I like to just run with quest rewards for my gear as it keeps all toons in the same gear and with multiple toons you really dont need top of the line lvling gear
So what im looking for is an addon that will equip the same piece of gear for all toons at the same time so i dont have to do it for every toon

try broadcasting /equip item name

just a little workaround until you find something:
u can actually type: /equip Item Name
normally the first 2-3 letters of the item name is enough, so if you want to equip "Edge of Ruin" typing /equip Edge or something is normally enough.
May not be as comfortable as an addon, but i hope it helps until you find something better
Edit: too slow ><

With the Jamba Dev version you can just put the item in one of the item slots and hit the keybind for that slot, it will equip the item for you.
If the gear has a use ability on it the item bar will also allow you to acivate the use ability.

Quest items = Jamba item
Normal Gear, use a gear set in the equipment manager, make a macro:
#show 16
/equipset axe
Stick it on a button and give it a hotkey.
Works flawlessly for me when you have to use things like the Lances from the AT dailies or ToC and then swap back to combat gear.

Ya Khatovar I know it was intended for using quest items and such but it works fine for equiping gear short of ring2 trinket2 and one-handers in the off-hand slot. It also has the distinct advantage of not requiring a macro space if you have a 1 class team. Another nice effect is not being required to update the macro on all chars to equip the newly acquired item.
It seemed the OP was asking for a simple method of equiping newly acquired gear on all toons. If he was going to go through rewriting all the macros for them to equip gear he might as well just find it in each bag and equip it.
On a side note though, swapping between predetermined gear sets is accomplished quite nicely using the macro you provided.
