I recently transfered one of my alts to another account and decided to dual-box. I have friends in game who do the same thing on 1 PC and have absolutely no performance problems, so I decided to give it a try. My PC is a P4 3.4 gigz dual core, with 2 gigs of ram, and the video card is a geforce 8800gts. The two clients are also on different hard drives.

When both clients first log in everything is smooth as can be in extreme performance. After a couple of minutes my frame rate drops dramatically. Basically to the point where it becomes unplayable. No one can explain the exact cause of this to me, nor have I been offered any solutions.

Any insight or help on possible solutions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Erm, um. I think you're confused. I don't think you have a "P4 dual core", especially not at 3.4ghz, but I could be wrong. =)

Change the performance settings for both games, especially textures and particle settings. Carefull with animation too. Or just set it all to extreme performance and then turn it up from there until you got something watchable and playable.

I know with AMD you can set the processors to different applications, try dividing them up.

Setting the affinity helps a ton. Also, EQ2 runs like a tank, not sure why, when I 4 box on my pc with it, I drop ALL settings to max performance.

Things arent pretty... but... it runs.

Turn off the Volume on the account you aren't actively playing.
