Heroics with no healer?

I was just thinking of switching up my main team and I was hoping someone could answer me a question before I go regearing anyone.

Can most/any heroics be cleared with a pally tank with NO heals. My team would be Pally tank + 4 mages. These days the content seems trivialized anyway and I was just curious if my PvP team could pull off most heroics for quick badges and PvE loot. I could always drop a mage for a priest for instances where heals are a absolute must (HToC I'm not sure I see being done without heals).

Thoughts?

Yes if your tank is geared enough very few fights require healing - you may have to pull 1 pack of trash at a time but should be doable - the only problem you might have is against encounters with significant magic damage Use Seal of light and JoL

Exactly. Though GETTING geared enough for that will be painful as sin via badge loot. Might be more reasonable gearing up in PVP first, but not sure what your desires are for gearing methods.

It would suck to start the long journey of gearing that team. As Ugmahedhurtz says, pvp might be a viable option.

PvP gear will not be as good for heroics as PvE gear; it is itemized wrong.

But you can get a fairly decent set of PvP gear, based solely on time invested.
And you could do it, without a tank or healer.

And a set of Deadly level gear will make heroics much easier, then starting them ungeared.
Go for the ascendancy honor items on the mages, for the +hit.

Do your 10 games of arena each week, you don't even have to enter the arena.
But a lot of teams aren't entering (just getting points), so entering will help your rating.
Arena points make the honor level gear a lot cheaper.

If you have a decent amount of gold, and have a bunch of arena points saved.
Quite a few 3's teams will boost one toon to 1850 (or whatever) for weapons.
It might be worth it, they're a fair bit better then Titansteel crafted stuff.

By the same token, if you have gold from dailies or whatever.
You can purchase ToC/Ulduar 25 epics for your tank, on the auction house.

I guess I should have clarified a bit more. I was just curious if that team is viable for end game heroics and which heroics I should avoid like the plague.

The team I currently run is druid, 3x mage, priest and I have cleared every heroic available with that team. I would be swapping the pally in for the druid and the 4th mage for the priest. Their main focus will be pvp (pally, 4x mage) but I would really like to be able to farm heroics with them to gear up for PvE as well.

3 of my mages are capable of 4-5k dps in heroics already. Paladin and 4th mage are not geared but could be boosted through the gearing process like mad if necessary.

You would be able to do some, but not all bosses. With SoL / JoL I rarely need to heal, but I do need to heal sometimes. Still, you could probably do enough bosses that you could get some quick badges :)

I currently don't use a healer with my warrior/4 shammy set... they're all ele.

For heals I only use 2 separate macros. One for "LHW the tank" and another for "Chain Heal Me", which in turn heals everyone around them.

Elemental shamans also work as healers - no healers means no healers. No healing stream, no lesser healing wave, no chain heal, no nothing - for instance tank + 4 mages like OP said. I'm running with paladin + 4 elemental shaman and can confirm you can do all heroics (and Glory of the Hero) with that setup, but literally no healers is another matter.

Im hoping to roll with no main healer myself... but i have 3 off healers so not anything crazy like warrior 4 mages. we'll see if i can make it work.

If your mages are already hitting 4-5k dps then you should have no problem doing most heroics with no healer. Id boost the pala with your other team to get him some tank gear in toc and toc heroic. Get anything that reduces the cooldown on lay on hands. Trinkets with on use avoidance abilities like the Valor Medal of the First War will be very useful. Use your iceblock and bubble to give the pala a min to heal himself up.

My team is 3 dps 1 tank and 1 healer and I very rarely have to heal. Most bosses just get nuked down before you even see their abilities.
