I have an i7 920, 12GB of RAM and a 2GB video and 10 is a little choppy in Dalaran, lol. 2GB of RAM and an AMD Dual Core may be rough.

Personally i'd say no - you'll need 8-12gb memory, a quad core or better processor. Your video card isn't going to be your bottleneck.

If you have more than 2GB of RAM it should be reporting as such. XP MC can only use 3.2GB, also. What is your BIOS reporting, as far as RAM goes?

I run 10 on low settings and minimal addons on the 9 slaves and it uses about 8gb of my 16gb. Also I have a 3.2 quadcore processor and max it out often.

You may be able to get 10 open but if you even leave the old world area you're done.

You'll need a 64bit operation system to utilize more than 2gb of ram.

RAM is very over-rated. Hard-drive swapping FTW ! ;)

More seriously, opening N clients is one thing, playing N clients is another thing.

Basically you have a 32-bit operating system.
So you can only use 4gb of your ram.
And the video card is using some of your ram, which reduces the amount remaining as actual ram from ram chips.

I would tend to say, no you cannot 10-box on that machine.
Well you might be able to open 10, but it would not be playable.

A 64-bit operating system (I'd go Win7 64bit Home Premium), will go a long ways towards saying yes you can.
More ram will definitely help, that's one of the biggest things in wow.
A processor upgrade, would also be huge, but the ram is a bigger upgrade.
WoW is not especially graphically challenging, so the video is ok if all the options are down.

With that system, you'd be better off 5-boxing (just up the ram and get a 64-bit OS).
And then get a second system for another 5 accounts.
The second system (for 5-boxing) will likely cost less then upgrading to system that can handle 10.
Alternatively, get something like an i7 or the amd equivalent; probably overclock a 920 or 940, rather then go with a 965, 12gb of ram, decent video card etc.

I ran 5 with a better video card, worse ram/processor (which have a larger impact within wow).. well same amount of ram, but mine was slower.

i built a i7 920, 12 gig, gtx 285 video card, computer for 1400 dollars, and i mean it runns smooth although i run 4-5 i get like 40 FPS even in boss fights and all that goodness.. so i mean if ur 10 boxin ur prolly looking at raids huh? i would pay 1400 for a nice computer and have no lag while trying to do the dance in 10 naxx ;0
