Well I've been dualboxing for over a year now and I just moved up to a 3 box setup
I've only played with same class toons so far its easy there are 2 of me to do the same stuff no problem
but now im on to 3 and I've played around with 3 same class got my first 3 team (Hunters) to lvl 15
But I'm thinking I'll do my first mix class team Tank Dps and Healer
I was wondering on you guy's opinions of the makeup
I want something that will be Not to hard to start
And I want all 3 to have something to contribute to the team besides their main role of Tank Dps or Healer
I would like them all to buff and just generally complement each other
I was thinking something like
Tank
Paladin
He can do whole team buffs Kings and the like
Dps
Mage
He can do intel buff and provide food and water for the team without the cost of gold
Heal
Priest
He can do stam buff and he is a good healer
or
Shaman heal he has the totems for the whole team in combat and after for faster recovery time
That's all I got really if someone else has ideas for a 3 man feel free to let me know
or if my ideas are bad feel free to let me have it lol
As a side note I'm also toying with a 3 shaman team
if you feel i should think of some other same class team post it up

The team is the classic trinity.
You have a tank, pally is the best imo for boxing.
At least the easiest to macro and play effectively while boxed.
You have a healer to keep the team up.
I really like a Disc priest in this role.
And that leaves DPS.
I'd personally recommend an Elemental Shammy as the DPS.
But you could go with Shammy healer and another caster as DPS.
I love having a shammy on my teams.
They bring a lot to any team, and synergize very well with casters.
The pally (tank) uses mana and threat is based off of spell power (even if most of theirs comes as a percentage of Strength).
Any healer is a caster, and benefits from an Elemental Shammy.
Play whatever is fun.
It's your team.

I'd just like to add my support to the idea of having a Shaman dps.
They do bring a lot to a team.
I just love the way you can drop totems and then forget about poison, fear etc.
Oh and you with shaman dps, your dps has a rez. ;)

Wouldn't CoA priest (holy) be better for pvp though? Instant cast lets you cast on the move.
I can see where Pennance is best for healing tank in PvE but for pvp I think holy priest might be better.
Also for pvp fire mage with living bomb (46 yards, instant cast, just gobal cooldown) I am sure will out dps shaman any time, cause its a dot you might not see it on dps add ons though.

Disc is the preferred pvp build

To me, back when I played 3, I looked for utility over "pure" roles.
I ran a mage, lock and druid team. They killed everything in Northrend, up to the 5 man quests. The lock tanked with a demon build, don't discount the Felguard, he takes a real beating, and does a lot of damage.
Tank, druid or pally. Possibly a DK? Less utility on the DK, though, but they do have benefits. Druid is slower as a tank, but very viable. I love my pally, though.
Heals, priest or druid. Druid edges past the priest as a druid can tank, heal, or dps, and if you dual spec, you can have two of those roles.
DPS, whatever floats your boat. My arcane mage keeps amazing me how much DPS she cranks out with a VERY simple macro, she's doing 2.1-2.3k dps in Heroics without really trying - and she brings a nice caster buff, food, and portals, and lots of cc. My next project is to spec her ice to play with the slow/freeze aspects of that build for some boss fights, but as Arcane she's awesome. My Boomkin is right up there with her, hovering at 1.8, 1.9k, reliably, and brings buffs, heals, and HoTs to the table.
Shaman are definitely on the table, it will bring buffs and heals and dps.

I am assuming this is for PVE?
If so, if it were me, I would go Paladin, Priest, 3XShaman (Trinity combo) OR Paladin and 4XShaman. These two are both proven combinations and are popular for a reason.
The only reason not to do this is if you want to play different classes solo later on or you just want variety for no other practical reason.
Why shaman? IMO it's "easier" to get more DPS out of an elemental shaman than other classes from a multiboxer point of view. Also they seem to be easier to gear up, most likely due to being able to wear chain, leather and cloth.
The tank + 4 ele shaman combo is the most interesting one, but I don't think it's relevant for you since you already have a priest.
Anyway, regardless of what classes you choose, you will always be successful with the standard trinity group.

A lot of Pal + 4x sham boxers have swapped in a boomkin or a warlock for the 13% damage bonus and it is definately worth it imo. If i was starting from scratch I would go destro lock (mainly for replenishment) but mine are low level and my druids were sitting at 60.
For healer again my preference is sham as eventually it is likely that you will switch to 4xdps and elementals seem to be easier than SPs to get good results though my highest level priest is sitting at 60 so I do not have first hand knowledge.

Ok... so what 3 toons can he start now, which will easily allow the transition to 5 down the road =p ?

To me, back when I played 3, I looked for utility over "pure" roles.
This is pretty much what I do. I'm 3 boxing 2 Fire mages and 1 Disc Priest. The two mages pretty much steam roll everything (with a little help from the Priest. Also the buffs all around are really good. Not at end game yet, I'm planning on filling dps/heals later in dungeons and raids. Also, my main account (the Priest) has an 80 Mage that I can't wait to take out with the other two. (That's going to be fun!)
I'm considering adding a tank and maybe a shammy dps to the mix but have a rough enough time dealing with 3, I'm not sure if I can handle more! :P
