Hi all.
Long time reader, first time poster. I've got a question about the Battle.net conversion. I was looking at it for the first time today and I'm a little worried. I don't see how Keyclone is suppose to work with it. If everything is done through the Battle.net site, and not through the WoW executable, then how do I uses Keyclone to multibox? Does Maximizer still work the same?
Has anyone encounter any problems with the new system? Is so what changes did you have to make?
TIA
Larry

I am converting mine this weekend and am curious myself. I have no idea how it will work with keyclone. I have done zero research on battle.net so far.

Instead of having a wow account name, and a wow password, you use a battle net email address and a wow password.
You still run wow.exe to get to the game.
The only thing different is Something@Somewhere.Com... for every account instead of five wow account names.

You will be presented with an extra drop down list where you can select your account you want to play.

Hi all. First post here.
I've converted my five accounts to one e-mail address (one battle.net account). Since then, I can't "Manage Accounts." I get "An error has occurred" when I try to log into account management. What gives? Anyone else getting this?

Shouldn't get this error, but I occasionally cannot access anything on the blizzard site.
I'd recommend just trying in a few hours.

Boone can you still log into your accounts? Some people have been hijacked while switching to battle.net
Personally I don't like the fact they are forcing this on us.

I switched to 5x Battle Net a while ago with only 1 email and KeyClone. I am manually picking the accounts from the dropdown every time I start up my 5 wows. The only way to get around this is if each WoW sessions started with its own Config.wtf file or if there is only a single account linked to the battle net email (which means 5 battle net accounts for 5 boxing).

If you run 1 B.Net for 5 (up to 8) accounts...
You need a virtual config file like those in inner space.
Or a wow folder per account.
Or to utilize symbolic links, junction points etc, which is a folder per wow for the settings, but to use data/cache from only one of those folders.
I personally went with 5 B.Net's, 5 WoW's and one authenticator code to log them all in.

I personally went with 5 B.Net's, 5 WoW's and one authenticator code to log them all in.
This is the biggest pain. With one Battle Net account and an authenticator you cannot log all 5 accounts in at once. You need to log them in 1 by 1 and probably with different authenticator codes.

Yes, if they're on the same B.Net, then you gain all of the new features...
Things like a drop down box within account management, to manage each account quickly.
I'll need to log out of B.Net and into the next one (the same as everyone did prior to B.Net account implementation).
I'm pretty sure there will be other beneficial features to having multiple accounts on one B.Net; they're talking of making account bound items bound to the B.Net account (no clue if this will ever go in or not).
But one of the new features is one code per each account within one B.Net.
So approximately 30 seconds of delay for each subsequent account after each previous account.
It's a preference between the convenience of quick logging in (while retaining an authenticator) versus the new features which are being implemented.

great sounds like a real pickle to play with, i have to convert my accounts tonight
what i didnt like in the new bnet policy was them forcing you to accept they will share your personal information with third parties.
cool...

I can log into my accounts and play just fine. No hi-jacking.
The whole deal is I can't manage my accounts. It's been roughly 5 days since my conversion over to Battle.net. I've put in an inquiry with blizzard support through e-mail, and I've got a ticket open with GMs, and I haven't heard from anyone through either channel. I've been on hold with this open GM ticket for many, many hours. I'm getting pretty fed up.

Since I started this puppy, I guess I better finish it. :)
Completed the conversion earlier today with the help of a Blizzard support guy.
Here's what you do. Create 1 acct with your email as the username (they won't let you use anything else). Then merge all 5 of your accts to the one battle.net acct. Next, fire up Keyclone. In the Command Editor select each one of your commands and change the WoW username to your email address. This part was a little wierd for me because Keyclone kept dumping the new info. Half the time it wouldn't save and just reset itself back to the old data. Once your new commands are set (for me it was setup on 2 computers), connect as usual. When the WoW login window comes up, it should have your new login email address instead of your old username. Put your passwords in for all your accts and hit Enter. A box comes up with all of your accts listed. Just select which acct you want to play for each window and you're in.
Thanks for all the help and the replies. Hope this helps someone else.

If you check the box to remember your login information you can skip entering your email address and just put in your password after the initial login.
Hope it makes it a little easier on everyone.

i hate battle.net
I originally was going to do 1 wow = 1 b.net but I broke down and did 5 b.net with 2 accounts each.
I can't find anyone and I'm always logging in the wrong account.
I should have moved one guy over before the merge so now I have to wait 30 days to move him.
I wish I had done 1 wow = 1 b.net like I originally planed to.

I debated with myself quite a bit as to whether to go one B.net account or 5, like many here.
5 b.net accounts would allow me to use a single authenticator entry to log in on all 5 at once, which would be convenient but slightly less secure. I haven't set up my authenticator yet, I wanted to hget the bnet login stable first.
Biggest reason I went to 1 bnet account instead of 5 is just a hunch/wish. I foresee a time when Bind to Account becomes more global to your bnet account in terms of heirlooms. You can't do it today, but I just have a hunch/fervent wish that one day you will be able to share your heirlooms among your toons on the same bnet account, even if only on the same faction or server.
Which would be nice, as my main account has tons of shards and badges and such, but my RAF/alt accounts have squat at this time.
At the end of the day doing one account was also lazier, and I don't/won't run enough accounts to cap out the bnet account.

I am actually going to look at converting from 1 b.net account with my 5 wow accounts to 5 b.net accounts with 1 wow account in each.
Then I am setup for when the next xpac comes out to setup my RAF accounts in with the accounts for my worgen team that I will be setting up.
I need to move some toons around first before I do this though.

Well, as of Yesterday, I can log into the Account Management pages.
I got an e-mail from Blizzard support saying "nothing is or ever was wrong and it must be you." I read the e-mail and tried again and I got in on the first try... Funny, Blizzard....Very funny...

migrated to 5 accounts to 5 B-net accounts. Login with authenticator. all 5 at the same time, no problems so far.
If Blizz really brings out features that justify to have 5 accounts in 1 Bnet account, I can still decide hen to move chars or accounts.
and if blizz decides to limit the authenticator simultanious login to one B-net account I can decide to use auth or not, or to migrate ...

Having a massive headache with the battlenet stuff. Ive opted to go with 5 bnets for 5 accounts but its made logging into the game a real pain. Before I just had the account names all the same except for a number on the end eg. multiboxacc1. So using keyclone I just type in multiboxacc then tab between the 5 windows to add the number then type password, hit enter, type authenticator code, hit enter Done.
Now Ive gone for 5 email addresses the same but with a different number in each. It adds about 2 mins to the log in procedure. Im pretty sure theres some way I can make it easier on myself using keyclone login options etc but Im just annoyed that I now have to fix something that wasnt broken.
I dont know why blizz cant allow us to use the same authenticator code 5 times on 1 bnet account. If someone is that desperate to hack my account that they will install keyloggers and a monitor for the authenticator code then Id rather they hack the account than have all this unnecessary security in place. After all im going to get the accounts back in a few days anyway (Quite often with a ton of gold and items that I didnt have before).
Im contemplating going to 1 battlenet account and just removing the authenticator because as I said Id rather have less security and smoother login features. I just wish they had told us about this before I added the authenticator in the first place.
Sorry for the rant!

Its not the shortening of the time that bothers me its the fact that I have to use 5 different codes to log into my accounts if I have them all in 1 battlenet account.
EDIT: Just took the time to do the keyclone setup wizard and it appears im stupid and have been wasting a lot of time logging in my accounts. Id reccomend anyone that hasnt set up keyclone properly yet to go through the 30 second setup wizard and save yourself a lot of time :D

Wow that's crazy talk. Waiting an extra 2 mins to get all 5 accts logged in is of minor consequence.
If you got hacked, you would have to wait the whole day while they locked down your acct. You prove who you are. They then reactivate your accts. Then it could take up to 3-4 days to get all your gear back if it was sold off or destroyed. You may or may not get any items or gold from the hacker's colleagues. That's not a given at all. I would say that's a bigger inconvenience then 2 extra minutes for the security of an authenticator.
Trust me I have friends who have been hacked and it's no laughing matter. Especially when they have to sit all weekend waiting for their accts to be restored. I can't vouche for how they got hacked in the first place but regardless getting hacked sucks.

After converting to battle.net and merging 10 accounts, I have found that logging in is now a gigantically huge pain in the ass. Luckily, this allows me to play more Forza 3, and perhaps finish Dead Space.

No wonder I cannot login to all 5 accounts at once. This has been driving me crazy.
FYI you can have keyclone or octopus or whatever multiboxing software you use automatically select the different accounts from the dropdown without having seperate configs or anything special. All you have to do is pass a new config option via keyclone or octopus called "accountList". You then pass it the accounts to show in the dropdown and put an exclamation next to the one you want to be selected by default. I've only tested this with Octopus but I assume it works just fine in keyclone.
Example (ACCOUNT2 will be the default selected account):
ACCOUNT1|!ACCOUNT2|ACCOUNT3|ACCOUNT4|ACCOUNT5|

For now im happy with the setup of 5 accounts on 5 battlenets. With the press of 1 button from keyclone im at the stage where I just have to enter the password which is same on all accounts and the authenticator code which is the same on all accounts. Thats better than what I had before but I was too stubborn to research how to set it up properly.
Ill be happy with this untill they start allowing item trading between chars in the same bettlenet account, then I will most likely be doing the 2.5 min wait to enter seperate codes for each char.

i had to slightly modify my HKN script to allow login. I have each config.wtf setup with the username and account to login to.
only downside is that i have to log them in 1 by one (authenticator) but this is no great issue.
