scryers. Was just thinking I was accepting another quest. Google tells me it has a big influence on the questlines.
As I want to keep my dudes on par, I want to undo the aldor one. But it would take me 90 dampscale basilisk eye to make that undone. With a droprate of 10% it would take me 1K kills ...not keen on that either (and the farming xp gain would equal 1-2 quests).
I'd buy it from the AH, but nothing there for a day.

My questions:

- is it really such a big difference in questlines? if yes should i just farm the basilisk till i have enough eyes?
- does it play a role in the endgame = lvl 70+?

cheers

Doesn't make much of a difference.. only a couple quests that each one gives over the others. You wont ever need it again once you past 70. The only nice thing about it is if you farm enough you can get the shoulder enchants for a couple levels before you can start farming Hodir rep.
Not that much though really not worth the effort. My pally team was stuck like that. My tank I started with aldor and my alts are scryers. I had leveled them to 70 separately so I forgot when I leveled the 4 rets with my DK cuz I didn't want to bother with the aldor elevator. Then leveled them to 80 with my main pally. lol long rant.
Really don't worry about it.

Awesome, thanks. And just in time, was about to pay 450 gold for 90 :P
If you ever happened to be around, i owe you a beer (or 234)

Back in Burning Crusade, when 99% of toons were bound in Shat, it would have been an inconvenience.
But even then, you could just move each group to the middle on its own.

The banks will show red (hostile) npc's, but you can enter freely and use the mail there.
It's unlikely you'll do the shoulder enchants, but you'd need to go to each respective bank for those.

Really, there's 2-3 repeatable quests for faction with each.
And in Netherstorm out of area 52, there are a few chains which are slightly different depending on faction.
Not a major deal, especially with 30% reduction in experience per level in BC now.
I usually ding 70th, prior to leaving Blades Edge Mountains.
And a 68th level move to Northrend is usually a good idea, unless you want to maximize long term gold from quests.
