So last night I created 5 accounts paid money for all 5 brand new accounts, xped to 13-14 kept to myself. Had just a few encounters with people asking my how I have 5 chars with the names close to mines, all I said was I am just boxing left it at that.
I went to bed, this morning I wake up to a email saying, account closure advertisment wtf?? Here is a copy of the email:
****Notice of Account Closure****
Account Name: ****
Account Action: Closure
Reason for Action: In-Game Chat Policy Violation - Advertisement and Spamming
This account was closed because a character on the account repeatedly abused World of Warcraft's in-game chat system. This abuse includes advertising third party services/websites and repeatedly spamming in-game chat channels. Abuse of this nature pollutes chat channels shared by all players and harms the game environment as a whole.
You may not perform activity that we consider to be damaging to World of Warcraft. Engaging in such activity violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html).
Any recurring subscriptions on this account have been suspended to prevent further monetary charges. For any concerns or disputes regarding this action, please reply directly to this e-mail.
Regards,

repeated abuse? wtf? I dont even say anything ever in chat. Not to mention this account hasnt even been active for 24 hours. and advertising? How are they getting this junk. The most bizzare part is that my main account is the one who I responded to any tells, this is my slave account, I never even messaged on him. I am calling blizz up now, man I am pissed. Wtf is happening.
Anyway just wanted to vent out my frustration heh.

Possible account hack?
Any new characters created on that account? They could have done the spamming if your account was hacked

ive gotten this before, It was actually pretty funny, I logged into the wow forums, and when u get to choose what character to chat under I had 10 lvl 1 characters in IF/Org, names LKDALKj sdfjksj and lkjoij ext... Bassically this happens all the time, 99% of the time its not you, and they know that, u call them, and say hey, i think my account was hacked then used to exploit or w/e they see, yeah u were offline from ur home internet IP number, then someone else logged on or w/e.. they lift the ban, reset back to the hour u last played, u continue on..
This process took 45 min. for me the last time it happened
also next process, scan all ur computer, get the virus that couldve done this

I'm still trying to figure out how an account less than 24 hours old gets reported and banned for spam in such a short period of time. I haven't seen a ticket response time that's less than 32 hours on my realm in months.
What happened to the level 58 accounts you asked about leveling up 2 days ago? The suspicious side of me wonders if we're getting the whole story.

Get an authenticator too.
But if you were hacked, you'll most likely want to format.
It's doubtful the anti-virus/spyware program will find the cause.

Wow people are too suspicious on this website, yes I do have a level 58 (60 now) but what does that have anything to do with a new account I made yesterday? Talking to you Khatovar (http://www.dual-boxing.com/member.php?u=6813).
Anyway I just got home, and got this email:
We have restored access to World of Warcraft account WOW1 and reset the password to this account.
It may take up to one hour for our system to generate and send the new password. If you have not received a password within one hour of this message's delivery, please check your Spam, Junk, or Suspect Mail folders.
So this makes me happy.
Btw I called billing/account. Not tech support. Who said anything about tech support? Talking to you Fursphere (http://www.dual-boxing.com/member.php?u=147). I just said I called the rep... If my account gets banned, why on earth would I call tech support? That makes no sense. What I did was call the billing/account number then at the prompt it asked me to press 3 or w/e if my account was closed, so I did and waiting till someone answers. Man so many suspicisions, and assumptions here these people. Yes I did edit my other post about tech support, all the post had was me relaying what the REP said. I thought this wasn't necessary so I edited it out. Didn't know this was a violation of dual-boxing.com ToS.
Anyways, I figured out what could have happened. To all the people who are just curious, and did not assume anything. I purchased a WoW CD Key online at a 3rd party website. And I used the same password of my battle.net account there. So earlier when I went to go post on the World of warcraft forums, there was a level 1char on the select character box. On some random server. I didnt make.
So me purchasing a cd-key at a 3rd party website, (they also sell gold). Used the same password there, they got access to my account and did w/e they do.
For Khatovar (http://www.dual-boxing.com/member.php?u=6813), no idea how it got quickly banned or what not. But is that my fault? So don't come at me, for that not like I have control on how blizzard quickly bans people. But when I called another rep again. He told me there was 3 reports on the a level 1 character. So got me.
K thanks for listening, some people should really not assume things if they don't know all the facts. Suspisions are fine, but those should be kept to yourself. Unless you are 100% sure you are right.
You don't want to assume your g/f is cheating on you with her male friend, and approach her all wtf like unless you are 100% sure right? Or you don't want to be a cop, and arrest someone for something you think he did but not enough evidence for. Thats how you lose your job, and your g/f.
Tsk tsk.

If she is cheating on you and you are 100% sure, you will lose here anyway
That being said: you say that you bought the cd key online? I assume that this was for the classic version and not an upgrade? Since there was already a lvl 1 account it looks to me that you've actually bought an existing account. Not that I care, but I would never buy the classic cd key online. I always want a box, so I can create the account myself. I don't see any problems in buying upgrade cd keys, as they can never influence your account whatsoever (unless it's a scam of course).

I bought a original classic WoW cd key. Made a new account with it. The level 1 wasn't there when I first created the account. The level 1 appeared after I found out the account was closed.
I never had a problem with the website before tho, I have purchased gold, and cd keys for my old accounts with them in the past. Never had anything remotely similar to this happen. Hince why I was so surprised. I guess they must be under new management or something.
I would post the name of the site, since I know some are curious but I am not sure how dual-boxing.com would deal with that. Don't want to get banned from this forum heh, too much information I need here.

Yeah, post the name and I am pretty sure you will be banned. Not tolerated. And as you confess to buying gold you won't get much sympathy here either.
People here are suspicious because many first time posters come on here crying about their accounts being banned and all they did was multi-box. It always turns out that they were banned/suspended for some other reason. So even subtly implying that multi-boxing was the cause of a ban will be met with hostility and suspicion.

What so bad about purchasing gold? This website sells CD keys for 15.97 each, Blizzard sells for 19.99 each. with the saved up money from buying 5 cd keys there I have 20 bucks that I have saved.
With 20 bucks I can go out to eat, or see a movie, or even buy 2500 gold. Sorry if saving money is a bad thing these days, you know with the crap economy and all. Anyway I had high expectations for this website, but apparently I am going to move on to another for my future purchases.
Anyway I buy gold cause I want to. Its alot easier for me to enjoy the game without having to be broke all the time. Not to mention I hate tradeskilling, I am a busy person irl, but I could always take some time to do em I guess. But I simply just hate it.
EverQuest has simply destroyed any chance of tradeskilling with another game again.
You can play the game how you want to, but don't knock another person for how they like playing a game. As multiboxer's you should respect that. Since I am pretty sure a lot of you use that same sentence to people constantly harassing you in game.

Because it's way cheaper ... a site like gamersloot.net has build up a pretty decent reputation among the gamers i know (they don't sell gold btw, they just sell legit video games)
I live in Belgium and we pay in the store:
classic € 14.99
bc € 14.99
60 day gamecard € 26.99
lich king € 32.99
... which is almost exactly the same as in the blizzard store
while by just buying the cd keys I would pay
classic € 8.69
bc € 8.69
60 day gamecard € 19.99
lich king € 22.12
(you can get the box for free if you go pick it up yourself)
means with what I save I could buy cataclysm for free ... and it's even cheaper cause you pay in us dollar.
Another reason might be that blizzard does not accept paypal. Not everyone is keen on giving out his creditcard number online. or just doesn't have one.

As a multi-boxer, who goes to GREAT lengths to stay in the TOS of the game and not break any rules, I despise you for buying gold. You are part of the problem of what's destroying online gaming. You, bluntly, are a fucking loser.
Every gold you buy was stolen from someone else, who had their accounts stolen like yours was. What's the harm? Recall teh anger YOU posted about your account being locked? Hmmm? Go over to the Customer Service Forums, and read the posts by frustrated players who's accounts were stolen, stripped, and locked, and how they have to wait up to a week to start playing again - all so your lazy ass can buy the gold from their account.
If you're too lazy to farm gold legitimately, leave this site - you do not have what it takes to MB, and you are a threat to our community, and you don't belong here, if you think buying gold is okay.
As for the rest of your "plight", I could give a damn, now. You bought from thieves, and now you're going to cry about it? Take its somewhere else, dummy. We don't need players like you here. We follow the rules, because we know if we start to act like you, Blizzard might just stop the ability to multibox altogether.

What so bad about purchasing gold?
In any game it
- attracks a whole lot of people you don't wanna have in your game
- causes a lot of problems you don't wanna have in your game (hacking, virus, etc)
- disturbs the ingame economy
- gives an unfair advantage
Bottomline: if the professional gold sellers would be whiped, the game would look totally different (that goes for any game btw)

From your stand point, buying gold is no big deal.
You give up a bit of cash, your own choice to do so, and get fair value (or you wouldn't have purchased).
But the gold has to come from somewhere.
One would hope it was from farming.
But stealing gold from accounts being hacked is a lot easier, cheaper on their part etc.
Even if they were to generate the gold entirely from playing the auction house.
And from farming etc.
The economy is changed compared to people just playing the game.
With more gold in the economy prices change, which impacts everyone who plays whether they buy gold or not.
If no one was willing to buy gold at any price, the assholes who hack and/or keylog accounts would leave the game.
I mean if they get nothing for their time, why do it?
Anyone who buys gold, is essentially telling the companies to continue to steal their gold from legitimate players and to ruin the playing experience of others.
If you buy gold, you're part of the problem, because you're creating a market for their stolen virtual currencies.
The game would be better off, if every last player refused to buy gold.
It's not going to happen, but it is pretty much the only cure.
That or to have Blizzard go after players who buy, as well as the sellers.

I guess the humor of a guy owning 36 accounts at a cost of $400 a month complaining about someone using RL monies to get an edge in the game was missed....
Anyway seems to me the more people playihg the game even if they are farmers the better for all. I dont buy or sell gold (or accounts with characters on them) but I cant see the downside.
Ya I can see the point about account hacking but everyting someone posts about their account getting hacked they always did something that wasn't smart in the first place.... Just shut off the service that allows other computers to remotly access yours .... bang 70 percent less hacked accounts.

My name is Al, and I have bought gold.
I got it from a guy in our guild who played the AH like a madman. He could write a Gold Making Book. If he knew how to read and write. ;) But he lived right next to the GL and we talked on Vent and stuff. It was more of a gift to him, but I did take gold, which was almost worthless to him as he had banks full of everything.
Turned out he was trading gold for game cards and RL Cash among other things, it all turned on him when he got too bossy with his twink guild and we all left and kicked him from everything.
Now I have said it and I totally agree with the point that the OP got what he deserved and can't wrap it all around his pointed head

My DB Profile (http://www.dual-boxing.com/member.php?u=9879)has the best methods to contact me. The fastest way to get me to notice a thread is to PM me. PMs generate an email that goes directly to my phone. I check my phone even when I'm raiding. The content of the PM is even in the email so I can see whats up. So when you guys see something like this drop me a PM. it'll get a faster response if you don't see me on the "who's online" part of the site here.
What #(&#@ing stuns me is only 4 people reported this thread. (You know who you are, and I appreciate you)
There ARE website(s) out there that LEGITIMATELY sell CD keys, game time card codes. There is one in particular I have done a lot of business with and I've never been hacked (this predated authenticators). So it is just silly to say all sites that sell keys / codes are gold sellers, please don't make this generalization.
