Since the patch today...any software boxers out there having trouble opening multiple copies of wow? Since the patch went through, i have been unable to launch more than one window of wow. Just wanted to see if this is common or just something i need to figure out (couldn't find what the Tools Patch was about atm). Thanks for the help.

The launcher isn't opening multiple windows, but running from the exe files is working for me.

Rebooted and reset router didn't help...But using wow.exe to launch works. Thank you.

Things are good here. Just setup my Battle.net account, logged in and moved my 5-man Shammy team from Loch Modan to Featherhold to setup for a Dire Maul run. I had no trouble downloading the patch. Afterward, openning and running 4 WoW windows worked just fine. Had to make a few changes to Keyclone but Maximizer worked just like it always did. Don't know what else to say.

Did not have issues logging into the game after the patch.

The first two attempts to patch resulted in an error, cannot apply patch.
But it didn't even start to download.

Just closed wow and launched a single wow again, via my wow.exe short cut.
The patcher worked on the third launch, with maybe 90 seconds of patch time.
After that, was able to get into the game just fine.
Did my dailies and have logged out for a food break.

When launching from innerspace everything worked perfect for me since patch, However when i only had 1 toon logged on and wanted to check something on another and alt tabbed to windows and hit Wow shortcut it did not open the second copy for me.

Tried several times with clean reboot of comp and router and no luck.

Oh yeah make sure to apply patch on single run of the game, when i opened all 5 copies of wow it said it was updating but was stuck at 0%. I exited ran 1 copy applied patch and using innerspace everything works fine

They pushed a patch last night around 8pm CST, but not a server restart / forced patch.

This totally sucks ass. Think I will take a break until they fix this because no way I am going to have a gimped up display of single windows scattered all over the place. WTF are they thinking?

I don't see what the issue is - am I the only one who runs all his copies of wow from the wow.exe as opposed to the launcher?

If you guys have symlinked folders you only need to patch the main folder. Then go in and copy the Repair.exe, Launcher.exe and there is one more item just look at the modified date to find out what it is. Copy those 3 files to each of your folders and profit as you normally do.

Edit: This is only for this tools update patch last night only. Okay need to learn to string words better. Normally after a patch you copy the WoW.exe and the Wowerror.exe. Last nights update messed with the launcher and the repair and something else.. Sorry not at home so can't tell you.

No, I stopped symlinking for this very reason. I run all 5 from one wow.exe and it works just as well.

Launcher what's a launcher?

Seriously though the only time I see that stupid box is on patch nights, I just launch the wow.exe directly

Yeah I start all my wow's via their .exe. However when the patch hit I found that when I patched up my main as normal.. then copied the wow.exe and wowerror.exe as I normally do on patch day.. only 1 of my screens worked. the others errored out or would go to the download screen. Since this was a tools patch, the wow.exe didn't change.
So I looked at what did change and saw that the launcher, repair and I still can't remember what the third item is in the main folder, but those 3 things changed. so I then just copied and pasted those 3 items to my other folders and I was back in business. I relaunched my games and none of them tried to patch anymore or gave me errors.

So it is the launcher that prevents more wows running. So there should be no problem then cause I don't use the launcher. whew!

Launcher?

But for some reason, I'm having trouble logging in more than one account at a time. They stay logged in fine, but only one auth at a time will succeed. WTF? I don't want to spend five minutes just logging in to do any little thing...

Yaki do you have an authenticator? If that is what you are talking about it, that is a totally different story that has been talked about for a while now regarding the battle.net accts only allowing you to log in once now accross multiple accts single authenticator. A current workaround for that is to have multiple b.net accts so you can still use 1 authenticator code. If that is not what you are talking about ignore this whole post.. lol.

Wild, all my accounts log in just fine following my usual patch one/copy files procedure. On the other hand, when I log in I cannot interact with anything or anyone. Seems Blizz wants me to do a bunch of stuff I don't want to do.

Can anyone with a bit more programming or computer understanding explain to me how every time a patch comes out (that does not allow a significant player base game access) Blizz tells everyone, "Yes we know everything was fine yesterday, but we patched the game and now YOUR computer is screwed up, you need to fix it."?

Keyclone required us to point to wow.exe instead of launcher.exe.
Because of that, even my one box shortcut for wow points to wow.exe.

I'm not sure what IS Boxer uses for the executable, but I would guess its wow.exe, as I've not experienced anything like this with IS.

Hi everyone,

Since the patch Yesterday, I can't log in 2 account on the same computer.

I can log in with the 2 accounts on the same computer, but i cannot Retrieve character from the same realm.
If i login to Magtheridon server with my first Wow, i will not be able to log in to magtheridon with the second one on the same computer. But, if i log in the second wow on another computer on the same network (same wan ip), everything works fine.

Its like if the game knows im already logged in to this server with the other client.

Can anyone help me with this Please?

Aww, crap. I don't really want to take the authenticator off, but since I already merged the accounts it sounds like the only way to get sane logins back.

I had trouble running 4 copies of wow from one symlinked folder the 4th wouldn't run for some bizarre reason, so I just copied the folder and symlinked two copies from each.

For all the good it may do me, I wrote to the account security dept. about this. I doubt it will come to anything, but it's more likely than if no one brings it up.

Hopefully I don't just get some idiot that assumes I'm reporting my accounts compromised and forces me to spend a week getting them unlocked. Historically that's kind of par for my customer service experiences with Blizzard.
